If you’ve always wanted to try Samsung’s flagship Galaxy series, but can’t quite justify spending over $1,000 on a smartphone, you might find something in Samsung‘s latest FE line-up, which presents devices from the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem at more accessible price points. The new Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE and S9 FE+, and Galaxy Buds FE are, therefore, the perfect entry point models if you’ve always been interested in the tech company’s most premium innovations.
New to the series is an FE version of the Galaxy Buds, available for the first time this year; as for the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone and Galaxy Tab S9 FE series tablets, these are packed with advanced capabilities without any major tradeoffs in terms of features. The Galaxy S23 FE, for instance, sees the same sleek and iconic design with a premium finish, and has a pro-grade camera for sharp photos, selfies, portraits and videos.
Take a look at each of the devices below —
S23 FE
The Galaxy S23 FE should look familiar if you’ve been a fan of the S23 series, and comes with a smooth 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and full IP68 rating for water and dust resistance as well. There’s also an element of fun with a whole range of six vibrant colours — mint, cream, graphite and purple, along with indigo and tangerine if you order online.
Another major pro is the camera, of a 50MP high-resolution lens, and 3X optical zoom to help capture great photos, selfies and portraits in life-like colours, with a Nightography mode for after-hours snaps. In Pro Mode, we’re able to manually control shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and other functions as well.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, available for purchase ONLINE in Singapore from 10 October 2023, and in-store from 20 October 2023, at $888 (128GB) and $988 (256GB). in Mint, Cream, Graphite, Purple, and Samsung Online Store exclusive colours – Indigo and Tangerine.
Buds FE
The Galaxy Buds FE is just as decent, and brings Samsung’s advanced sound experience to us, offering deep and rich sound, and just like the flagship device, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Ambient Sound as well. What’s great is that it provides up to 8.5 hours of playback with earbuds, or 6 hours of playback when using ANC, and rated IPX2 just like Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2. Inspired by the ergonomic design of the series, the Galaxy Buds FE are designed for long-wear comfort, and enable a more customised fit with three different sizes of ear tips and two different sizes for wingtips.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE, available in Singapore from 20 October 2023, at $158. In Graphite and White.
Tab S9 FE Series
On to the tablets! Both the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and S9 FE+ offer large-screen viewing, and come with the versatile S Pen that allows us to use the tablets in more functional ways, whether you’re in the creative line or using it for more standard productivity needs. This is done with improved device speed and a better performance compared to the previous FE Series.
The Tab S9 FE comes with a 10.9-inch screen, and the S9 FE Plus has a 12.4-inch display, both LCD screens featuring an automatic refresh rate that adapts up to 90Hz. Just like the newest Galaxy Tab S9 series, both the devices boast an IP68 rating, with long-lasting battery life of up to 18 hours and 20 hours of video playback on a single charge for the Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ respectively.
