We’re pretty sure you recall that Phoenix Neon Glowing hair from last November. Those bright, fiery locks looked gorgeous in daylight, but they looked especially mesmerising under blacklight, taking the rainbow hair trend to a whole new level of fierce. This year, it seems that glow-in-the-dark hair is quickly catching on to becoming one of the biggest hair trends thus far.
Prepare to be amazed by the fluorescent Lite Brite hair.
If you’ve ever played with the light-up toy as a child, this masterful combination of hair colours will surely take you back in time. Much like Guy Tang’s creation last year, Lite Brite hair illuminates when it’s placed under a blacklight, and was created by colourist Neal Malek, who was the contest winner of Pravana 2016 Show Us Your Vivids. He transformed makeup artist Ashley Wagner by giving her blonde hair a little psychedelic treatment.
Using a combination of Pravana Neons, Vivids, and Pastel hair colours, Neal achieved that edgy, colour-blocked look with 11 shades that don’t bleed into one another. The gorgeous hues he used included pastels like Blissful Blue, Pretty in Pink, and Too Cute Coral. However, the ChromaSilk Neons in Green, Pink, Orange, and Yellow were the show-stopping shades that gave her hair a jolts of illuminating colour.
