It’s been 25 years since PUMA introduced their revolutionary laceless system. The Disc is a system of internal wires that will tighten the upper with just a few twists. It was released in the ’90s as a shoe for track and field, and later rolled out across other categories in the PUMA brand. It wasn’t until four years ago that the brand rehashed this classic silhouette with the release of the PUMA Disc Blaze OG “Cove” x Ronnie Fieg. Now they’re being incorporated into PUMA’s Red Bull Racing lifestyle collection as well. The Red Bull Racing Disc marks the 25th anniversary of the Disc and features a grey perforated leather upper and full bootie construction for the ultimate fit and comfort. It also comes with a smaller and lighter Disc system which consists of five parts. This new mechanic is much faster and smoother to secure and fasten as compared to the original. Other design features include PUMA’s signature Formstripe on the one side of the upper and subtle Red Bull Racing branding on the heel.
PUMA x Red Bull Racing Disc, $209. Available at all PUMA retail outlets.
