Sneakers have always been more of a guy thing, but these days, nothing’s ever skewed to one gender anymore. Girls are swapping out their sky-scraping heels for sneakers because they’re obviously way more comfortable to walk in (and they’re getting more stylish too). New Balance has one-upped themselves again, this time collaborating with a local female footwear store you’ll probably be familiar with. P.V.S., the store in Cineleisure that has a tunnel at the entrance, puts their very own modern spin on the popular 996 silhouette. The people behind this one-stop store for female sneakerheads have taken upon themselves to create a pair of kicks that breaks out of the clean and tonal trends usually found in footwear (and in the wardrobes of many women), to become that one expressive shoe that’ll add a little bit of pizzazz to your outfits. The P.V.S. x New Balance “9alactic 9irls’ 6rigade” sports a whole multitude of pastel hues to create a galaxy-type of print, with teal accents running throughout the panel lining. The signature “N” insignia remains black to provide contrast.
This limited release will come in a shimmery bronze reflective shoe box that was specially designed in tandem with the people at Streething.
P.V.S x New Balance “9alactic 9irls’ 6rigade”, $189. Available in limited quantities at P.V.S. from 27 February.
