Nike LunarEpic Flyknit

The nature of this shoe is already in its name – it’s pretty epic. If the silhouette of this shoe looks familiar to you, it’s because Nike has taken insights from the Magista, a football boot that allows the foot, ankle and lower leg to work together for a more natural and fluid movement, to create a shoe that can achieve the same sensation, but for a different purpose – running. The light and breathable Flyknit upper we’ve all come to love is incorporated into the shoe, but engineered with different densities for precise support and fit at the arch, heel and forefoot. Nike’s Flywire cables are knitted into the mid-height collar to help facilitate lockdown and for a more dynamic fit. The brand has also employed a new dual-injection technology, which uses heat to fuse two foams into one piece that features the traditional Lunarlon construction. To top it off, Nike adds laser-cut geometric pistons inspired by pressure maps of the foot onto the outsole. These pistons are made of Lunarlon foam and move individually to enable pointed compressions. Combine all of these components and you’ll have a shoe with a fit that conforms to your body for a more fluid feel. This versatile running shoe is ideal for distance workouts, progression runs or recovery runs.
