IKEA Is Providing Pregnancy Tests In Their Latest Ad

We have a love-hate relationship with IKEA. We love that they have everything to dress the perfect home at low prices but it pains us to have to build the furniture ourselves, because, let’s face it, some of us are just too lazy. But one thing’s for sure, IKEA has wow-ed us with extremely innovative ads – from cooking up a mini-kitchen to having to use your phone to heat up the hotpot for CNY reunion dinner – they surely know the best way to get people talking about the brand.
Well, the Swedish furniture shop has done it again! Together with Swedish design agency Åkestam Holst, IKEA’s latest ad encourages pregnant women to pee on it for a discount on a baby crib. Yes, you read it correctly. The ad, created by Mercene Labs, doubles up as a pregnancy test. Just watch:

We don’t really know how to feel about this. It’s an out-of-this-world idea, so kudos to the person who brought this interactive concept to the table. The ad interacts with the customer and, frankly, it really is quite cool. Furthermore, it definitely raises awareness for IKEA’s family membership and its discounts (which was their objective), so who’s to say that it is a bad ad?
However, we don’t think people would pipette their urine onto the ad, like the scientists did. Also, you probably have to bring the used ad to IKEA and show the positive results to staff to enjoy the discounted price. That doesn’t sound very hygienic. If we were staff, we wouldn’t want to be handling pee-stained paper, either.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time a pee-based advertisement has been employed. In 2001, Animal Planet placed urine-scented ads below lampposts to attract dogs to pee there. Owners would then see a larger ad promoting Animal Planet’s dog awards show, placed at their eye level.
So far, there hasn’t been any news on whether this ad would be included in the local IKEA catalogues and let’s hope it stays that way.

Cast Your Vote For The Next Presidential Elections With These "Oprah For 2020" T-Shirts

Oprah’s done it all — she’s dominated daytime TV with her some-30-year legendary eponymous talkshow bridging communities and discussing taboos revolutionary of its time, created her own network catchily titled OWN with programmes tracking celebrities’ personal challenges and changing everyday people’s lives, starred and been nominated for various culture-shifting films like The Colour Purple and Selma, and have given all of us Pontiac G6’s (some of us) — with every major milestone carved herself.
Many have looked to her as a beacon of inspiration in the past, but after she delivered her empowering Cecil B. de Mille award acceptance speech on Sunday at the Golden Globes, some have even considered her potentially presidential. While Oprah’s bestie Gayle King’s denied the possibility of her running for office in 2020, meme experts Pizza Slime and Fuck Jerry seem to think otherwise. In fact, such is the political landscape that putting slogans on a T-shirt is as vocal as you can get that they’ve come up with some Diet-Prada worthy merch in support of Oprah’s to-be 2020 campaign.

Aesthetically, these Pizza Slime x Fuck Jerry merch model after the Balenciaga slogan tees that trended everywhere in 2017 which incidentally ripped off the campaign posters of Bernie Sanders the year before that. If Seth Meyers did in fact convince Trump to run the campaign he won during his White House Correspondent’s speech, it doesn’t seem too far-fetched in the current climate to see a more popular and undoubtedly more well-liked celebrity run for office in the future… we’re waiting for our “Tom Hanks for VP” tees next!

Take a First Look at adidas’ Upcoming Dragon Ball Z Collection

Dragon Ball Z fans, it’s time to let out your loudest Goku-style scream of joy, as adidas’ highly anticipated collab with the popular anime series is happening! Earlier this week, leaked images of the upcoming capsule was posted on popular Instagram page What Drops Next, with a further image unveiled this morning by Seraphpy.
And boy, are we excited. The first leak showed off an adidas Yung-1 draped in the villainous purple and white shades of Frieza, with the second image showcasing a Cell-inspired adidas Prophere; a silhouette that’s embellished with an eye-catching green-speckled pattern, and furnished with slick purple accents and detailing.

The third model is an adidas Kamanda and pays tribute to Majin Buu, with the shoe’s suede and rubber exterior decorated by the multi-form character’s trademark pink, purple, and yellow colours.

According to sneaker leakers Yeezy Mafia, the Dragon Ball Z x adidas collection is slated to drop in Fall 2018. This Makeup Collection Was Made For The Low-Key Alcoholic In You

How much do you love your wine? We, for one, avoid red wine at events because that stuff never comes out, but when our hair’s down, we enjoy the odd glass of wine just like everyone else. We know that red wine is good for us due to the antioxidants it contains, but the grape and wine extracts can also be used in beauty and skincare products due to its moisturising properties.
Which is why we were super excited to find out that Korean beauty brand Laboitte launched the Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint that makes you look like your lips have been stained by all that delicious wine you’ve been drinking. But the lip tints aren’t called the Wine Collection just because they come in cute little wine bottles; the lip tints contain wine extracts from premium French wines that keeps your puckers nicely hydrated and moisturised (because some tints can dry out your lips too). Labiotte then took this concept and used the extract in a whole load of other makeup products, and we just loved it. More on that below!

The Chateau Wine Lip Tint also comes in an little mini version, although the colour range is slightly smaller. We are so tempted to get it because it’s way too cute to resist.

Even though the balms might look dark, they go like a stain – but a more natural, balmy stain. The White Wine is your go-to for a natural look as it helps to brighten the lips. Rose Wine will stain your lips coral, while Red Wine will look like you’ve  been sneakily drinking too much red wine.

There are three different shades to choose from, and it comes in stick form for easy application. There’s no such thing as being too drunk to touch up your makeup!

Review: LG’s V30+ is a Slick Phone That’ll Impress Even Non-Android Users

By Joel Conceicao
Smartphone companies are locked in a continuous battle for supremacy. Dual-cameras are in vogue after Apple and Huawei kick-started the trend, and of course, we now see more brands removing headphone jacks from their phones, till it’s reached a point where having one has become a feature in itself (ridiculous, we know).
It seems that individuality and creativity is becoming a unicorn in what has become a copycat industry, although one company has admirably stuck to its guns, despite having a dismal 2017. That company is LG. Uninspiring releases marked the Korean tech giant’s year, with the G6 failing to ignite much fanfare. But that could all change with the company’s latest flagship phone – the V30+.

v30plus_1
With a snazzy 6-inch curved display, and weighing in at 158g (making it the lightest phone in the market, not that you’d be able to tell), the V30+ looks and feels good, and is definitely LG’s best phone in years. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, with 4GB of RAM, and achieving an IP68 waterproof rating, the phone has all the specs you’d expect a top-of-the-line flagship to have.
But here’s exactly why it’s so great:

The Good

Camera
I’ve been told that in the next 10 years, smartphones will completely decimate the camera industry. Don’t get me wrong. DSLRs and mirrorless cams are still very relevant. It’s just that smartphone cameras are improving at a faster rate than anyone expected. I can’t even tell the difference on my Instagram feed at times when pros use their smartphones.

v30plus_2
That said; the V30+ definitely belongs to the category of high-end smartphone shooters. Its rear dual 16-megapixel camera is a joy to shoot with, and I really enjoyed playing with the multiple software-based capture modes, especially the food one. You can check out some unedited sample shots I captured below:
26772433_10155988358749328_883671774_o
The colours really pop on food mode
26772724_10155988361279328_1577618792_o
Each shot has plenty of detail
26735743_10155988362854328_2097063561_o
Colours have punch, even in low-light settings
26781690_10155988362119328_1676738503_o
Clarity is not a problem at night
26829276_10155988363459328_1994249735_o
This is what an F1.6 aperture can do
Another aspect of the camera I liked was the secondary 13-megapixel sensor that allows you to shoot wide-angle shots. And it didn’t hurt that there was a manual mode too. The V30+ is also able to shoot 4K videos, while its new Cine Video mode tints your clips with built-in filters, though it’s not really something I’d use personally (I prefer photos over videos).
Sound
If I had to choose one word to describe the V30+’s audio capabilities, it’d be excellent. Tuned by Bang & Olufsen, a high-end Danish electronics company, the V30+ is the first smartphone in the world to support Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) technology, and that’s a big deal. For instance, music played out loud is incredibly crisp and clear.
v30plus_4
B&O branding on the phone’s back
True blue audiophiles would also geek out over the Hi-Fi Quad DAC settings, which can only be accessed after a pair of headphones has been plugged into the jack (yes, there is one). The DAC settings lets you calibrate your phone’s audio settings to your preferences, while there are different presets for you to try, like “Enhanced”, “Detailed”, “Live”, and “Bass”. You can also adjust the individual decibel balance for each ear.
It just goes to show that no matter how good one’s Bluetooth connection is, a headphone jack can never truly be replaced when it comes to quality sound, and the V30+ is an superb phone for music junkies. Plus, you get a very decent pair of noise-canceling headphones along with the phone. What’s there not to love?
Design
With its neatly curved bezels, and an edge-to-edge infinity display, the V30+ is simply a gorgeous phone. The classy glass front that makes up its display is complemented by a solid metal frame, ensuring that the phone is anything but flimsy, while the fingerprint sensor that’s built-in at the back has a nice tactile feel to it, and is very intuitive.
v30plus_3
A closer look at the V30+’s dual cameras
And even though I’m not really a fan of LG’s user interface, I do like how this phone looks when I hold it in the palm of my hand, especially when it’s on lockscreen mode. It’s definitely one stylish gadget, and personally, I feel that it looks a whole lot better than the iPhone X, which sports an odious bar right top of its screen.
The Bad
Old OS
This is one thing I cannot wrap my head around. Why LG chose to launch the phone without the latest Android 8.1 Oreo version is beyond me. It’s not as if that will dramatically change the experience of the phone. It’s just that if I’m paying top dollar for a flagship, I would expect the latest and greatest, and the V30+ falls short in that department.
Display
Another thing that I’m concerned with is the V30+’s P-OLED display. On high brightness, it looks fantastic. Everything is more or less crystal clear and the colours are great. It’s when it gets to low light where things start to become a little iffy (I like to use my phone at very low-light settings, because I don’t like the jarring effect of artificial light).
That’s when the screen starts to look grainy, with colours veering towards the dull side. I compared one photo on my Samsung S7 Edge to the same one on the V30+ with similar brightness settings, and surprise, surprise; Samsung actually outperformed the V30+ in terms of colour and clarity.
There is also an annoying blue-ish tint when viewing the display off-screen, but other than that, the display looks good, especially when you’re on a Netflix binge. Still, I would feel more comfortable if the V30+ didn’t have these problems in the first place, and it’s something that LG should re-assess for the next iteration of the V series.
Conclusion:
The V30+ may not be the standout phone of the year, but it has more than enough features to please, especially when it comes to the camera and audio quality. The phone impressed even my hardcore Apple-only girlfriend, so that’s saying something.
It’s also a decent investment, especially if you’re not willing to splash the cash on the Google Pixel or iPhone X. Plus, the phone represents LG’s best showing in a long, long time, and could signal a revival for the Korean company.
LG V30+ Range
The full range of the V30+
The LG V30+ is retailing at $965 and is available at M1, Singtel, StarHub, and authorised retailers. The phone is available in aurora black, cloud silver, Moroccan blue, and lavender violet.

Our New Year's Resolution Is To Embrace Our Flaws Like Kendall Jenner Embraces Acne

The Golden Globes is over, but the rippling effects of its feminist message hasn’t. From Oprah to Eva Longoria to the admirable activists who attended, female names have been dominating the socio-political conversation from every angle. The latest to make headlines for her empowering message is a rather unsuspecting candidate, but an important member of pop culture and the current movement nonetheless. Ex-Pepsi spokeswoman Kendall Jenner spoke out on Twitter on Monday in response to a supportive message from a fan praising Kendall for strutting the red carpet with visible acne.

While the Kardashian-Jenner mafia is notorious for their superficial lifestyle and lavish expenses, the women in that family play a significant role in the upbringing of millennial teenagers and beyond. Those who subscribe to Keeping Up With the Kardashians not only buy into whatever fragrances or TV spin-offs they put their stamp on but even their personalities and lifestyle. So for Kendall, the next-Kylie who’s the now-Kim to embrace her natural skin (albeit, under tons of makeup) at an event meant we can only look to that as a super positive and step in the right direction of self-acceptance.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bdvzq-xBdzK/?taken-by=pigss

In fact, Kendall’s not the first person who’s verbally endorsed the “beauty” of acne. Instagram users have blown up because of their admirable spirit coming forward about their experiences with acne — names like Bella Lucia and Hailey Wait immediately spring to mind. And it’s not because we love the visual shock of studying imperfection on social media. The reality of “ugliness” is that is exists in real life, and an attempt at normalising such imagery can only mean teenagers in the future don’t suppress their egos with unattainable goals of beauty.

Getting Green-Eyed Over This Makeup Collection

By Adele Chan

2017 was the year of millennial pink everything. I have to admit, it was a sweet colour, but it got sickening towards the end of the year when everything in the world turned into a version of that shade. So it’s refreshing to see a completely different kind of colour — green, in this case — take centre stage on one of the most prominent runways.

For CHANEL’s Spring/Summer 2018 show, models sported striking green eyes that were intense and smokey, and perfectly matched with brighter lips. We wanted to recreate these looks using CHANEL’s Spring/Summer 2018 makeup collection by Lucia Pica, who took inspiration from her home town of Neapolis (an ancient Greek city) to create products featuring colours representative of the city.

Fun facts about the Spring/Summer 2018 makeup collection:
The eye palette features the most number of shades in an eyeshadow palette ever done by CHANEL.

The mascara shade, Nero Metallo (a dark grey metal), was inspired by this door in Neapolis:

The lip palette is the star product in this collection; it features a balm that is used as a base, and a lip powder colour that adheres to the balm, and results in a stained, just-kissed pout.

RECREATING THE GREEN-EYED LOOKS:

CHANEL’s runway beauty look has washes of blue, green, and grey around the eyes; it’s a look that requires a full spectrum of colours, and some blending skills. We decided to focus on one key shade — green — for a day look that is quicker and simpler to achieve:

eyescheekfinal2
Our model, before and after.

EYES:
1. Start with the black eyeliner (393 Nero Vulcanico) and draw on inner lids (both upper and lower).
2. Use the green eyeliner (938 Mare-Chiaro) to draw a line just above the black line (above the lash line).
3. Sweep the green eyeshadow from the palette over the entire lower part of the eyelid.
As this particular eyeshadow colour is pearlescent, it is buildable and you can can increase the intensity to your desired amount.
4. Use the grey tone from the palette and sweep it in from the outer corners of the eyelids and blend it with the green.
This almost looks like a smokey eye.
CHEEKS:
Use the blush from the Spring/Summer 2018 makeup collection (430 Foschia Rosa), and start at the apple of your cheeks, where the end of the eye and tip of the nose meet. The idea is to pat the powder on lightly, and blend outwards in order to achieve a natural healthy pinkish glow like you’ve spent a day out in the sun.

LIPS:
For this look, we’re using the lightest of the three lip powder shades: 418 Rosa Tempera. Use the brush to apply the clear lip balm over the entire lips. Then pick up some of the lip powder colour with the sponge applicator, and apply it over the lip balm from the outer corners of the lips to the centre of lips. The finish is a soft velvet look that is youthful and playful.

To create the full runway look, we played with more colours from the eyeshadow palette to create smokier, more intense eyes.

  runwaylook1

Our model, before and after.

EYES:
1. Start with the cream eyeshadow (824 Verderame, which is inspired by volcanic ash). Apply it all over the entire eyelid,
layering more towards the lash line. The idea is to create a smokey gradient with more intensity towards the lash line.
2. To create the dramatic runway look, extend the same cream eyeshadow towards the temple.
NOTE: If the lines get too dark or messy, clean up using a concealer. Also, to get a more intense eye colour, use a sponge applicator.
3. Layer on the same cream eyeshadow under the eye.
4. Choose the blue shade from the eyeshadow palette and go over the entire eyelid, on top of the cream eyeshadow.
This adds an intense blue sheen to the eye look.
5. Dust the colour over the eyebrow as well. This won’t turn your brows blue; it will just blend the colour nicely into the brow,
for a neater, more finished eye look.
6. Choose the matte black shade from the eyeshadow palette, and apply it on the lower part of the eyelid.
Blend it into the eyeshadow colours. This creates an even more intense, smokey eye look.
7. Sweep on the mascara in Nero Metallo.

CHEEKS:
Dab on more of the powder blush.

LIPS:
Choose the lip powder palette, 410 Rosso Pompeiano, which has a coral hue, and apply more lip balm with the brush. Then use the sponge applicator to press the lip powder colour onto the entire lips. Really pile it on to create an intense lip colour that will last throughout the night. The inspiration from Lucia for the lip powder, was to create a “just kissed lips” look. Finally, to create the glossy runway lip, use 786 Sibylla and apply it over the entire lips. Layer it on for fuller lips.

Why this January is the Best Month to Party at Zouk

Booze-fuelled, dance-infused nights are a recurrent theme for most party people. There’s no better way to let loose. But what if we told you that at least for this January, there’s only one place worthy of getting your party sessions on. You’d probably flip us the finger, but we’re not kidding. The only place you’ve got to be at is Zouk.
After a solid 2017 opening, Singapore’s OG nightclub is rolling out promotion after promotion to kick-start 2018, and trust us, you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else when the weekend comes calling. Here’s a round up of events that show just why this month is the best month to party at Zouk:
Femme Fatale (13 Jan, Capital)

FEMME FATALE_1301
It’s always great to see female DJ’s working their magic in a male-dominated field, and you’ll get to party alongside two of the industry’s best at Femme Fatale with DJ Lizzy and Che’Molly, both of whom have an impressive track record of spinning alongside heavy hitters like KSHMR, Dannic, and Steve Aoki.
Sin City with Nash D (20 Jan, Zouk)

A post shared by Kendrick Lamar (@kendricklamar) on Jul 17, 2017 at 12:20pm PDT

It’s all about the hip-hop at Sin City, where Zouk resident DJ Nash D will bust out the latest rhymes. But that’s not all. Thanks to Zouk’s collab with Universal Music Singapore, Sin City attendees will also get to stand a chance to catch Kendrick Lamar live in London at The O2 Arena, complete with a pair of return tickets and free accommodation. Of course, updates will arrive via Zouk Singapore’s Facebook page, so stay tuned for competition details.
SUITS, every Thursday (Capital)

SUITS_Every Thursday
You know that feeling when it’s not yet Friday but you just want to party? Yeah, we feel you. The wait for the weekend sucks, although you can cheat a little by hanging out at SUITS – a weekly industry night for working professionals, where you can get 1-for-1 drinks all night long (ladies get complimentary drinks from 9pm to 2am). All you’ve got to do is head in early, drop your name card, and you’re good to go.
Total Recall (20 Jan, Capital)

Total Recall_2001
Call us old-fashioned, but we’re not going to stop streaming our S Club 7, Britney Spears, and Backstreet Boys songs anytime soon. And we’re not going to stop groovin’ along to them too, which you can now totally do at Total Recall – Capital’s special retro night.

Ask any seasoned partygoer, and they’ll all say the same thing: there’s nothing more important than pre-gaming before a night out. Think of it as the foreplay before the climax, the calm before the storm – yeah, you get the drift.

Rick Owens x Birkenstocks Are A Fuzzy Mix Of Comfort And Futurist Nostalgia

The Rick Owens show is always a fascinating one to chase during Paris fashion week. It’s an independent label that’s not only managed to stay afloat amidst a growingly saturated fashion market, but cultivated such a loyal fanbase that those who love Rick Owens only wear Rick Owens. His specific vision of the future often distorts all concepts of wearability — geometric jersey drapes that especially in recent history appear like shields resembling the insides of gym-stretched muscles or haemorrhaging vessels.
It always looks comfortable to slide into a Rick Owens piece of clothing in the same way it’s oddly fetishistic to watch Ripley 8 hugging her “newborn” clone in Alien Resurrection. So in fact it’s come to little surprise that Rick Owens’ latest partnership is with Birkenstocks, which we reckon will sell like as fast as any other recent Hypebeast sneaker drop.

Birkenstocks, which’ve remained adamant in providing a staple of comfort to everyday wearers are proving more and more that it’s cool to be comfortable. Tweaking their archetypical model to suit trends have resulted in the waterproof Evas, clog Bostons, as well as Arizona Fur and Shearlings. This would safely be its first dip into the luxury fashion sphere, which if by sheer numbers are proof such is a trend to stay in 2018.
Rick Owens x Birkenstocks sandals collection will come in pony hair, felt and full-grain leather, launching 17 April 2018 on Rick Owens and http://www.birkenstock.com/’s respective boutiques and online stores.

Daniel Caesar's Freudian Tour Is Coming To Singapore

R&B fans are in for a treat in March! Daniel Caesar released his world tour dates on his website yesterday and Singapore is on the list!
Concerning details of the concert, we can only confirm that the Get You singer would be performing on 13 March. The venue, stated as The Esplanade’s Annexe Theatre on Caesar’s website, is incorrect, so we would just have to wait a little longer for more details.

World’s First Ever Zero Gravity Rave Will Take Flight With Armin, Steve Aoki and W&W

Music festivals are a dime a dozen, and there’s a music festival for everyone no matter what your music tastes leans towards. Just in Singapore, there is St Jerome’s Laneway Festival for the hipsters, Neon Lights Festival for the Glastonbury wannabes, Baybeats for the local alternative crowd and ZoukOut for the EDM punters.

If you think you’ve been to every single kind of festival you can even think off, be prepared to be mindblown. This one takes the cake, and not just because Steve Aoki is part of the lineup. World Club Dome will be hosting the world’s first ever zero gravity music festival – the Zero Gravity Club – which takes place onboard an A310 aircraft.

frankfurt

It’s not only the world’s smallest and most exclusive club, it’s also the highest. You can literally get so high that you feel like your head is in the clouds. That’s right, you’ll be floating in space with three of EDM’s biggest artists. There is no better chance to get up close with trance god Armin Van Buuren, cake-throwing electro DJ Steve Aoki and house legends W&W all within the same plane. We definitely want to know if Steve Aoki will be up to his cake-throwing antics again because we all want to know how it’s gonna end in zero gravity.

Bits of floating cake and random people in the air – sounds pretty unpredictable!

This music festival is so exclusive that you can’t even buy the tickets; you have to participate in their contest by uploading a 20-second video showing how you would represent your continent. You’ll have to think of somethin more than just waving a flag around, because you’ll be fighting against hundreds of people for this chance. Only two winners (one guy and one girl) will be chosen from each continent to party it up in the skies. Entries close on 12 January, so you have about a week more to apply if you want to be an EDM pioneer.

Our only gripe is that Hardwell is left out of this entire shebang because he has the PERFECT song for a music festival in space? Call me a spaceman, why won’t you.

Head to wcdzerogravity.com to find out how to enter the contest and for the full list of terms and conditions.

Put Your CNY Face on With M.A.C’s Peachy Makeup Collection

Now that our Christmas and New Year celebrations are done and dusted, we’ve started prepping for the next festivity on the calendar: Chinese New Year. It isn’t just our homes and wardrobes we’re refurbishing, though. Yup, we’re giving our makeup collections a little spring clean too, which means we’ve got more room for new beauty drops (fret not, your incoming ang baos will soon cover your expenses).
If there’s a set of makeup products we’ll be grabbing soon, it’s definitely the one that’s coming down M.A.C’s pipeline. Meet the makeup brand’s limited edition Lunar New Year collection.

Screen Shot 2018-01-10 at 10.01.45 AM

Comprised of 5 lipsticks, a blush duo compact, and an eyeshadow palette, the collection is packed with peachy tones and everyday neutrals. This time, M.A.C seems to have given a gorgeous touch of ombré pink to the tubes and compacts in the lineup too, taking on the colours of a peach as it ditches its signature sleek black packaging. The lipstick bullets have a gorgeous gradient, with a deeper pink shade on the cap that fades into a beige bottom, separated by a stripe of gold at the centre.

(L-R): Good Health, Peachy New Year, Prosperity, Pure Happiness, To Luck!

We’re pretty much in love with all the lip colours, in particular. There’s “Good Health”, a muted peachy-nude shade with a satin finish; “Peachy New Year”, a soft satin-finish peach shade with gold pearl; “Prosperity”, a vibrant pink-coral that goes on matte; “Pure Happiness”, a sheer pink in a cremesheen finish; and “To Luck!”, a dark dusty rose that has a matte finish. These wearable lippies sure make great gifts for yourself.

As mentioned, there’s also an eyeshadow palette with 9 shades of lustres, satins, and matte shadows to play with. And you guessed it – they’re a mix of warm sands, pink pearls, and peachy neutrals, so you’ll be using these long after CNY is over. Go ahead and top off your look with the Powder Blush Duo too. The soft matte pink and pale peach shades will add some warmth to your complexion – just what we need to look alive on dreary mornings.

GoPro Is Out Of The Drone Game

All adventure lovers, vloggers and videographers are very familiar with the brand, GoPro. Even with non-techy people, the brand’s action camera needs little introduction.

However, GoPro announced that it would not be extending its drone line and cut nearly 20% of its global workforce (close to 300 jobs), due to the difficulty of making a substantial profit in the “extremely competitive aerial market” and restructuring of the organisation.
In 2017, the company suffered huge losses. Despite the hype around the launch of the Karma drone in mid 2016, 2,500 drones were recalled after many were falling mid-flight due to an engineering fault. When GoPro fixed the Karma and relaunched them in 2017, people were already over it and turned to other brands like DJI. The launch of the latest GoPro Hero6 Black and GoPro Fusion was not enough for the company to make up for their losses. The company said that they will completely exit the market once it has sold the remaining of its Karma inventory.

GoPro CEO Nick Woodman is willing to take drastic measures to turn his company around in 2018. In his statement to CNBC, Woodman hinted at the consideration of an acquisition or merger if it significantly contributed to the growth and scale of GoPro.
So what does this mean for current owners of the GoPro Karma? Not to worry. In a statement by GoPro, they pledged to “continue to provide service and support to Karma customers” despite the cessation of the production of drones.

Don't Wet Yourselves, But Mr Grey Sings In The Latest "Fifty Shades Freed" Soundtrack!

It’s a new dawn for women, and from what we’ve just seen Hollywood is on board with our sentiment too. But we’re multifaceted — one day we might be reclaiming our time a la Senator Maxine Waters, and that same night we could want to be a senpai in the sheets. That’s why we’re super proud to profress our love for Fifty Shades Freed, the latest in the EL James trilogy of novels-turned-movies.
But even better than the films that illustrate our cheesiest teenage fantasies are the killer soundtracks that remix iconic sex pop songs and invent originals that gel so well with the movies’ aphrodisiacal atmosphere. From the sultry mix-up of Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love” to Skylar Grey’s romantic “I Know You,” we were undoubtedly armed with an impressive portfolio of tracks to gear us up for the upcoming instalment surveilling the tumultuous escapades of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
Now that we’ve had a listen to many of the songs from the latest Fifty Shades Freed Soundtrack that’s been released on YouTube, we can honestly say we’ve finally met a man who’s (a) got wonderful abs (b) is rich and even more charming than his money (c) has weird ticks which is kind of a turn on? (d) sings!!! Jamie Dornan’s single on the record’s reportedly a special feature, but we sure hope he sings it a cappella at some point.

From what we’ve seen of the latest trailers, however, there’re guns and shotgun pregnancies, which can only signal more action and salaciousness. In the meantime, we have these teasers from their latest soundtrack to keep our adrenaline till it releases. Others who’re confirmed to be on it include Rita Ora, Liam Payne, SIA, Dua Lipa, Jessie J, Hailey Steinfeld and Bloodpop, among others.

If you haven’t heard of Disney TSUM TSUM before, it was a limited original series of collectible toys created specifically for Japan in 2013. TSUM TSUM translates directly from Japanese to “a bunch” or “a pile”. The series included the first Disney characters to appear in a unified design, breaking the traditional Disney mould.
Whatever the case may be; we’re just over the moon to see that these incredibly adorable designs have made their way to street clothing, and we can’t wait to see what other goodies :CHOCOOLATE has in store for us!
The :CHOCOOLATE l TSUM TSUM collection will launch on Jan 18 at i.t. stores in Bugis Junction and orchard gateway. For more information, visit itlabels.com.sg.
