Following the announcement on 13 August, Chinese tech brand TECNO has become the official global sponsor of the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) new club competitions namely the AFC Champions League Elite, the AFC Champions League Two, and the AFC Women’s Champions League for the 2024-2025 season.
The partnership was unveiled at a signing ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
By tapping into the vast fan base of AFC club competitions, TECNO aims to connect with huge sports communities by bringing unique, immersive digital experiences to football fans with their cutting-edge technology and variety of smart products such as their smartphones, smart watches and laptops.
TECNO currently operates in more than 70 markets worldwide with a focus on evolving digital platforms in emerging global markets with their wide range of smartphones, smart wearables, laptops and tablets, HiOS operating systems and smart home products.
This partnership also focuses on TECNO’s commitment to using sports as a bridge to resonate with its consumers to create shared experiences and help inspire individuals to make progress, chase dreams, and pursue their passions.
This isn’t TECNO’s first foray into the world of football as the brand has previously sponsored the 34th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with a series of campaigns that made football matches available to the entire football community in Africa by creating unique viewing experiences.
TECNO also made football more accessible to remote African communities by pledging to renovate 100 football fields across Africa over the next five years.
