Cornetto Dance Revival

Alright, this one goes out to all the Selena Gomez fans – Cornetto is giving fans one last chance to win exclusive Cornetto-Selena Gomez merchandise, and Category 1 tickets to her Revival Tour concert, happening this month. The catch? You’ve got to dance your butt off to prove you’re a worthy fan.
Take on the Cornetto Dance Revival Machine, a para para-esque dance machine that rewards you with free Cornetto ice cream for dancing for 60 seconds. But keep your fingers and toes crossed that you’re one of the lucky three to receive an exclusive Golden Lidded ice cream – dispensed only from the dance machine, and your literal golden ticket to meeting Sel herself. Only three coveted Golden Lids remain, each entitling the winner to a pair of Category 1 tickets, plus a Meet & Greet pass. Still, if you’d rather keep the dynamic fangirling to the privacy of your bedroom, there’s one last day to take part in Cornetto’s Instagram contest. Books & Co. Talk with Koh Jee Leong, Alfian Sa’at and Ovidia Yu

If you’ve ever wanted to get into the minds of our island’s literary minds, now’s your chance. Prominent Singaporean writers Koh Jee Leong, Alfian Sa’at, and Ovidia Yu are setting aside time at the National Gallery to read from their works, and share personal anecdotes on their experiences with overseas readers, editors, and publishers. Between them, the writers cover genres from fiction to poetry, to drama, crime stories, and even children’s writing. And because it’s a no-brainer how challenging it is to make an impact with Singaporean literature beyond the country, expect some pretty intense speaking on the matter – which will likely prove eye-opening for lit buffs and anyone interested in the local writing scene.

Laugh Die You – The Karaoke (R18)

Stand up for stand-up, everyone! Particularly this cheeky Malaysia vs. Singapore-slanted performance that’s shaping up to be a real class act. For two nights only, be wholly entertained as Malaysia’s Joanne Kam takes on our very own Kumar in an epic comedy showdown – featuring island-specific jokes and insults only locals will truly appreciate. Moderating it all is none other than Singapore’s comedian sweetheart Gurmit Singh himself, who’ll also be unveiling an all-new alter ego: the turbaned, twisty moustached Hero Singh – a law-abiding security guard who happens to really love singing. The karaoke segment comes in with Malaysia’s fast-rising rock band Hydra, who’ll be churning out the Greatest Karaoke hits during intervals in the three-hour event; so come with well-rested lungs, a thirst for wisecracks, and some real thick skin.
