Don’t get us wrong: we’re just as excited as you for the upcoming live-action Beauty and The Beast movie, but the seemingly endless number of collaborations might be getting out of hand. In the last month alone we’ve seen Beauty and the Beast-themed jewellery, makeup, clothes and shoes showing up on our newsfeeds, and it looks like Asics is the next to get in on the trend with yet another sneaker collection.
The collection’s three GEL-LYTE sneakers are modelled after the film’s two main characters — the titular beast and Belle before and after her princess transformation —and while the thematic colourways were already enough to get us on board (we’re particularly fond of the ultra-elegant white ones), the real standout feature is the fact that these kicks use actual fabrics and patterns from costumes worn in the film. If that doesn’t make these the the ultimate shoes for a Beauty and the Beast fan, we don’t know what will.
Asics hasn’t revealed a release date for these limited edition beauties (get it?), but you can sign up for their mailing list to be notified on when they’ll drop. Either way, you can be sure that these will be a hard one to cop, so you should start hoping that your fairy godmother shows up right about now.
