These Disco Lashes Are The New Essentials To Any Music Festival

We’re giving infinite nods of approval to uses of technology that take our favourite beauty accessories up a notch. Say hi to the first-of-its-kind LED-powered fake lashes that basically light up into a neon party on your peepers. We know, sounds almost insane right? But disco lashes — yes, that’s what we’re calling them now — are soon becoming the next big thing to don at your upcoming music festivals and club parties. It’s about time cultural appropriation took a step back (we’re serious here) and instead have the attention directed, in a more positive way, at your party peepers instead.

Now, as per all tech swag, these falsies, as nifty as they look, still require some sort of power source to keep them blinking neon all night long. The designer behind these F.Lashes, Tien Phan, showed that a battery pack has to be clipped to the back of your head via super thin wires, that apparently could only be seen if someone is close enough to kiss you. So that effectively eliminates any chances you looking like a destroyed Terminator — which honestly, isn’t that bad a look for a techno fest. But moving on: despite needing a battery pack, Phan ensures that these lashes still remain lightweight, and will not hinder any of your outrageous dance moves.
And that’s not even all. These disco lashes actually react to how you tilt or groove to the beat — that means as you get in the mood, two other modes will be activated: the Dance mode, where a strobe-light effect takes place to ensure that your lashes blink according to the song’s tempo, and Sparkle, where the lashes take the liberty of twinkling randomly like sparkly glitter.

There’s no special way to applying these lashes, all that’s needed is your usual lash glue and an amped up party mode. The disco lashes turn themselves on automatically *wink* and Phan mentioned that you won’t even realise when they’ve started blinking neon. They are that fluttery, just like actual falsies, but a hundred times more extra. Pick your poison — there are currently six shades available — in pink, red, blue, light blue, yellow and white. Just one question though Phan, where’s the rainbow version?
A small caveat applies: these lashes can only last for up to four hours, before the battery runs out. But fret not, should you be partying till dawn — these battery packs are easily replaceable so you can still keep your eyes looking extra sparkly all night long.
F.Lashes will be launching on Kickstarter in mid-July. Sign up here to be notified when they’re up.
