You know how in this digital age, we’re expected to embrace technology and all its convenience, like Uber, Deliveroo, and online shopping? No doubt, we love everything about the last one, and can spend hours browsing through sites, keeping about 30 tabs open at once, but that’s just it — everything’s in pixels, and nothing beats the real experience of going down to an actual shop. Though it seems like real-life retail therapy’s taking a backseat these days, we say, it’s a good thing! Less crowds, less lines, and more time for you to peacefully browse through the aisles.
If you’re looking for a good place to revive your love for shopping, it’s time to head down to Suntec City, an integrated lifestyle mall that has a surprising edge, since it houses plenty of up-and-coming fashion brands or multi-label stores as well. Most people know it for Uniqlo and H&M, which happen to front the mall, or even their array of dining options but we challenge you to dig deeper — go a little unconventional. If you’re looking for unique fashion finds that stand out, here’s where you ought to shop at.
5:5
So, the new kid in town, 5:5 already starts off with a strong concept — they’re a Korean multi-label online concept store that carries mostly independent labels, many here for the first time, in limited quantities of 25 pieces for them to remain exclusive. And then, we hear about their pop-up store. Rather than just clothes on a rack, every part of the store design is meant to draw you in, and keep you there. This one’s no different; each of the five spaces in the store has its own theme, from Pink Permeated with its shades of bubblegum and blush, plus its own subtle aroma, while Ready Set Glow is like a scene out of Tron, with colourful fluorescent tubes to complement the futuristic clothing.
As for the brands, we’ve got our eye on the fluid lines of Sculptor, Brown Breath, a streetwear label that does plenty of exciting collaborations with contemporary figures, and the pop culture-friendly threads of Salad Bowls, famous for having their tongue-in-cheek designs worn by K-pop girl groups, including I.O.I, Dal Shabet and Ladies’ Code. Then, you also have a range of accessories, such as SALUT DE MIEL, accessories that convey the strength and elegance of the modern women, and the retro-style eyewear of K-pop stars, Lápiz Sensible. Do check out their in-house apparel brand NU as well, and older sister eyewear brand Visual Mass. NU brings curated designs based off the latest trends in Seoul for the minimalist millennia — plus, new designs are out every two weeks to keep you in the K-fashion frontline.

Nikkie
From talking about pop stars, we move on to the silver screen — this time, Dutch actress Nikkie Plessen and her daring foray into fashion. Founded in 2011, her self-titled label took Europe by storm before finally arriving at our shores not too long ago, with her range of feminine, sexy and edgy pieces done in luxe materials, all extensions of her personal style. Nikkie’s label’s flagship has opened its doors at Suntec City, and you can find a mix of casual wear, cocktail dresses, and shirts, often with tongue-in-cheek graphics that reflect her love for statement clothing.
A striped dress in bright pops of colour is understated and fashion-forward all at once, thanks to its high collar, while you won’t often see a leather skirt in this striking a shade of red. Pair that with one of her famous slogan tees, and you’re set to take on the day without looking like you tried at all.

Reebonz
It’s pretty normal nowadays to have fashion labels also fronting e-stores to keep up with the competition, but how about e-commerce brands breaking into the physical realm? We’re glad to say that wildly successful local start-up, Reebonz, has done just the latter, now with a luxurious multi-brand boutique parked at Suntec City’s North Atrium. If you don’t already know, the brand started out as one of the earliest luxury e-commerce platforms, with the goal to make luxury more accessible — it’s a haven if you’re looking for high-end pieces at discounted prices; they do this by buying and selling new or pre-owned fashion items from designer labels, which we buy because they’re a trusted source that curate their goods.
Here, you’ll find big-name brands including Prada, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Kenzo and Givenchy, mostly in the form of bags, shoes, and small leather goods, in case you’re springing for a new wallet. We’re told that the boutique has also recently undergone a facelift, and what you’ll be walking into now is a stylish, contemporary space that’s ripe for your Instagram feed, and a wonderful shopping experience, if anything.
Reebonz is also giving NYLON readers a *5% off total bill (*T&Cs apply) when you mention NYLONMAG during checkout at the Suntec City store, from now till end of May!
Time to treat yourself!

W.E. Révolte
Here’s adding another multi-label store to our list, and in no way are we bored! Compared to the more fun, often streetwear-inspired threads offered by Actually and 5:5, Révolte is more inclined to impeccably tailored fashion, with labels that have a keen eye on thoughtful details while still remaining effortlessly stylish — think OL, but miles more fashion-savvy. You’ll get your basics of a white shirt, or an A-line dress, but don’t expect them to be boring; many of the designers including Annex A and local brand Eight Slate, know how to take these timeless wardrobe pieces, and inject them with a modern twist.
Both a lace top and white shirt take on this season’s hottest trend, statement sleeves; the feminine number plays on peplum frills that curve out like lilies, while the crisp shirt comes with voluminous balloon sleeves, which you might wanna pair with draped pants for extreme power play.
You also get to enjoy 10% off for the months of May and June when you flash this page.

Straits Establishment
In case you feel we’re leaving out the boys on this one, nope, we can’t afford to ignore the rise in menswear boutiques here — thankfully, Straits Establishment exists to satisfy guys’ penchant for good style, by bringing in lesser-known brands from Southeast Asia and around the world, to this store of theirs. It’s here that they house top-quality products that have an air of classic menswear, though not stuffy suits, but fashionable items that exist that deserve to exist in our modern realm.
Complete your style from head to toe and have yourself walking on luxury in Egyptian mercerised cotton socks – these have a soft touch, wear cool and come with a strong ribbing. Both comfortable and totally breathable, you’ll find that Viccel dress socks are the hallmark of a quality sock, and a must in men’s sartorial fashion. As for this stylish jacket by the cult Indonesian menswear label, Elhaus, it manages to take inspiration from classic military designs, while making it sleek for daily wear; the brand’s known for their rough-and-tough patchwork kimono jackets as well, which combine the best of Eastern and Western influences.

The Social Foot
You know how obsessed people get over sneakers. Case in point: we post about a couple of new sneaker drops everyday, and still, people are buying them like crazy. So, it’s no wonder multi-label concept stores — dedicated to mostly sneakers — are able to thrive here, there’s just a huge, never-ending demand for sporty kicks. For the latest in sneaker fashion and even limited editions lines, you’ll wanna drop by The Social Foot, since they regularly stock curated sneakers from just 12 brands, from heavyweights like Adidas, to super hard-to-find pieces that are sought after the world over.
It’s here that you’ll find your favourite brands such as Reebok Classic, Adidas Originals, Saucony Originals, PUMA, Ked’s and more — everything from the weekend casual of the Ked’s x Kate Spade shoes, to the sporty Reebok Zoku Runner Ultraknit that’ll keep you stylish on your next gym visit. What’s more, there’s a laser engraving machine that’s exclusive to the Suntec store as well, complimentary for all sneaker purchases, so you can stamp your own initials on your next pair of trendy footwear.

Actually
We always want to buy something at ACTUALLY, and the brand knows this far too well too — hence, our Instagram feeds flooded with cute iron-on patches, caps, and constant revisions of the ubiquitous sustainable Kånken bags by Fjällräven. Don’t tempt us! First opened in 2006, the multi-label store prides itself on introducing streetwear and contemporary brands that are trendy, while also presenting fun, quirky labels that never take themselves too seriously. Their Suntec City store is actually the biggest pop-up store to date, which just means you get more things to buy under one roof.
Look at Lazy Oaf for instance, and just try to resist smiling at their cute graphic dresses and sweaters. Labels like FREITAG go for a unique cause, crafting accessories and bags from original recycled materials such as used truck tarps and seat belts, while Kult’s tees include localised slogans such as “Balestier Galactica” in place of the iconic Battlestar Galactica icon.
Also, give their 8 post-internet vibe tees a look. Their in-house brand, net.club, was inspired by the continuation of the overwhelming influence of the internet to society, so many will resonate with the familiar graphics and phrases intricately embroidered on the tees. You’ll never be bored by their selection, and they’re easier on our wallets as well.
