Nike's Latest Air Max 90 Flyknit is a Refreshing Pop of Colour

When it comes to sneakers in 2017, the biggest trends seem to have gravitated towards rocking a rather uniform look — whether it’s monochromatic, metallic or iridescent kicks, brands have more often than not been draping their shoes in a single primary colour, and even a pair of pink / grey or gradient sneakers are so subtle in their transitions that they might as well be considered a single shade. At this point the smart thing to do would be to go in the opposite direction with an extremely loud colourway, which is exactly what Nike has done with their latest pair of Air Max 90 Flyknit’s…and we’re absolutely loving it.

Right off the bat, the sneaker’s Primeknit upper is covered in a blend of pink, purple and blue to immediately set itself apart from the crowd, and drapes the swoosh and Air Max logo in a pastel pink for some added vibrancy. Where things get really interesting is on the heel tab, midsole and lace area, which has been covered in a purpleish blue a that gives the kicks a retro vibe. Based on the product pictures alone you’d think that such a mishmash of colours wouldn’t work, but when paired together with some black jeans everything comes together to create an eye-catching, contrasting look that works surprisingly well.

These colourful Air Max 90 Flyknit’s are available right now, and as usual can be copped online at select Nike stockists such as Titolo for US$210. Rocking a pair of these kicks is certainly a risky fashion choice, but if you flex it with enough confidence you might just end up being the most fashionably unique pair of kicks in the room…and who knows? You might just start a sneaker revolution at the same time.
