It’s been 20 years since the Sailor Moon manga ended, but the craze for Usagi Tsukino’s alter ego, Sailor Moon, and her friends is still going strong. The recent :CHOCOOLATE and Sailor Moon Collection and the opening of the first ever Sailor Moon permanent store in Harajuku in Japan just shows how much we still love the magic moon princess. We don’t even know where to begin listing out all the beauty products collaborations that are simply magical.
Wuudy, a Thai nail technician and manicurist from Bangkok, has upped the level with manicures that feature 3D figurines of Sailor Moon and her squad. Whether you are an anime fan or not, these nails are definitely to die for!
Most nail designs are usually designed on long nails, which looks good but is impractical with all the everyday tasks that require the use of our hands. Think typing, cleaning, cooking, even putting on jewellery – having long nails will instantly make all these tasks 100 times harder! Wuudy designed these figurines that are detachable so that you won’t have to worry about all the things you can’t do with long nails. The nails are superglued with magnets, which means you can snap those legs off once you’re done taking photos.
And if you are worried that these nails won’t last long, you’re wrong. Wuudy is also a bodybuilder, and has snapped himself going to gym and ‘everything else’ with them on. We tracked him on Instagram, and it’s safe to say that he has had those nails for at least 3 weeks, and they do not look any worse for wear. If it’s good enough for the gym, it’ll be good enough for everything else!
If you find the detachable Sailor Moon figurines are too much of a commitment, Wuudy also does smaller scale 3D Sailor Moon designs that are just as cute. Every single detail is so intricately designed that your nails will be the star of everyone’s attention.
We have to admit that Wuudy is one heck of a talented manicurist. Besides Sailor Moon, pretty much any of your favourite characters can become cute props on your nails! From One Piece to the adorable Gudetama and even sushi, he will instantly up your nail game.
Remember that obsession with fidget spinners? Wuudy can even include a mini fidget spinner on one of your nails so you don’t have to carry a full sized one with you everywhere. The fidget spinner is not just a prop – it even spins too (which blew our minds).
3D nail figurines is a trend that we can actually foresee in our future. The next time we head to Bangkok for some retail therapy, we are making a pitstop at Wuudy WonderNails for some hyped up manicures.
