Recently, we’ve been seeing stars. Not because we’re feeling dizzy and no, we’re not talking about the non-existent stars in Singapore skies. The stars we’re talking about are making an appearance in the closets of the fashion community, from chiffon dresses, accessories, booties to face stickers. The trend has been around for a while now but it isn’t as prominent here in Singapore. We will be doing our readers wrong if we did not blog about this glitzy and magical trend that is so popular right now and we are determined to turn your closet into a star-studded one.
1. Lingerie
We love our lacy bralettes but we’re gonna start stocking up on these star-spangled ones that add a hint of cheekiness to our lingerie collection. And if we are going to spend $100 on a cute bralette, we are going to show it off. The exposed bra trend is everywhere right now and there are so many ways to subtly have it peeking through. Slip on an oversized muscle tank top so the sides of your bralette can be seen or wear it underneath the choker deep v-neck t-shirt that Kendall Jenner made so popular . If you are daring enough, wear your bralette under a mesh bodysuit and throw over a bomber jacket. Ultimately, wear what is comfortable for you.
2. Chiffon and Satin Blouses
We often see retailers pairing these sparkling stars with materials like chiffon and satin and we think it’s not without good reason. Chiffon gives off a dreamy effect while satin’s reflective material somewhat resembles the galaxy. Anyhow, both materials go well with denim jeans which makes for a great outfit when out on a date or an afternoon picnic.
3. Jackets and sweaters
The classic black leather jacket is a statement piece which we will rarely ever wear out in Singapore because it’s summer here all year long. But if we ever get a chance to wear it when we travel overseas, we are going to go big with a star-embellished one or go home. Besides, a star-adorned piece will guarantee you that Instagram worthy shot.
Don’t feel like dressing up whenever it rains? Avoid looking underdressed by snuggling into this satin star sweatshirt which you can pair with a mesh tulle skirt or a metallic midi. We really want to cop Kendall Jenner’s star jeans but we have to admit that the position of the star is holding us back albeit it being intentional. 6. Shoes
Finally, we’ve reached the shoes. See, we told ya that every brand has jumped on the bandwagon. Our favourite has to be the lace up sandals by Steve Madden, which actually resembles a constellation of stars.
