We’re not done with the happy Smiley face yet. After gracing the lines of other fashion brands such as Fossil and H&M, Smiley, now in its 50th year, is ready to spread joy to our feet — by way of these Havaianas flip-flops.
The iconic Havaianas Top silhouette features the Smiley icon in two styles, both with a firm message of positivity, especially in a post-pandemic world. “After the challenging last couple of years, what better way to navigate out of these times with this campaign that aims to reverse a global smile deficit, spread positivity and fill the world with smiles in 2022,” says Nicolas Loufrani, CEO of Smiley.
The design of the prints comprise of Smiley’s “Positive State of Mind” motto, and sees plenty of 60s and 70s retro elements, including the use of tie-dye inspired by the hippie movement. Two colourways — Blue, and Black/Yellow — are also deliberately chosen to be vibrant yet casual, with neon and yellow accents covering both the flip-flops and their celebratory box.
