Britney Spears
After that incredible medley of some her greatest hits on the 2016 Billboard Music Awards, the Princess of Pop is back to soar to the top of the charts once more, this time with help from Californian rapper G-Eazy. The track, Make Me…, is the first single off her upcoming ninth studio album, and Spears even had a hand in writing it alongside producer BURNS, Joe Janiak and G-Eazy. With six Billboard Music Awards already under her belt, as well as a Millennium Award which she received this year, recognizes her outstanding career achievements and influence in the music industry, Britney’s not backing down anytime soon. Hold on to your crown, Madonna.
Snakehips ft. Zayn
Coveted UK producers Snakehips have teamed up with global superstar Zayn for their new single Cruel, following the smash-hit success of the latter’s debut solo album “Mine of Mine”. You’re probably familiar with Snakehips’ work from All My Friends, the chart-topping, Ivor Novello winning single featuring Chance The Rapper and Tinashe. Touted as the UK’s answer to R&B, their trademark summery, glitchy new-school sound blends perfectly with Zayn’s smooth vocals, so expect to hear this song everywhere in the following weeks.
Nathan Hartono
While he’s already making waves abroad for the competition Sing! China, local singer-songwriter sweetheart Nathan Hartono also recently dropped his brand new single Electricity, after a long-awaited three years. The highly-anticipated single will be available on all digital platforms on 22 July, but don’t fret, the music video is already here! Directed by Hirzi Zulkiflie (of Munah and Hirzi), co-directed by Tree Potatoes’ Janice Chiang, and featuring 987FM’s DJ Kimberly Wang, the video features some super retro suits and amusingly snazzy choreography, in line with the song’s theme of bubbly infatuation. And we’re definitely not the only ones loving the release; views for the MV have soared to almost 60,000 in just two weeks!
