Adidas Gives The Stan Smith Another "Easy Blue" Update

Sneakerheads are a fickle bunch (we should know), but if those colourful, paddle pop-esque Stan Smiths we saw last week were any indication it looks like Adidas might be embarking on a mission to update the iconic tennis shoe in an attempt to keep it relevant in the ever-changing sneaker game. As we’ve come to expect by now, the brand with the three stripes is wasting no time with the release of yet another “Easy Blue” colourway, and while these kicks admittedly aren’t as eye-catching as its predecessor, we can nonetheless see ourselves copping a pair of these babies.

Unlike last week’s mesh-covered iteration, these kicks opt for a much more traditional Stan Smith aesthetic, but still manage to shake things up by revamping the sides of the shoe — instead of the silhouette’s signature dotted stripes, the sneaker opts for of a multitude of perforations, creating a nice 3D effect that we’re definitely digging. As the name implies, the suede upper is draped in a cool baby blue with gold detailing on the heel and tongue for a nice bit of contrast, while the lower half sports a complimentary white sole to accentuate the already clean look. Kudos to staying committed to the monochromatic look, Adidas.

The adidas Originals Stan Smith “Easy Blue” is available right now, and can be bought online at select Adidas stockists such as Xtreme for 95 Euros, which roughly converts to 145 Singapore dollars. Considering how pretty much everyone owns a pair of OG Stan Smiths by now, a steady stream of aesthetic updates is a very smart of keeping us coming back for more, and we can’t wait to see what Adidas is going to come up with next.
