Good-looking cars. Even better looking celebs. Sounds like a dream come true, right?
Yeah…not quite; at least in Celebrity Car Wars – an action-packed reality TV series that pits some of Asia’s hottest celebs against each other in a battle for driving supremacy, where fame and fortune doesn’t count, and it’s all about natural instincts and pure skill.
Insert theatrical evil laughter.
The new season will feature stars like Jarrod Schulz of Storage Wars fame, as well as Filipino model, actress, and TV anchor Phoemela Baranda; Thai actress Aerin Yuktadatta; Thai actor, model, and singer Guy Ratchanont Suprakob; Malaysian comedian Harith Iskander; and Hong Kong-based model and TV personality Dominic Lau.
Like last year, Singapore-based personality Bobby Tonelli will be the show’s host, while professional racing experts like Malaysia’s Alex Yoong and the Philippines’ Gaby Dela Merced and Michele Bumgarner will impart their sage advice to contestants.
And just as you’d expect, “normal” roads are thrown out the window, with challenges taking place at unconventional locations in the Philippines, like Mount Pinatubo for example – a freaking active volcano, as well as an abandoned nuclear power plant in Bataan, and a decommissioned U.S naval base at Subic Bay.
Of course, once you take away the limelight, every celeb is just a normal human being like you and me, and things can get messy especially when bring you emotions and ego into the fold, as seen in the season two promo video below:
Whatever the case may be; whether you’re looking to catch your favourite celebs get out of their comfort zone, or steal a sneak peak at the various vehicles on display in each episode, it’s going to be one heck of a ride when the second season of Celebrity Car Wars debuts on September 4 at 9.55pm on HISTORY, StarHub TV Ch 401.
