The hype over the BTS Meal aside, the beloved fast food chain is reliable for many things depending on the hour of the day, whether that’s hash browns, and hotcakes for breakfast, or nuggets and fries for a late-night snack. And they definitely know what their customers want, which explains this piece of news: McDonald’s is re-introducing their popular Chicken McCrispy®, available from 1 July 2021, 11am. The new item will also be permanently added to the McDonald’s menu.
Popular between 1998 to 2002 before the McWings, the Chicken McCrispy® differs quite substantially since it includes a chunky piece of chicken thigh and drumstick, mildly spicy, juicy, and tender on the inside, while the crispy exterior’s of a golden-brown coated skin. Essentially, everything you want from a piece of fried chicken.
“We’re really excited to bring Chicken McCrispy to our customers, and are especially proud of the taste and quality of our product,” says Drina Chee, Senior Director, Marketing & Digital Customer Experience of McDonald’s Singapore. According to the brand, the secret to the Chicken McCrispy®’s quality and taste is thanks to “its unique preparation process and cooking precision” where every step is timed to the second, in order to preserve the juiciness of the chicken.
Here are the various set meals and deals available:
1. Chicken McCrispy® (2pc) Extra Value Meal, from $8.40
Of course, there’s the classic 2-piece meal that comes with fries and a drink.
2. 6-Piece Bucket of Chicken McCrispy®, from $18.10
Perfect for sharing, McDonald’s is also introducing a six-piece bucket of Chicken McCrispy® that comes with 3 thighs and 3 drumsticks.
3. Chicken McCrispy® (6pc) Value Bundle, from $21.50
You may also complement your bucket feast with additional fries and drinks. The value bundle comes with 2 Medium Fries and 2 Small Cokes.
4. Exclusive to Lazada
From 1 – 31 July, McDonald’s will be selling vouchers exclusively on its LazMall store for the Chicken McCrispy® (6pc) Value Bundle at a special promotional price of $20.50 (U.P. from $21.50) that can be redeemed at any McDonald’s restaurant selling Chicken McCrispy® with the My McDonald’s App.
Additionally, on just 6 July, the Chicken McCrispy® (2pc) Extra Value Meal will be available for 24 hours at $7.40 (U.P from $8.40).
