The BAPE x NEIGHBORHOOD X adidas Originals Superstar Boost Uses Every Trick in The Book

We’re usually on board with the sneakers that Adidas releases, but we have to admit that we’re kind of on the fence with this one. Hot off the heels of their much hyped NMD collaboration last year, adidas Originals and BAPE are back at it again, and have brought streetwear brand NEIGHBORHOOD into the mix to redesign the Adidas Superstar. They’re definitely not holding back this time, though.

The collaboration sees the brand with the three stripes equipping the classic Superstar silhouette with practically everything they have in their arsenal — the upper features a dusty pink suede and Primeknit combination, while the sole makes use of Adidas’ signature Boost technology. The most notable addition, however, has got to be the plugs on the medial side of the shoe, which is definitely a design choice taken from the NMD. It might just be the plugs, but the sneaker feels less like a Superstar and more like a combination of several Adidas shoes, which could be a good or bad thing depending on who you ask.

The BAPE x NEIGHBOURHOOD x adidas Originals Superstar Boost will be dropping on the 4th of February, and based on their previous collaboration it might be a little tricky to get your hands on this one. When it comes to sneakers, is it possible to have too much of a good thing? With this release, we’re inclined to say yes.
