Star Wars fans, head down to ION Orchard this September you shall.
The force will be strong over there thanks to a mega 10-day Star Wars festival organised by ReedPOP and The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia, with a line-up of exciting activities ready to transport you to a galaxy far, far away.
Taking place between 1 to 10 September, starting at the stroke of midnight, the festival will lead up to a grand finale at the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) from 9 to 10 September, where there’ll be a dedicated Star Wars zone featuring fan-built vehicles, games, releases, and collectibles.
Before that though, the ION Orchard version has plenty of stuff to check out as well. For instance, fans can snap pictures with the first ever installation of the Millennium Falcon in Southeast Asia at ION’s outdoor event space – perfect for the gram’ we reckon.
Other cool stuff to look out for includes Padawan Training; where kiddos aged between 4 to 12 get to practice their Jedi skills, while the world’s most adorable droid, BB-8, will be rollicking about in a special virtual reality experience station at Basement 4.
And of course, no proper Star Wars festival would be complete without exclusive merch, something there’ll be an abundance of thanks to retail partnerships with Toys “R” Us, Simply Toys, and Taiwan-based toymaker Beast Kingdom, with their famed 3.5-metre tall AT-ACT Walker.
Even better, everything activity is FREE.
This isn’t the first full-scale Star Wars festival in Singapore though. Back in May, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and The Walt Disney Company organised a three-day fest at Gardens by the Bay, with roaming characters, toy collectors, a run, and a Silent Disco.
If you missed out on that one, here’s your chance to make amends. If anything, you’ve got 10-days of Star Wars-filled fun to do so!
