There are a handful of luxury fashion labels often associated with and popularly consumed by the LGBTQ+ community. While many may argue one label over another on which stands at the top spot in queer culture, we would make a case that it indisputably belongs to Versace.
Especially so, because (racy advertising notwithstanding) the Italian label’s got a prominent fashion icon and creative director — Donatella Versace, as a Stonewall Ambassador.
And to celebrate her one year anniversary as a human and civil rights advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, Versace (the lady and the label) is launching a limited-edition Pride 2020 capsule collection!
Top row (L to R): Versace x Pride Logo Swimsuit, Versace x Pride swimsuit, Versace x Pride sports bra.
Bottom row (L to R): Versace x Pride panties, Versace x Pride women’s undershirt, Versace x Pride leggings.
This Pride 2020 collection will feature a selection of hats, accessories, sportswear — swimsuits, a sports bra, undershirts, and underwear for men and women. And they’ll only be available largely in black to highlight a prominent rainbow panel — the important iconography for LGBTQ+ — so those who are LGBTQ+ and its allies can look and feel bold in their fight for equal rights.
Top row (L to R): Versace x Pride logo bucket hat, Versace x Pride men’s undershirt, Versace x Pride logo cap.
Bottom row (L to R): Versace x Pride jockstrap, Versace x Pride trunks, Versace x Pride swim briefs.
As part of the label’s ongoing charitable initiatives, you’ll be glad to know that the sales proceeds from this collection will go to non-profit organisations such as Arcigay, Brave Space Alliance, Trans LifeLine and more, to fund campaigns and support systems for the vulnerable in the community, as well as to impact positive political and cultural change globally for those who are LGBTQ+.
L to R: Versace x Pride bracelet, Versace x Pride leather slides, Versace x Pride logo socks.
