Good ol’ Converse clinched itself yet another makeover, this time with Brazilian designer Patricia Bonaldi for a limited edition pack that features bright, vibrant hibiscus flower motifs, synonymous with the sunny vibe of São Paulo, Brazil. We’ve seen the versatile Converse canvas take on many iterations — fur, monochrome, with Looney Toons, with Comme des Garçons… and this is the second time the brand has taken on a floral theme — the first time courtesy of Brazil-based designer PatBo as well.
Delicate illustrations of the hibiscus, a native flower of São Paulo, clads the entire upper of the shoe, abstractly tessellated in themed tones of indigo and violet, white and turquoise. The muted aubergine colourway comes in a Hi model, while the Ox silhouette will feature a brighter, and more summery theme. The flowers will be outlined with gilded yarn for a touch of sparkle and opulence, while lending them a soft metallic effect. Both footwear are completed with white midsoles.
Both models are already available on converse.com and selected Converse retail outlets at US$135 a pair. No news as to whether they’ll be available in Singapore yet, but do watch this space for updates.
