We’re right in the middle of Pride Month, and Pride collections have been popping up left and right. From rainbow luxury to Pride-themed sneakers, there are a multitude of ways to show your support for the LGBTQ+ community. The beauty industry has its fair share of rainbow products, but we’ve rounded up a selection of beauty items that were not only made to support Pride symbolically, but sales proceeds will also be contributed to support the LGBTQ+ community.
1. Marc Jacobs Beauty — Enamored (With Pride) Hydrating Lip Gloss Stick
Available in 5 new shades, each sheer lip gloss melts onto the lips with every swipe, providing a long-lasting, high-shine finish. Infused with Kahai Oil and Vitamin E, the creamy formula will keep your lips feeling fresh and moisturised all day. This year, Marc Jacobs Beauty will be donating to SAGE, the world’s largest and oldest organisation that is dedicated to the older LGBTQ+ community, and Le Refuge, a French organisation that works to provide shelter and support to LGBTQ+ youth to prevent isolation and suicide.
The Enamored (With Pride) Hydrating Lip Gloss Stick (USD29) is available at marcjacobsbeauty.com.
2. Face Halo — Love Is Love Face Halo (Limited Edition)
Using HaloTech fibres, the Face Halo quickly and easily removes makeup with just water, without any rubbing or scrubbing! Each reusable Face Halo will last through 200 washes, and can replace up to 500 single-use makeup wipes. 5% of all proceeds from the campaign will be donated to the Trevor Project.
The Love is Love Face Halo (USD25) comes in a three-pack and is available at facehalo.com.
3. Morphe Pride Free To Be Makeup Collection
The 10G Glsen Up Artistry Palette features 5 colours with both a sparkly velvet and glitter shade each. Pair it with the A Better Whirled Brush Collection, consisting of 6 eye and face brushes with white and metallic rainbow finishes. Top the look off with their Lip Gloss in Speak Out, a translucent gloss that provides a holographic rainbow shine. Also in the collection is the Continuous Setting Mist, but that unfortunately doesn’t ship internationally. From May to July 2020, 100% of net proceeds from the Free To Be Collection will be donated to GLSEN, a New York-based nonprofit organisation.
The 10G Glsen Up Artistry Palette (USD18), A Better Whirled Brush Collection (USD26) and Lip Gloss in Speak Out (USD9) are available at morphe.com.
4. Innisfree — Spill The Equali-Tea Mini My Lip Balm Set
Featuring 6 shades of Innisfree’s multipurpose lip balms, each tinted balm can be used on your lips for a moisturising swipe of colour, or on your cheeks for a dewy sheen. Formulated with hydrating Cupuacu Butter, you can use a different balm for almost every day of the week! This Pride Month, innisfree will also be donating to the It Gets Better Project, a nonprofit organisation that aims to uplift, empower, and connect LGBTQ+ youth around the world.
The Spill The Equali-Tea Mini My Lip Balm Set (USD18) is available at innisfree.com.
5. NYX Professional Makeup — Ultimate Shadow Palette — Brights
This rainbow-coloured palette consists of sixteen pigmented eyeshadows across satin, shimmery and metallic shades. Each velvety shade can be used both wet and dry, with long-wearing colour perfect for bright and bold makeup looks. The palette is part of NYX’s year-long campaign, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community as they build a network of Proud Allies to provide the support the community deserves. The brand is currently supporting the services of the Los Angeles LGBT Center with donations, along with the volunteer services of their makeup artists.
Available at LookFantastic ($28).
Honourable Mention: M.A.C Cosmetics — VIVA GLAM
Identifiable by their hot pink casing, the VIVA GLAM lipsticks are the matte bullet lipsticks we all know and love, but 100% of the proceeds go towards an important global cause. Since 1994, proceeds from VIVA GLAM Lipstick sales have been put towards the M.A.C AIDS Fund, providing financial support to organisations around the world that provide a wide range of services to those living with HIV/AIDS. To date, over $400 million USD has been raised exclusively through the sale of VIVA GLAM Lipstick and Lipglass, 100% of it being donated to fight HIV/AIDS. More recently, they have also donated $10 million USD to provide support to vulnerable communities that have been affected by COVID-19.
VIVA GLAM I and III ($33 each) are available at M.A.C Boutiques islandwide. Click here to learn more about VIVA GLAM and the M.A.C AIDS Fund.
