By now, you should be well aware that skinny jeans, the pride of millennials and the reigning silhouette for beyond a decade, have been unceremoniously dethroned. So what’s left in its wake? More forgiving baggy cuts and relaxed denim, which Levi’s® is all about this season — not that these were ever out of style though.
The denim brand turns towards the past for inspiration, particularly for this “Archives Reinvented” Fall/Winter 2022 collection, which touches on popular and old-school Levi’s® fits and styles of the ‘80s, ‘90s, and early 2000s. The materials, techniques, texture, and silhouettes are definitely updated for a modern wardrobe though, so rest assured, you’ll be able to flaunt these fresh cuts without having to dig too deep into your mom’s closet.

For women, these’s a new companion to the mom jean — the Baggy Dad, a mid-rise cut that rests on the hips, while featuring a looser seat with a slight tapered leg. There’s also the Baggy Boot, which features a similar top block and loose seat style, but with a leg that is loose all the way down to the hem.
Borrowing again from the boys is also the new Dad Utility, which features a looser fit, but this time, with a straight leg inspired by classic carpenter pants. If you like your high-rise cuts though, Levi’s® does an old-school take on the 80s Mom jean, with a cut that sits high on the waist, has a loose fit, and a tapered hem.
The men, on the other hand, can enjoy straighter cuts and more relaxed fits, whether that includes classics such as the 501® Original or more modern interpretations. This season though, look out for the 50s Straight, unique for its wider leg that’s straight out of the 50s era, though with 80s-cool.
Then, there are also tapered styles within their line-up, including the popular Stay Baggy and Stay Loose jeans, as well as the 501® Taper, a tapered-leg version of the Levi’s® classic.
