Traveling is glorious, but it can get quite hectic. There are passports to chop, tickets to buy, visas to fill, and hotels to book. Yeah, you get the drift. Going on holiday should be simple and fuss-free, which is what the Japanese retail company’s latest product line is all about. MUJI to GO comprises of functional items that are portable, straightforward, and aesthetically pleasing. They’re also meant to make you feel comfortable – a luxury you might not always enjoy on the go.
Packing for a short business trip
One item from MUJI’s new line to boost your comfort levels, especially if you’re heading overseas for a weekend business engagement, is the Water Repellent Stretch Nylon 7 Pocket Jacket ($109). Made out of lightweight, wrinkle-resistant nylon, the jacket is what you would call useful, with a total of four functions and seven pockets.
For instance, all interior pockets have zips to prevent stuff from falling out, while the right-hand pocket is perfectly sized to fit a passport. Of course, you can button up the lapel to keep the cold out. What’s convenient though is a shallow pocket with a hidden sleeve to hold a mobile phone or business card securely.
Other highlights from MUJI to GO include the Paraglider Foldable Bag; a thin, lightweight, foldable bag that’s useful as an add-on for your main luggage, as well as the Passport Case; which as its name suggests, is a case for your passport, as well as travel documents. MUJI’s version comes in three types: compact, slim, and functional, with colours ranging from navy to black.
Packing for a week’s vacation
When packing for a week’s vacation, you’re going to need clothes that are a little more durable. Enter MUJI’s Men’s & Ladies’ Flannel Series. Warm, soft, and woven from thick cotton thread, each piece in this collection is ideal for bringing to cold countries, and is fuss-free when it comes to packing, as the material does not crease easily.
Gear-wise, you should really check out MUJI’s Hard Carry Case. A stylish hard shell suitcase, these carriers have ditched single wheels for double wheels, meaning that they roll more smoothly on uneven surfaces, and more importantly, they’re more stable too – wouldn’t want anything fragile breaking if your suitcase tips over, would you?
