You might have noticed that Puma has been making a comeback in the sneaker game recently, and if you ask us, it would be fair to say that their ongoing partnership with Rihanna has played some part in that resurgence. The high-profile collaboration that brought us the popular Fenty Creeper generated a fair amount of hype for the brand and paved the way for the silhouettes like the Basket Heart and Basket Strap, and now the pop star is unveiling an entirely new sneaker for her upcoming third Fenty collection.
While the Fenty Creeper bore a passing resemblance to Puma’s other models, this currently unnamed sneaker rocks a much chunkier, Air Max-esque aesthetic, and the entire shoe is draped in tonal dusty pink or olive colourways for a trendy look. Considering that the Basket Heart is one of Puma’s more popular silhouettes, it’s no surprise that these kicks have adopted the oversized satin bow laces for a statement look as well.
If you were a fan of the extravagant Fenty Sliders, you’ll also be happy to know that an updated version — also topped with bow laces — is set to be released as well. Both will see a limited international release next week on the 9th of March, alongside the rest of the collection. Do we need these in our already overflowing shoe collections? Probably not, but do we WANT them? Definitely yes.
