Here's What's Happening This Weekend

Mayday Parade Live in Singapore
content_maaay
Hailing from Tallahassee, Florida, Mayday Parade is a five-piece pop-punk band that graduated from the school of hard knocks. For instance, when they first started out as newbies, they tirelessly walked through numerous parking lots at Vans Warped Tour to sell their CDs to anyone who would listen. Now, those humble days are a thing of the past, with four studio albums to their name and over a decade of performance experience. The quintet will be heading to Singapore this month to rock the stage at LUXI.
Date: 16 October 2016
Time: 7pm
Venue: LUXI, St. James Power Station
Admission: $79 (early bird), $89

It’s almost impossible to not to fall in love with Daniela Andrade. The 23 year old singer/songwriter began her career like so many of today’s modern artists – she started a Youtube channel in 2008 – but she’s won over the hearts of many with her silky smooth vocals and her covers of popular songs like Radiohead’s Creep and Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy. This month, fans can look forward to seeing her take the stage as part of The Gathering concert series, which previously brought in big name acts like Tenacious D, Empire of the Sun, The Flaming Lips and Chvrches.
Date: 17 October 2016
Time: 7pm
Venue: Suntec City Singapore Convention and Exhibiton Centre Hall 606.

Morrissey Returns To Singapore
2-2
Crude. Theatrical. Talented. Symbolic even. There have been many things said about Morrissey as an artist, and as a person, but there is no denying he’s one hell of a singer. A giant in the indie rock and Britpop scene, Morrissey was the lead singer of The Smiths, before he embarked on a wildly successful solo career that included 49 singles and 12 albums. Fans can catch him take over the environs of Marina Barrage for a one-night-only concert, but do snap up those tickets quick though. His last performance in Singapore was completely sold out!
Date: 15 October 2016
Time: 8pm
Venue: Marina Barrage
Admission: $108
Tickets available at SISTIC.
Starring Hitler as Jekyll and Hyde
1469152054003
There’s no denying that Hitler played a huge role in history. But what if he had an alter ego, Jekyll and Hyde-style? Well, that’s exactly what this play is all about – exploring the German’s life as Führer in an alternative manner. For instance, in the play, the ‘Jekyll” Hitler is the maniacal dictator we all know, but his “Hyde” personality reveals an artistic, yet narcissistic side where he commissions artworks to pay homage to himself. The play’s controversial, yes. Nonetheless, it’s still extremely relevant, especially in today’s hazardous climate of xenophobia and social tension.
Date: 13 – 15 October 2016
Time: 8pm
Venue: Victoria Theatre
Admission: $35 onwards
Tickets available at SISTIC.
