Just last year, Leica launched the highly-anticipated M11 camera, which came five years after its previous version, the M10. If you want to read more about the legendary M system and the M11 model, check out this article. Yesterday, the announcement for the Leica M11 Monochrom broke on Leica’s social media and websites, and the released specs are incredible:
—Full-frame BSI CMOS sensor
—ISO 125-200,000
—60MP
—256GB internal memory
—All-metal body
—Scratch-resistant Black Paint finish
The red dot on the front of the camera is noticeably missing, which harkens back to the Leica M10-P that’s popular with collectors and those who subscribe to the notion of “quiet luxury”. I love that the M11 Monochrom is presented in the sought-after Black Paint finish that is incredibly sleek and premium; with the aesthetics perfectly matching the black-and-white pictures you’ll get out of this exceptional sensor.
Like all new Leica launches, there’s a waitlist for this incredible camera body, even at its (also incredible) retail price of $13,470. The M11 Monochrom will be available from 13 April 2023, and you can join the waitlist online here.
