Vans Officially Unveils The Toy Story Collection and it's Sublime!

Just a few days ago, Vans dropped a huge nostalgia bomb on all of us by releasing a cheeky teaser on its upcoming Toy Story collab with Pixar (the leaked images didn’t help either).
Needless to say, we were bouncing off the wall (no pun intended) with excitement. But now, our excitement has turned into joy with the news that the entire collection has officially been released!
Sneakers, of course, are the main draw in this sentimental line-up. There’s the Sk8-Hi Reissue PT, the Old Skool, as well as the Authentic – with each footgear’s design inspired by leather and denim look of Woody, everybody’s favourite stuffed cowboy.

Buzz Lightyear also has his own special series – there’s a spacey-looking Sk8-Hi Reissue and a seriously classy green and white Old Skool. Other characters like Hamm, Slinky Dog, Rex, Bo Peep, and the Pizza Planet get their own pairs of kicks too. But big surprise people, Sid’s mutant toys are featured as well!
“We all grew up watching [the movie] and are still huge Pixar fans today,” Dabney Lee, Vans’ senior director of global footwear merchandising, told Refinery29. “We thought it would be a great way to continue the magic of this longstanding partnership.”
We couldn’t agree more. Vans has expertly re-engineered the essence of the Toy Story movies, and made us remember why we loved watching them in the first place.
Not everything will be in your face though. Subtler design aspects like Andy’s childhood bedroom wallpaper and the scribbling of “Andy” on each pair’s waffle sole have been incorporated into the collection’s overall aesthetics, which is a pretty nice touch from the American skate company.
Want to take a stroll down memory lane and get your hands on this nostalgic collection? It’ll be available at all Vans Singapore stores and selected wholesale stores from 7^th October 2016 onwards. Footwear will retail from $69 to $139 and apparel prices start at $19.
