RIMOWA Unveils New Tropical-Inspired Seasonal Colours — Mint And Papaya

Imagine being whisked away to a beach holiday, with the promise of sun, sand, and sea, or the carefree feeling of being on the open road in Summer — these feel-good vibes are perfectly captured by RIMOWA‘s latest seasonal Essential collection, which introduces two complementary pastel shades, Mint and Papaya, across their premium suitcases and accessories.

Inspired by tropical destinations, we’re led to embrace colours beyond the brand’s signature aluminium and black models, with these two new pops of colours. Mint is a soft yet fresh shade of green that “draws inspiration from the pastel-hued buildings characteristic of tropical cities”, while Papaya is a vibrant orange that reminds us of a beachside sunset.

These are available in the Essential range, in suitcase styles that see the premium polycarbonate shell to the handle, zipper, and wheel housing crafted in a tone-on-tone monochromatic appearance. Tiffany Titan By Pharrell Williams Brings A Punk-Rock Edge To The Luxury Jewellery Brand

We haven’t been this excited since Tiffany HardWear. Luxury jewellery brand Tiffany & Co. has recently brought in the always-stylish Pharrell Williams, also currently  Louis Vuitton Men’s creative director, on board for a new collection that’s edgy, cool, and wonderfully unexpected for the brand.

The Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams collection takes on the mythological Poseidon’s trident, with those sharp, spear-like spikes taking over necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings, thus bringing a defiant punk-rock aesthetic to traditionally dainty fine jewellery.

That said, we do see an element of elegance within these inventive designs; in 18k yellow gold and titanium, the spikes are juxtaposed by curved links that bring a balanced softness to the spunk and spikes, while there are also diamond iterations among the metal styles. Interestingly, these pavé pieces feature reverse-set diamonds, which emphasises their brilliance since the particular setting exposes the diamond’s pavilion.

The collection also features the use of titanium, as a dark and muted contrast to gleaming gold and the diamonds’ brilliance; here, Tiffany shows off their technical precision via a process that’s able to give us a deep black hue. Particular care is made to ensure each earring or necklace moves with the wearer as well, for designs that are dynamic and intuitive.

“I’m very inspired by the water, and the name of this collection “Titan” draws inspiration from Poseidon, ruler of the sea, King of Atlantis – “Atlantis” which is also the name of the community I grew up in Virginia Beach,” says Williams. “The detail in all of the jewelry pieces is very intentional, the use of black titanium…it’s a physical manifestation of beauty in blackness.”

Swatch x VERDY Sees The Celebrated Japanese Graphic Artist’s Works On Watches And A Wall Clock

Cute, colourful, and with a healthy dose of positive energy, Japanese graphic artist VERDY and his mood-lifting characters and art make their way to a unique Swatch collection, where we see some of his most iconic illustrations interpreted into a series of four watches, and even a watch-shaped wall clock.

The Swatch x VERDY collection is essentially a celebration of the artist, currently based in Tokyo, with his lighthearted message of the joy of life, and connection with our inner child, coming through across the designs. ‘VICK BY VERDY’, for instance, sees his signature panda-rabbit character, Vick, alongside an ‘A’ across the NEW GENT BIOSOURCED watch face as a nod to punk rock rebellion; the timepiece then sports a black-and-white colour that’s sleek and versatile.

For those into colour, ‘VISTY BY VERDY’ features the character Visty, meant to cheer one up during tough times, across a multi-coloured watch design in yellow, green, pink, and blue. Created to represent the artist’s love for punk and skate culture, ‘WASTED YOUTH BY VERDY’ is a bold blue-and-white watch that reinterprets the Wasted Youth logo in a graphic style, reinforced with the words ‘I can’t waste my time anymore’ written on the case below the dial.

Then there’s the unique transparent design of ‘GIRLS DON’T CRY BY VERDY’,  which pays homage to a project VERDY created as a gift for his wife. A red heart, understandably, lies in the centre of the dial, one that also shows off the skeletal internals of the GENT watch, while there’s also white logo lettering across the matching transparent strap.

To up the fun factor, the collection introduces the most playful ‘MAXI VISTY BY VERDY’ supersized 2.1m wall watch, for Swatch collectors who’d love to deck their homes with the mischievous spirit of the collection.

Guerlain reinvents their iconic Météorites Pearls of Powder

In 1987, Guerlain launched a revolutionary makeup product — little balls of iridescent powder in various complementing shades. It’s used just like regular loose powder; just swirl a brush over the pearls and sweep it over the face, or take a powder puff and then pat the product directly onto skin. For makeup lovers, it’s a sensorial experience that sets your makeup and gives the complexion a beautiful radiance.

What’s updated is a formula that is now composed of 95% naturally-derived ingredients. In each jar, there are two types of complementary mother-of-pearls: sparkling coloured mother-of-pearls that provide radiance to the skin, and silver light mother-of-pearls that radiate light naturally over time. The result is a longer-lasting radiant complexion that looks fresh and naturally glowy for up to 12 hours.

All About The Gentle Monster x JENNIE “Jentle Salon” Collection — Including A Special Pop-Up In Singapore

Imagine our elation when we opened up Instagram to a video of none other than Miss It-Girl Jennie Kim, unboxing a giant pink-and-white box that unveiled the fluffiest of unicorns — and her latest Gentle Monster collaboration.

That’s right, the world collectively sighed in envy as we watched more and more teasers about the BLACKPINK member’s latest tie-up with the South Korean eyewear brand, so it’s about time we got a proper low-down on the Gentle Monster and JENNIE collection.

Launching 1 May, this is definitely a highly-anticipated collaboration and the third project between them, where we’ve been, no doubt, charmed by Jennie’s superstar status. The ‘JENTLE SALON’ collection stands out for its sleek and chic eyewear, that can now be embellished with a series of eye-catching charms such as bows, crystal hearts, dangling pearls, and a cute capybara called ‘Cooing’.

The series comprises of eight frame silhouettes in total, where you’ll find trendy wraparound styles, as well as more classic acetate frames, including the angular cateye Baby Pony, soft oval Hush, and butterfly-style Fish Tail.

Silver metal frames such as the Barrette, a unique oval pair with a studded temple that resembles a hairpin, and Glitter, a rimless graduated sunglasses style, ups the cool factor of the collection, though we still love the coquette touches in the pastel choices and bows throughout — get a girl who can do both!

As for the charms, you’ll get to choose from a range of 11, though you may only opt for up to two charms per frame. Another cute touch — each pair of frames will arrive in a furry pink eyewear case, topped off with a matching pink bow.

Love your Gucci? Now you can wear its signature interlocking G motif around your neck and on your fingers. Gucci introduces a new range of fine jewellery that features their iconic motif, prominently placed on circular charms adorned with beautiful and exquisite gemstones.

 

There are three sets of jewellery — onyx, green agate and mother-of-pearl, each featuring two rings (available as a 12mm or 17mm disc charm), a bracelet, paired studs, hooped earrings with a pendant, and a necklace with a 12mm ornament. The Dior Jolie Bag Is The House’s It-Bag For Spring-Summer 2024

The striking cannage on the Lady Dior and some of Dior’s most iconic bags is an enduring symbol of the house, so it makes sense that creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri will be inspired by it for their it-bag of Spring/Summer 2024. Enter: the Dior Jolie.

Debuting alongside the ready-to-wear pieces on the runway, you can see it as an on-the-go version of the more elegant and precious, Lady Dior, or a practical top handle design that takes after the Caro — either way the bag very much retains what we love about these two inspirations, from its timeless structured design to the quilted cannage pattern.

In neutral tones of Black, Latte White and Powder Beige, there are several keen details that make the calfskin leather bag an instant classic. It starts with a gilded clasp right at the double flap design, bearing the letters “CD”, then further enriched by a freshwater pearl in the centre for a touch of femininity.

Classic rectangular shape aside, there’s also versatility in its detachable chain strap, which comprises of delicately entwined links that also recall Christian Dior’s initials, accented by white resin pearls. The Dior Jolie bag is available in either a mini or small format.

Sunscreen should be your new best friend even when it’s cloudy

Sunscreen is one of the most important skincare you can invest in; and if you’re too lazy to use anything else, at least use sunscreen. The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends one with an SPF of at least 30, which filters out about 97% of UVB rays. If you get an SPF of 50, it’ll block out 98% of these rays. You’ll also need to look for a sunscreen that has a broad-spectrum formula (look for the PA sign on the packaging), as this also protects the skin against UVA rays. The more + signs you see behind the PA, the higher the protection against UVA rays.

These are some of the best broad-spectrum sunscreens with SPF 50 that you can wear under (or even over) makeup.

Dior’s UV Shield is delightful; it feels beautifully light and fresh on the skin, and this tinted version envelops it in a rosy veil that makes the complexion more even and radiant. The key ingredient in the formula is Edelweiss, which Dior science has discovered could help diminish, correct and prevent the appearance of dark spots. There’s also Vitamin C, known for its brightening and antioxidant properties.

Sulwhasoo Debuts Two New Hydrating Lip Products In Stunning Glazed Ceramic And Chrome Cases

You’d think that after years of writing about and reviewing lipsticks, all lipsticks ought to look quite the same — not Sulwhasoo‘s. No doubt, it was the sleek chrome packaging of the Perfecting Lip Color that first caught our eye, a futuristic design that’s also reminiscent of sunlight shimmering on waves, we’re told, and an instant addition to our wishlists. Of course, having brand ambassador Rosé, of BLACKPINK fame, elegant flaunting the product certainly helped too. 

What’s less obvious about Sulwhasoo’s duo of launches though — namely, the Sulwhasoo Glowing Lip Balm, and the Perfecting Lip Color — is its skincare-makeup innovation. The concept isn’t entirely new by now, but the k-beauty brand ups the ante with a whole lot of skincare ingredients, including nourishing ginseng seed oil to keep dry lips at bay, and their potent Sulwhasoo Master Complex™, which can also be found in the 6th Generation of the Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum. No ordinary lip products then.

Glowing Lip Balm

The first item on the list is Sulwhasoo’s new Glowing Lip Balm, touted as Korea’s first stick-type wrinkle functional cosmetic lip balm. Long accolade aside, what you need to know is that this is designed to target lip wrinkles, which develop as we get older, as a blend of collagen and red ginseng saponin help reduce the appearance of fine lines; we’re promised round-the-clock hydration for plump lips too.

If you’re wondering about the texture, it’s said to be velvety-soft and intensive without being tacky or sticky, available in two shades — 000 Clear and 030 Petal. What we absolutely love as well is the lip balm’s rounded contours and glazed porcelain texture, which thoughtfully reference the Moon Jar, a key symbol of Sulwhasoo and Korean culture, as well as a motif that’s also been referenced in their bestselling serum.

Perfecting Lip Color

Then there’s this unexpectedly edgy chrome design, belonging to the Sulwhasoo Perfecting Lip Color. Despite its outer appearance, the formula of the lipstick is one that gives off a luminous glow, more of a subtle watercolour hue that enhances one’s natural lip colour. It’s also formulated with an impressive 92% skincare ingredients, which account for its moisture-attracting properties and extended lip hydration for the appearance of soft, smooth lips.

The lipstick is meant to be paired with the brand’s latest Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion too, hence the similar packaging style, and arrives in five shades — 310 Terra, 999 Rose, 520 Amber, 460 Berry, and 370 Peony.

Swarovski x MARVEL Team Up For Superhero Crystal Figurines, Including Captain America And Loki

Forget infinity stones. MARVEL fans and avid Swarovski crystal collectors ought to be collecting these instead — an assembly of five beloved comic book heroes in bold hues and full-cut crystal facets that highlight the savoir-faire of the house.

This time, we’re getting some of earth’s mightiest heroes in the Swarovski x MARVEL home collection, alongside an iconic big bad that ought to be familiar to those who’ve watched the Infinity War saga. Stepping up to the crystal plate are Captain America, Thor, Loki, Captain Marvel, and Thanos, each solo figurines cut in brilliantly vivid crystal. This team-up is also a continuation of an earlier series that had seen Spider-Man, Hulk and Iron Man, among others.

As always, the attention to detail goes from capturing the vibrant green of Loki’s cape, and the contrasting red and blue hues on the each Captain’s suit, to polished metal details and faithful recreations of familiar MARVEL artefacts, whether we’re talking about Captain America’s indestructible shield or Thor’s mighty hammer. The powerful titan Thanos is even crafted with 607 crystallised facets, which represent his suit of armour as well as those precious infinity stones.

Dior’s Summer 2024 makeup collection is a tribute to Christian Dior and the joy he found in the charming natural setting and colours of the Mediterranean. At the heart of the collection are sunny shades that are an invitation for the user to escape and play.

A Visual Journey Of Seoul during Winter, captured with Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

If you own a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, you’ve likely been playing with its camera. The model has one of the best camera systems in a smartphone, and now coupled with AI features, it’s like a whole photography studio in your pocket. I recently took the phone with me to Seoul, and documented my time there in Winter.

Since most of the photos I’m taking on the Galaxy S24 Ultra are for sharing on social media, I tend to select the 9:16 ratio, which fills up a mobile phone screen when posting on Instagram Stories, Reels and TikTok. I then further crop these pictures to 4:5 if they are posted on NYLON’s Instagram feed.

The key feature used for many of the following pictures is Photo Assist. I left it to Galaxy AI to make smart edits to my photos. You can find out more about Photo Assist in this video:

Tips on camera settings to use when capturing pictures with the Galaxy S24 Ultra:
— Double press the power button to instantly bring up the camera.
— Shoot in 9:16 ratio for a full screen picture.
— To shoot a photo in 200MP resolution, you have to be in Photo mode.
— Try Expert Raw mode for total control over your camera settings. If you can’t find it in the Camera app, it can be downloaded from the Galaxy Store.

Louis Vuitton explores the art of travel with its Flight Mode collection for Summer 2024. This range of ready-to-wear, travel leather goods, shoes and accessories are made for the journey as well as the destination, with many of the pieces revolving around a vibrant motif, Élysée Palace, defined by overlaid vintage-style travel patches emblematic of the Maison’s heritage. This motif is a beautiful tribute to the first Parisian luxury hotel at 103 avenue Champs-Élysées, a landmark location where Louis Vuitton will establish a new project.

Our favourites from the collection include the accessories  that adorn the Élysée Palace motif, including the Side Trunk, Passport Cover, Pouch and of course the Horizon 65 luggage.

Balenciaga brings back the iconic “Motorcycle” City Bag, and this time with sustainable production

Balenciaga first launched their popular Le City bag in 2001, and this month it makes a comeback with the same style, and crafted with Arena lamb leather fitted with Palladium Vibrato hardware.

The bags are hand-assembled, and feature a construction of 25 panels that replicate the vintage versions. There’s the familiar braided leather handles, removable strap, reinforced corners, studs, zipper pulls and metal buckles; and with use over time, the leather gets softer and more distressed, creating a unique patina that doesn’t grow old.

The campaign features British fashion icon Kate Moss, Danish model Mona Tougaard, Chinese actress and singer Yang Chaoyue, and Korean singer Juyeon. See the images below.
