These Minimalist Footwear Are So Sleek, You'd Want To Cop Them All Now

There’s nothing to not love about minimalism. The style is fuss-free, it’s clean-cut, it doesn’t require much thought putting together, and it can look both bold and subtle. Minimalism is great, and we absolutely adore it.
And so do many style gurus. Which is precisely the reason why there will always be a market for minimalist pieces.
Canadian-based brand Frank + Oak has very cleverly cashed in on this market. They specialise in nailing perfectly crisp men’s apparel (think the classic oxford shirt and tees), and recently took a shot at a women’s line, which garnered them tons of praise for their mastery in millennial chic. And after that very exciting collection, they’re taking their first step into minimalist footwear, which obviously, is tingling all of our minimalist nerves.

As expected, the silhouettes are sleek and simple — they don’t even have visible branding on the exterior of the footwear, only a simple tag on the insoles of the shoes. The colour range is perfect too, from blush to mint green, white to rose gold.

There are a couple of styles available: the Park, a low-top leather sneaker crafted meticulously with premium Italian leather and calfskin lining; very Common Projects-esque. There’s then the Gallery blocked-heel pump, that comes in bolder shades for perfectly colour-blocked outfits, and the Jardin leather espadrille that looks incredibly chic and comfy. They’ll be priced at US$100 to US$130, which honestly (and thankfully), isn’t *that* expensive for elevated, quality basics.
