adidas Originals Debuts the Prophere – New Sneakers That Come Bold in Black

If shoe making were a talent competition, adidas would come out on top each time. The German sportswear brand been on fire in 2017, churning out hit after hit, from the new UltraBOOST ATR kicks that’ll keep your feet warm and toasty in any weather, to the exclusive collab between Chanel and Pharrell’s iconic Hu NMDs.
This time, however, sneaker-heads can look forward to a completely new silhouette that promises to take the footwear world by storm. Everyone, feast your eyes on the brand new adidas Originals Prophere.

Described by the company as having a “style designed to challenge the norm”, the Prophere has a distinct look that is quite unlike adidas’ previous product releases. It has a bold sculpted midsole, as well as a fat 3-stripe mark branding that forms the lacing system, and a raw-edge leather heel cage.
All this is complemented with a one-piece black, soft knit upper construction, so you can expect your feet to feel as snug as a chubby cat cuddling on a couch.

NikeLab's Latest ACG Drops Epitomise Technology Meets Cool

Hands down, Nike has dominated sportswear for 2017. From their recent collaboration with Virgil Abloh for Off-White and the re-releases of their Air Max 95s and re-introduction of the Cortez, the brand’s been consistently making the headlines of fashion sites, endorsed by social media influencers across platforms and seen on style icons on the streets all over. While Nike’s more ubiquitous for their sneakers than apparel, their more exclusive label NikeLab’s been experimenting with various technology, and in its latest endeavour has launched more pieces from its ACG (or “All Conditions Clothing”), a selection of activewear suited for transitioning between different temperatures already knocking our socks off (and still able to keep us toasty!).

Women’s 3-in-1 System Coat, $965

The key piece for the latest drop is this 3-in-1 System Coat, highlighting the ethos and distinctive quality of the ACG collection. The multi-layered outerwear piece comes in mens and womens, featuring a sturdy shell able to insulate blistering climates but transformable into a more casual lined mint windbreaker vibrant and personality-indicative.

Men’s Fleece Hoodie, $339

This is another prime example of functional design. On the outlook this mint hoodie resembles another cool fit we’d rep sometime around now when it’s futile second-guessing the weather. But on closer inspection, it’s apparent the hood doubles up as a barrier between our faces and the biting cold, not without a see-through mesh visor for us to still properly navigate our route to and from Points A and B.

Tech Woven Women’s Trousers, $275

We love getting updates of our favourite celebrities’ personal lives through paparazzi shots of them getting Starbucks or leaving the gym, and the PR-savvy ones always seem to be dressed in some effortlessly chic pant that both shape the lower body yet seem incredibly comfortable sliding into. IKEA Launches Ridiculously Cute Pet Furniture Range for Animal Lovers

Most shoppers enter an IKEA store at their own peril, because they know their bank balance is at serious risk. There. Are. Just. So. Many. Things. To. Buy. And that seemingly never-ending list of awesome products has now expanded even further, coming in the form of a new pet furniture range for animal lovers to splurge on.
Take a look at some of the collection’s highlights:

Called the LURVIG pet collection, the animal-friendly range was launched in five countries – Japan, France, Canada, United States, and Portugal (only IKEA Algarve), and has just about the cutest assembly of furniture ever made for cats and dogs, including pet beds, scratching mats, cushions, waste bags, and sofas.
Sadly, there’s no word yet as to whether the collection will be introduced in Singapore, although a spokesperson told Business Insider that “IKEA is definitely working towards in having the collection available in more stores in the future.”

That’s an incredibly vague statement (annoyingly so too), but we’re not giving up our hopes just yet. At the very least, you can get similar items with expensive price tags at your friendly neighbourhood pet store (not much of a consolation, we know; but beggars can’t be choosers). The annual dance affair, back for its 11^th edition, will once again feature a line-up of tantalising talent. Everyone knows the Netherlands is pure EDM heaven, and Dutch DJ’s are the Gods manning the decks. Well, this year’s Siloso Beach Party will have two of them on stage at the same time, with DJ duo Bassjackers as headliners.

You Can Create Your Own Terrariums While Feasting On Brunch

Epiphyte’s in the enclave of Chinatown, but set far away enough from People’s Park Centre so that you’ve ended up in the hipster/ shophouse zone. It’s along Neil Road (which has a ton of food choices for you to choose from) – so what makes Epiphyte any different? OK first things first: the word “epiphyte” refers to a plant that grows on another plant – think ferns and orchids. They’re not parasitic so don’t immediately visualise a power-hungry plant. Instead, we assume it’s meant to symbolise peace and tranquility.

The space is cosy, designed to be a hidden garden sanctuary.
It’s a cosy space that has an air well near the back – it’s decorated with plants, with shelves that are lined with terrariums. The space is designed as a hidden garden sanctuary, for busy people in the CBD to find some peace and greenery. When we asked the owners about their inspiration behind Epiphyte, they said they wanted it to be “an infusion of food, art, and nature”.
Their top three food recommendations include: Pink Risotto ($22), Seafood Cartoccio ($28), and Terrarium Dessert ($10).

The Seafood Cartoccio is an oven baked seafood stew of coconut prawn broth livened with a secret rempah sauce.

No artificial food colouring in this Pink Risotto, which is topped with fresh pan-seared scallops.
We’ve tried the Pink Risotto ourselves, and it came plated beautifully in a vibrant pink colour – no artificial food colouring added to this, it’s au naturale with roasted beetroot risotto that simmered in seafood broth and parmigiana. Texture-wise, it was creamy but still al dente – not too mushy at all. The scallops were also cooked well and came with a slight golden sear. Gordon Ramsay would’ve approved of these scallops.
Terrarium Dessert

You can add a shot of rum for $3 with this Terrarium Dessert.
This is another dish that brings in the customers – the Terrarium Dessert ($15) – which if you didn’t know any better, you would’ve thought is a real terrarium! But nope, no matter how plant-like all the ingredients look, everything is 100% edible. It comes with a chocolate soil, green sponge cake, mint custard, and apple compote.
Brunch

Epiphyte’s dishes are beautifully plated.
Everything at Epiphyte’s certainly very Instagrammable, but that shouldn’t be the only reason why you head down there – the owners claim that they tend to be experimental in their dishes, so that we can all share different experiences with each visit. Plus the food’s pretty darn good.
Comtesse de Fleur Martini

The Comtesse de Fleur is a refreshing floral martini.
If you’re not there for the food, there’s also an upstairs area – Epiphyte Canopies, their cocktail and wine bar. Three cocktails you must try: Comtesse de Fleur ($16), a floral martini with a light summery taste; Dark Romance ($17), a martini with Dark Chocolate and rose; and Espresso-tini ($16), a martini that’s crafted from premium roasted coffee beans.

The tech giant today announced via a press release a record year of donations, with over $30 million raised for the Global Fund. To put that into perspective for you, Apple has provided the equivalent of about 144 million days of ARV medication – a vital medicine that prevents the transmission of HIV from mothers to unborn babies.
Of course, you can contribute to the cause too. The App Store will execute its first-ever Today tab takeover, while partnering with developers like King. The King partnership is especially intriguing, as fans can download games like Candy Crush Saga, Candy Crush Jelly Saga, and Candy Crush Soda Saga, with all proceeds going to the global fund.

And starting on World AIDS Day, every Apple Pay transaction made at a retail location, online or in-app, a $1 donation will go through to (RED), with 20 (PRODUCT) RED items for customers to choose from.
