Once in a while, a beauty product launch actually manages to make our breaths catch a little (no mean feat, trust us, considering the sheer number of items that pass through our desks each week), and we actually can’t wait to try it.
That’s how the NARS Velvet Lip Glide made us feel. As you’ve probably guessed from its appearance, yes, it’s a liquid lipstick that comes in a rectangular clear tube, so the colours show plainly, topped off with the signature black NARS cap – all very minimalist, which always adds to the appeal.
In terms of how the product looks on the skin, yes, it goes on like velvet, all thanks to the Oil Infusion Complex that allows the formula to slide right onto the skin, drying into a semi-glossy finish with a saturated colour payoff. The range includes a comprehensive 12 shades, beginning from Stripped, a barely-there beige pink, all the way to Area, a bold rich chestnut.
