We’re used to the Fenty Puma by Rihanna collections pushing us to wear things we normally wouldn’t even try. Furry slippers? Suddenly a whole lot more fashion-forward than sloppy when Rihanna does it. Suede sneakers? Instantly cooler than canvas or leather, if the Fenty Puma stamp is on them.
But this latest accessory launch by the brand might finally have proven just a bit too unusual for us. Meet the Bomber Jacket Backpack:
The Puma site describes it as being “designed to be unique, eye-catching and extraordinarily cozy”. We can’t argue with any of those characteristics, but what we can’t call it is practical. At first glance, we assumed that this piece would function as both a backpack and a bomber jacket (as its name also implies) – which would make it extremely handy for winter holidays – but on closer inspection, the reality is that the bomber jacket sleeves are merely sewn onto the sides of the backpack, so you can’t put your arms in them.
Alright, then. Maybe we’re not that surprised, considering how easily we took to furry pool slides, and bandanna caps. So the question is… would you spend hundreds of dollars on this backpack with bomber jacket arms that comes Rihanna-approved?
