RIMOWA introduces limited-edition Original Cabin Optical inspired by optical art

Since it was first introduced in 1950, the grooves have become a defining feature of RIMOWA’s identity and even went on to become one of the brand’s most recognizable features.

Inspired by the optical art, RIMOWA presents a new limited-edition release of the RIMOWA Original Cabin Optical — a bold reinterpretation of its iconic design codes featuring a geometric pattern that creates the illusion of its signature grooves disappearing.

In order to achieve this effect, the German Maison had chosen between brushed and unbrushed finishes for its signature aluminum which is then meticulously put together at its historic factory in Cologne.

This optical art motif is also included within the case, with the jacquard patterns mirroring the shifting effect seen on the exterior of the luggage, and on the Flex Dividers, which are RIMOWA’s compression system that allows travelers to pack more.

To mark the special release, the RIMOWA Original Cabin Optical also comes with a specially designed leather tag which features the same geometric optical pattern.

In addition to RIMOWA’s unconditional Lifetime guarantee, each of the 2002 limited-edition piece will also feature a numbered label to make your luggage even more special.

The limited-edition RIMOWA Original Cabin Optical is priced at S$2,870 and will be available in stores and ONLINE from 7 November.
