Expect More Denim in Nike’s Upcoming Collaboration with London Cloth Company

It seems like Nike is having a serious denim moment this season, kicking off its latest obsession over the indigo-coloured material with the hand-dyed LunarEpic Flyknit, followed by the “Aizome” Nike Air Force 1s, and just having recently unveiled the Nike Air Force 1 Silhouette also in denim as part of its Floral Sequin Pack. Now, the Swoosh brand is introducing yet another denim collection, in collaboration with London Cloth Company, the only mill in the UK that weaves denim, to give three iconic Nike silhouettes the denim treatment as well.
The Nike Blazer Mid LX, Nike Cortez Classic LX, and Nike Air Max 1 LX will sport the indigo-dyed fabric on the uppers resembling a textured herringbone pattern, while indigo-coloured leather will be used for the Swoosh, heel and tongue to accentuate the denim material. To finish off, the three shoes will come with vachetta leather insoles and gold-coloured lace tips.

According to Daniel Harris, founder of LCC, the yarn used is thicker than normal denim and is rope-dyed so that the garment will “slowly accumulate wear and develop character.”
In addition, these models are designed exclusively for women, and that could be both a bad and a good thing. More shoes to buy means more money depleting, but hey, pay day is almost here, so we ain’t complaining.
