We’ve recently fell head over heels for the PUMA Basket Heart and it’s oversized ribbon laces, but the unfortunate truth about statement sneakers is that they probably won’t go with everything in our wardrobes (although that never stopped us from getting them anyway). If you’ve ever thought of rocking the silhouette in a much more versatile fashion, then you might be interested in the Basket Heart’s recently-introduced cousin, the PUMA Basket Strap.
Decked in a “Natural Vachette” colourway — which is a actually just a fancier way of saying “beige” — the sneaker trades in the ribbons for three retro-inspired velcro straps, which, in addition to being a lot more subtle, probably makes it a lot easier to put on as well. Made with a luxurious “exotic skin” material, the signature stripe found on the side of most PUMA sneakers also appears in a low-key dotted pattern, and everything sits on top of a clean white midsole that transports us back to our secondary school days.
The PUMA Basket Strap — which is also available in white — has already been released internationally, and can be bought at select online retailers. We’re pretty sure that velcro straps are making a comeback, so if you want to jump on that trend early, these might be the sneakers for you.
