Moleskine x Game of Thrones: New Notebooks, And An Epic GoT Intro Made Entirely Out Of Paper

The night is dark and full of terrors. But the day? Oh, glorious day is filled with things as delightful as this, a new Moleskine collection of Game of Thrones notebooks displaying the most noble houses of Westeros — or, our frontrunners for the Iron Throne. As of right now that is, because it’s always a “you know nothing” situation when it comes to George R. R. Martin.

Stark, Lannister or Targaryen? Go ahead, pick a side! The limited edition notebooks are created in collaboration with HBO, and pay tribute to the imagination and storytelling of the GoT universe. We get four themed notebooks, all with hard covers of silkscreen prints by designer Levente Szabò, that bear the proud sigils of the three dominant houses, as well as a collector’s edition box set that sees the Iron Throne (in flames, no less). You can bet there’ll be neat graphics on the inside too.

There’s also a video created to celebrate the launch, one that recreates the GoT intro, epic theme music and all, but with the fortress at King’s Landing constructed entirely out of paper. What is this sorcery? You’d better believe it’s better than any Lord of the Light nonsense (except for the crazy magic that’s keeping Melissandre looking this youthful at 400 years old). Created by Milan-based video and animation studio Dadomani, you get the cogs and gears turning piece-by-piece, the 3-D towers folding into itself, and then finally, as the camera pulls back, the paper pieces collapsing neatly into the notebooks.

Just remember, pledge your allegiance to the right side.
