It’s become clear that tonal and metallic colourways are the big sneaker trends of 2017, but with new collections being released literally every week, it looks like Vans is looking to take the statement look one step further to set themselves apart from the competition. After driving sneakerheads off the wall with their recent “Passion Pack”, the skate brand is once again teaming up New York-based retailer Opening Ceremony for another “Glitter Pack” that’s pretty much guaranteed to be a hit.
Once again using the classic Old School LX silhouette, the collection’s three sneakers in are decked in semi-tonal pink, blue and grey colourways, with the laces and signature Jazz Stripe in contrasting colours to add some variation. As the collection’s name implies, the standout feature is the glitter that covers the entire shoe, which creates a truly unique look that’s sure to net you some nods of approval (and lowkey envy) on the street. Who would have known that adding primary school art supplies to sneakers would look so good?
The Vans x Opening Ceremony “Glitter Pack” is exclusively available right now at the Opening Ceremony website, with a price tag of $167. If brands are going to keep upping the ante in terms of sneaker design, we can’t wait to see how our kicks are going to look like by the end of the year.
