The Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Gets Fitted With Flyknit

Sneaker trends will come and go, but you can always depend on a good ol’ pair of Chuck Taylor All-Stars for a timeless look that simply can’t go wrong. After Nike bought over Converse way back in 2003, the iconic kicks have since received a rather significant upgrade in the form of a comfy lunarlon insole, and now it’ll be the first shoe outside of the Nike catalogue to be fitted with the swoosh brand’s signature Flyknit technology. If any sneaker deserves that esteemed privilege, it’s definitely this one.

Debuting in the high-top version of the shoe, these sneakers hit the ground running with a variety of colours including black, white, red, blue and mint. Thanks to the Flyknit construction, the upper now sports a modern mesh-covered aesthetic, and on the practical side of things is made more lightweight as well (considering how light the original Chucks already were, these are probably the closest thing you’ll get to walking on air). Of course, signature features such as the detailing on the front of the midsole and the All-Star logo on the side are kept intact, and it all comes together to create a look that’s both classic and contemporary at the same time.

If you want to get your hands on this welcome update of a true classic, you thankfully won’t have to wait very long — the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star II Flyknit will see an international release on the 27th of April, and you can probably expect it to hit our shores as well. Considering the countless variations we’ve seen throughout the years, we can’t wait to see these kicks drop in even more colours and — more importantly — a low top version too. Fingers crossed!
