The New Matte Liquid Lipsticks To Try

Because so many of us have an insatiable need for matte liquid lipsticks, we know you guys will appreciate new matte colours, anytime. Even if you already have five liquid lipsticks in that “perfect” shade of nude in your stash, there is always, always room for one more. So here are more matte selections that have been launched over the past few months for you to try (if you haven’t already), and stay tuned for more matte liquid lipstick roundups in the coming months – there’ll always be new ones to want.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte LipColor

revlon ultra hd matte

Revlon has always been good at doing lustworthy matte lip colours (i.e. those ColorBurst Matte Balm lip crayons), so we’re not surprised that their first matte liquid lipsticks became an instant hit upon launching recently. Among the 8 shades are some very pretty pinks and nudes, and going by the recent nude lip craze that has been going around, we predict the shade HD Seduction to be the biggest hit. We also like that this smells like mango and vanilla, and goes on super smooth with zero goopiness.
$21.90, available at Watsons and Guardian stores.

Clio Virgin Kiss Silkuid Lip Matte

For statement neon lips that’ll pop, of course we turn to the Korean brands. Clio has always done lots of super-bright lip colours, but recently they’ve really focused on the matte finish, and launched this matte liquid lipstick that comes in an offering of intense shades like electric pink and fluorescent orange. We know a neon matte lip isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but once you dare to try it, there’s no turning back.
$22.90, available at selected Watsons.

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick

This luxe formula ensures your matte lip is kept free of flaking, feathering and dry patches. What we like about this line are the rich, deep shades, like Empress, a dark aubergine, and Icon, a standout cool-toned red. We’d keep this liquid lipstick for special nights out, for the times when we want to feel extra glamorous.
$44, available at Sephora.

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick

The most obvious difference between this new offering from NYX and their famed Soft Matte Lip Creams is the out-there shades that are included in the Liquid Suede range, such as Stone Fox, a dark grey, and Amethyst, an acid purple.  Evidently, this is for when you want to make a bold statement with your lips. Not that there aren’t more “normal” shades, but we highly recommend taking a step out of your comfort zone – maybe start with Sandstorm, a light brown.
$19, available at Sephora.

M.A.C Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour

We all know M.A.C for having the widest range of lip colours out there, so we expect this new liquid matte range to rapidly increase over the coming months (the brand is known to have literally hundreds of new launches each year, after all). All 9 shades are intensely saturated so there are no wallflower shades here; even the nudes will stand out due to how pigmented the formula is.
$39, available at M.A.C stores and counters.
