Bata Drops Freshly Coloured Pastel Kicks For its Millennial Collection

School shoes. That’s probably the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Bata. It’s a fair enough label. After all, Bata was indeed the brand that accompanied us as we shuffled into our primary school classrooms. But now, that’s all going to change thanks to the company’s latest millennial collection.
Taking style cues from the likes of Rihanna and Converse, Bata’s Autumn-Winter 2017 collection features a variety of surprisingly hype kicks, showing that the company is ready to transform from “only for school” to “too cool for school”.

Don’t believe us? Well, check this out: Bata’s Satin collection is strangely reminiscent of Rihanna’s Fenty x Puma bow shoe range, with of course, delicate bows propped onto satin-covered kicks. The only difference is that unlike RiRi’s variety; these shoes take on a more earthy tone, albeit with pastel hues.
Highlights from the Satin collection:
Gem-Embroidered Flatforms - Jet Black (1)

Gem-Embroidered Flatforms - Rosy Brown

Doughnut-Bow Loafers - Ash Grey

Doughnut-Bow Loafers - Warm Peach

Another example of Bata’s new found slickness is found in the company’s Bata Heritage collection, with high-top and low-cut sneakers that look very similar to Converse’s Chuck Taylor All Star range. You probably wouldn’t be able to tell difference at first sight though, unless you’re a true blue sneaker snob that is.

Whatever the case may be; Bata is definitely upping its style when it comes to new kicks, and that can only be a good thing for sneaker-heads who need their new footwear fix.
