I’m Heading to Seoul for Chanel and Really Looking Forward to It (Obviously).

By Adele Chan

The first thing I ever bought from Chanel was a “double C” logo pendant necklace for my mom; that was back in the 90s when I was a teenager and that small pendant was probably the only thing I could afford in the store. Today, it’s no secret that I’m a fan of Chanel. There’s always a little piece of the brand somewhere in my daily wardrobe; it can be an emoji brooch on my cardigan, a classic pair of black boots that I’m really proud of (I queued an hour in Hong Kong just to enter the store), or in today’s case, my liquid eyeliner. So I’m particularly excited about an upcoming trip to Seoul next week where I’m going to discover Chanel through the latest chapter of the “Mademoiselle Privé” exhibition.
Google “Mademoiselle Privé” and on the first page of results you’ll see links to the first exhibition held in London at the Saatchi Gallery back in 2015. It was an immersive experience where viewers journey through the origins of Gabrielle Chanel’s creations, with an impressive display of Haute Couture, High Jewellery, and the iconic Chanel No5. On the 23rd of this month, the next instalment of the exhibition opens at the D Museum in Seoul. The focus from the first exhibition will still remain, but will be enhanced with a brand new concept that includes “digital dynamism” and “Korean touches” (says the press release).
Here’s the teaser:

And here’s another teaser, but cuter:

I can’t say exactly what’s going to be digital, dynamic or Korean about this showcase, but I will find out next week. So follow us on Instagram and Facebook @nylonsg to see live updates from my preview in Seoul.
Also, this chapter of the exhibition is exclusively showing in Seoul, so if you happen to be travelling there this or next month, I recommend adding this to your itinerary. Admission is free, but booking is required through the Mademoiselle Privé app.

Also, it just so happens that Singapore Airlines is running Fare Deals right now, and Economy return tickets to Seoul are from $598. Here are the fare conditions:
