Don't Just Wear Normal Boots — Walk On Air With Moncler

When we think of Moncler, we think cool travel gear that helps us withstand biting winters and high trekking mileage. They’re always at the top of their game when it comes to solving real problems in style. From Poldo Dog Couture to StyleBOP.com, they’ve never shied away from enlisting the expertise of other brands to bolster the technology in their collections.
In a new effort to transform necessity into desirability, Moncler has teamed up with Moon Boot, the iconic Maison of aprés ski shoes, to release a capsule collection of footwear marrying luxury fashion with impressive winter boots.

moncler

Moon Boots, which were all the rage back in the early 1970’s, were directly inspired by the aesthetic appeal of an actual astronaut boot. While they’re intended for walking on ground, they certainly have a certain gravitas about them.

Venus £2,365, Uranus $773

In their collaboration with Moncler, silky nylons and cozy furs are juxtaposed with structural rubber and chunky shoelaces, imbuing the final product with a blend of masculine finesse. Sticking true to both brands’ values and aesthetic, the bulk of the collection is set in an all-black colourway, which is stylistically classical to the boot. The rest of the ensemble comes in highly complementary nude and neutral tones, with an extensive variety of materials and cuts to suit the needs of every wearer.
Moon Boot’s iconic use of monochromatic tones to give their boots depth and intrigue plays into the Moncler identity well. We can already imagine ourselves wearing our covetable boots on vacation looking like fashion influencers of the future. We’d go so far to say that these buff beauties look almost Hypebeast-worthy (Rick Owens / Yeezy vibes, anybody?)!
The Moon Boots x Moncler collection is now available on their official website, as well as other sites like Farfetch and MyTheresa.com.

We can all be unicorns with Frank Body’s super popular Shimmer Scrub

Frank Body’s Shimmer Scrub was launched earlier this May and along with 90,000 other people on the waitlist, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on it. Sadly, since it sold out so quickly online – within ten days – we missed the boat.
We first tried Frank Body’s Original Coffee Scrub (USD16.95) back in 2013, when it was taking over Instagram with girls taking coffee-slathered selfies. That was the product that Frank Body was known for: their grainy coffee exfoliator, which apart from its utterly divine coffee scent, promised to cure eczema, cellulite, and acne. All while leaving your skin silky smooth. We’d usually be more skeptical of such promises but having tried this product first-hand, we can assure you that the “silky smooth” is a fact.

But their Shimmer Scrub. Now that’s what we’re talking about.

“Follow the call of the disco ball” with Frank Body’s Shimmer Scrub, USD19.95.

The limited edition Shimmer Scrub is back with three times more shimmer. It’s made up of roasted and ground robusta coffee beans, grapeseed oil, Vitamin E, sugar and salt, and most importantly, silver and gold glow dust. Everything in the mix will transform you into the shimmery, shiny, sparkly unicorn you’ve always wanted to be. But jokes aside, this product works as an all-body highlighter that will leave you with shimmery and smooth skin.

Frank Body will also be releasing two more shimmer products: an Illuminator that Frank Body says will give you a “lit-from-within-glow” and a Magic Shimmer Oil that hydrates with “a beautiful, subtle shimmer”.

ZoukOut 2017’s Impressive Lineup Is Full Of EDM, Dance, And Hip Hop

For regular festival-goers, it might seem like ZoukOut’s heyday is over with the seemingly disappointing lineup that seems to be plaguing Asia’s only dusk-to-dawn party these few years. Three years ago, all the EDM heavyweights from the big room and house scene like Hardwell and Zedd filled up the ranks, but this year, the clubber will probably only recognise Axwell /\ Ingrosso and marshmello. You might have considered going to other festivals in the region to get your festival fix now that Neon Lights is taking a break this year, but have you seen ZoukOut’s massive lineup this year?
Just because you haven’t heard of the other 90% of the names on this year’s ZoukOut lineup doesn’t mean you should give it a pass. The lineup goes beyond big room – into hip hop, trance, techno and even hardstyle (no it’s not siam diu music, trust us). Who knows, you might just discover some new artists along the way!
Untitled-1
Of course, we’re all looking forward to Axwell /\ Ingrosso and marshmello, because their songs are what you’ll probably hear at Zouk 10 times a night. Robin Schulz, DJ Snake (who came up with last year’s festival anthem, ‘Middle’) and Yellow Claw are all DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ favourites, and they’ll be sharing the stage with a ton of rising stars. Expect a totally different set from Flume‘s set at Laneway Festival last year, but he’ll still lean towards the futuristic/ experimental side because that’s what we like him for.

Not forgetting the trance fans – Gui Boratto from drum and bass act The Sect is all set to take you to a deeper level of raving. This is the kind of music that is best enjoyed when you’re really high, but we all know that isn’t really an option here. So grab a cold one and lose yourself in the music. Rising techno DJ Amelie Lens is set to be making her debut in Singapore with her heart-throbbing beats. There’s no chanting of any sort in trance or techno, which means you’ll love Gui Boratto and Amelie Lens if you hate all those ‘EH-WAH EH-WAH’ punters.

America has Far East Movement and Dumbfoundead, Bangkok has Thaitanium, and the rest of Southeast Asia has 88risingcrew‘s explosive lineup who is putting hip hop onto the forefront of our regional music scene. Everything from their cutting-edge music to their music videos are a work of art – you won’t want to miss the entire 88risingcrew’s appearance at ZoukOut if you are into hip hop. Keith Ape, the South Korean rapper who is part of the Underwater Squad and behind the hit viral song ‘It G Ma’ promises a hard-hitting performance. If you missed Rich Chigga when he was here for Ultra Singapore in June, you can catch him again (although here’s us hoping that he won’t perform ‘Who That Be’ twice in a row because he has released new music since then). Chinese hip hop group Higher Brothers who burnt Cherry Discotheque to the ground with their beats last month will also be taking the stage alongside Japanese-Australian musician Joji.

Singapore will be represented by Zouk’s house DJs – no surprise here, really. But instead of Hong who usually helms the Zouk main room on weekends, you’ll see a different side as Ferng, Hong’s soul alias, is set to spin. If you realise that you can’t handle all the hip hop and trance, you can be reassured that Lincey, LeNerd and Zouk’s newest resident DJ, Nash D will also be dropping their big room tunes for all you basic clubbers. We’re assuming that either Ghetto or Lincey will be taking the sunrise set, so you might want to stay for that, and then regret it the next day when your body clock is all screwed up.

Other than music, ZoukOut has a whole ton of other activities lined up. The food is always a major highlight (there is nothing more shiok than slurping down a bowl of ramen especially if it rains), and this year, you’ll be able to enjoy the festival from new heights. The newly opened AJ Hackett Bungy Jump will be open for revellers, who get discounted bungy jumps and access to the skybridge, where you’ll get a bird’s eye view of the whole festival. Since they won’t let you fly your drone, just head up to the viewing tower yourself to get that top-down shot!
ZoukOut 2017 is happening on 8 – 9 Dec at Siloso Beach, Sentosa. Visit ZoukOut.com for ticketing details, the full lineup and more info.

Try Deleting Your Messages On Whatsapp Now… It Works!

For years now, the Internet has been spawning with memes of WhatsApp users recoiling in horror as they realise they’ve accidentally sent out something to someone that shouldn’t be read or seen (we’re being intentionally vague). They’ve become a sizeable source of anxiety for the everyday social media engager who has to read through their message several times before hitting “send” or risk being looked at as a doofus by their friends or, worse, their moms.

via GIPHY

Finally, WhatsApp has answered all of our prayers. Upon updating your app to the latest version, you’ll be able to recall messages seven minutes after you’ve sent them, not just from your side of the conversation but from everyone who could potentially see it. The technology is not foolproof, however, as people will still get notified if you’ve sent them a message, which could mean they’ve read it before you decided to delete it.
At least we have a last resort out of trouble. We promise not to use it unless in situations of extreme duress, and we’re definitely not encouraging you to try out the feature just for the sake of.

Chanel x Pharrell x adidas NMD Release Date Confirmed via Colette

Earlier this month, we reported that a Chanel x adidas NMD x Pharrell Williams collab may be in the works. And after much speculation online, the rumours turned out to be true. The exclusive silhouette will be available for purchase exclusively at colette – a French high fashion retailer, as well as at select retailers, on Nov 25.

chanel_adidas_nmd1

As part of Chanel’s takeover of colette, the shoes will be styled in the form of Pharrell’s iconic Hu NMDs, with very strong branding from Chanel. The mock-up photos show the shoe in a two-tone monochrome palette, with embroidery of the words “PHARELL” and “CHANEL” on either side, in addition to a treaded outsole.
This once-in-a-lifetime collab is the culmination of the relationship that Pharrell holds with both brands, as the acclaimed Hip Hop star has been known to work with both Chanel and adidas in the past. Chanel also rarely does partnerships, making these kicks even more of a must-cop item.
chanel_adidas_nmd

As of now, there’s no details regarding local availability and pricing, so your best bet to score these kicks is via colette. If you do, however, you can also check out a range of ready-to-wear ensembles from Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2017 collection, including Karl Lagerfeld-designed t-shirts, knitwear pieces and accessories.

Timberland’s Icon 6” Waterproof Boots Will Keep Your Feet Warm and Toasty in Any Weather

It’s nearing the end of the year and great things are coming. Holidays, bonuses, parties – you name it, they’re all awesome. Even the weather’s getting cooler too, which is pure relief in hot, humid Singapore. But while rainy days are great and everything, they can be bothersome, especially for our feet.
Cue Timberland’s classic Icon 6” boots. Crafted from waterproof leather and fitted with 200 grams of PrimaLoft® insulation (which is basically your foot’s equivalent of tucking oneself in a snug and cosy blanket), these comfy kicks will keep your feet warm and toasty in any weather – be it rain, snow, or sleet.

F17_Q3.2_Womens-6in_2

Of course, Singapore doesn’t have snow or sleet (sigh), but the rain factor is really important over here. Walking through a puddle and soaking your soaks is a sure way of ruining your day, and thankfully, the 6” boots will protect your feet from that tragedy.
That said; the boots have a breathable liner, so you have enough breathing space, even though the seam-sealed leather prevents moisture or unwanted liquids from seeping in. Design-wise, the boots comprise of a stylish velvet collar, leather lining, a recycled rubber outsole, as well as chic velvet ribbon laces.
F17_Q3.2_Womens-6in_1

Want to score these boots? Well, you’re in luck. Since we’re feeling generous, we’ll be giving away three pairs of Timberland’s Icon 6” boots, each worth $299 (for more details, head to our Facebook page). If you’d like to find out more about them, head to Timberland’s website for more information.

Donna Wilson x LeSportsac Brings You Freddie Fox Totes And Cheeky Chipmunk Cases

In collaboration with Le Sportsac, British designer Donna Wilson will soon be launching her first-ever bag and accessory collection. You’ll see Le Sportsac’s Winter 2017 collection transform bestselling classics into quirky but adorable totes, cases, and bags – all featuring Wilson’s woodland creatures or wildlife animals.
This isn’t the first time Wilson’s iconic creations are in town: she held her an exhibition and hosted a pop up shop for her Giant Creatures and Trees in 2015. But we’re certainly enjoying her expedition into Singapore with the new Donna Wilson x LeSportsac collection.

Donna Wilson_Donna Wilson.com
Donna Wilson, holding one of her woodland creatures.

Having grown up on a farm in the tranquil Aberdeenshire countryside, Wilson paints a picture-perfect story of her childhood. By learning handcrafted techniques such as felting, sewing, knitting, and wrapping, Wilson soon fell in love with the art of craft and yep, you guessed it – we fell in love with her craft.
Wilson names each creature, and through her designs, you can see how she’s not only crafted the design but also painstakingly crafted a unique personality for each creature. Where else can you find a graphic-printed cosmetic case that features a knitted cacti plant happily holding a chirpy-looking green balloon?
Cacti
XL Rectangular Cosmetic in Circus, $70.

Or a case with a Panda and chipmunk sleeping snugly side-by-side against a plaid bedspread?

Square Cosmetic in Panda Eyes, $40.

The three that will steal the show will undoubtedly be the totes: Pia Panda, Freddie Fox, and Ziggy Cat. Produced in a warm textured style, the totes come with distinguishable features of each animal – Pia has black blasé eyes, Freddie has pointy ears, and Ziggy has whiskers and a red ribbon adorning an ear.

The collection’s mainstay is the Singing in the Woods print, which features Wilson’s most iconic creatures. The print will be available across Le Sportsac’s best-selling cosmetics, handbags, book bags, and Weekenders.

Going no-makeup-makeup with Madewell’s new Beauty Cabinet

We think of Madewell and we think of denim, leather, and other wardrobe staples. Do you blame us when their tagline states: “Good days start with great jeans”? Granted, effortlessly chic denim but denim nonetheless. They’re the ones we look for when we need a staple leather jacket or another white slouchy tee.

Untitled design (15)
Madewell’s 9″ high-rise skinny jeans: destructed edition ($218.80)

That’s why when Madewell launched the Madewell Beauty Cabinet on 23 Oct, we were surprised but not too surprised to see that the curated collection channels natural and low-maintenance beauty. With cult-favourite brands, Madewell has put together a lineup of natural and non-toxic beauty products that promises to do your skin and hair some good. The lineup of 40 beauty products include an eclectic mix of your everyday beauty needs, including bath salts, lip tints, face masks, and so much more.

The Madewell team has tried and tested the products themselves, and assures us that the collection’s not simply meant to look pretty – instead, it features products that they can’t live without. Although most products are not exclusive to Madewell, the Madewell x French Girl collaboration gives us the new Lavende Blanche range, which has a body oil, bath soak, and body polish. As described, French Girl is handmade and “tested on French girls, never on animals”. That instantly has our stamp of approval.

Madewell’s Beauty Cabinet is only available in the US across 21 of their retail stores as well as their website. Sadly, these coveted beauty products aren’t coming our way anytime soon – we’ll give you the heads-up when Madewell decides to expand their Beauty Cabinet to Singapore.
We completely understand if you need to vent your frustration with some online shopping. Perhaps it’s time to try the Madewell experience firsthand? Their Beauty Cabinet isn’t available but their clothing line is available for international shipping.

Ever Wondered What A Basic B*tch Would Smell Like?

Pumpkin spice lattes. Suede Uggs. Cold-pressed kale juice. Fresh cut grass from Coachella (or wet grass if all you can afford is Laneway Festival).

Does anything come to mind yet? No?

The first thing that popped into our minds is that they are all so basic. We don’t really know why everyone hates basic b*tches. Being basic is nothing to be embarrassed of. If you love that cold-pressed kale juice and bagels, then go right ahead and have them everyday without caring what anyone thinks of you! Nicolas Sparks writes the best romance novels round here, and we all need to dream a little to escape from our boring reality.

In an (ironic) new release, Xyrena has launched its latest fragrance that all basic b*tches will want to douse themselves in because it is the epitome of being basic. And if you need anymore validation of your inner basic b*tch, it would have to be this.

Screen Shot 2017-10-30 at 14.55.26
According to the perfumer, the perfume notes include (of course) pumpkin spice latte, pages from a worn out Nicholas Sparks paperback, boxed merlot, suede Ugg®’s, fresh artisan bagel (obvi gluten-free), cold-pressed kale juice, vanilla froyo, velour tracksuit fabric, Sunday Funday mimhosa, nail art lacquer, and fresh cut grass from Coachella.

The bottle though, is anything but basic-looking. In a flashy black bottle that comes capped with a studded top, the Basic B*tch perfume also comes in a limited edition case that will totally make for a good Instagram post. After you’re done snapping all your photos, the bottle makes a good centerpiece on your dresser table too!

Even though we tend to think of basic b*tches as a female thing, can we also point out that boys can be basic too. This scent is unisex, meaning that this would be a perfect present for that basic guy friend of yours who is always wearing that baseball caps. Now, everyone will be able to smell the basic from a mile away.

HolyCrab is a Tiny Restaurant at Bugis That Serves Crazy Crab Dishes

By Joel Conceicao
Laksa, chicken rice, nasi lemak – these are quintessential Singaporean dishes. They’re the sorts of foods you find in tourist books. Locals love them. Foreigners want to try them. And they’re pretty much an integral part of the Singaporean identity. Chilli crab arguably belongs to this exclusive category.
The famous crustacean dish, usually drizzled in viscous, tomato-based chilli sauce, has found a new purveyor in the heart of Bugis, specifically at Tan Quee Lan Street. Introducing HolyCrab.

HolyCrab - Interior (4)

Interior of HolyCrab

Ignore the clichéd pun that is its name, because this new restaurant is serious about serving up the best crab dishes in town – a tall order in competitive Singapore. The owner, Elton Seah, started HolyCrab as a private dining service in his own home. People liked it, and one of them was Jamie Lim, owner of the neighbouring Joo Bar.
HolyCrab - Interior (5)

The two joined forces to set up shop, and the rest as they say is history. Over here, diners can expect unique variations of their favourite crab dishes. There’s the Green Chilli crab ($9/100g), a cheeky play on our red chilli crab. The Thai-inspired dish comprises of green chilli sauce and deep-fried lemongrass.
holycrab_bugis1

Green Chilli Crab

I personally enjoyed the green chilli crab. I got a fascinating perspective of the crustacean, and it was a welcome change to the red chilli crab that I’ve happily devoured for years. My colleague, Pailin, on the other hand, felt that it was unusual but worth a try – so obviously it’s a dish that divides opinion.
However, both of us agreed that the Orgasmic Crab ($9/100g) – a la salted egg yolk, was excellent. Slathered in a delicious blend of evaporated milk and melted butter, the Orgasmic Crab is one of those feel good dishes that you wish were under a magical spell where it never finishes. It was that addictive.

Finger Lickin’ Good

The Peppa Crab ($9/100g), which is a spin on the white pepper crab dish, is for diners who prefer something light in flavour. I liked it, especially when it came to mopping up the peppery broth with fluffy mantou. Pailin enjoyed it too, although she mentioned she preferred the black pepper version.
holycrab_bugis4

Peppa Crab

But perhaps the most novel flavour we tried was the Balsamic Crab. Inspired by hairy crabs and the use of vinegar, and how Italians like to dip their bread in balsamic vinegar, this dish had the most peculiar combination of sour, sweet, and savoury. Pailin fell in love with it. I found it a little too pungent.
holycrab_bugis5

Balsamic Crab

Other dishes over here include Succumb to Mee – Fried Clam Bee Hoon ($15) which had just about the right amount of wok hei, and the Hooked on Me – a Hokkien Mee-inspired dish that had way too much of it. The cheesy names aside, these are some of the options to fill your stomach if you find that eating just crabs isn’t filling enough.
holycrab_bugis6

Succumb to Mee

holycrab_bugis7

Hooked on Mee

Of course, you’ve got your classic crab dishes to go for here as well, like the standard chilli crab or black pepper crab. But if you’d like to switch things up a little, or to really just experience how crab can be cooked in different ways, then HolyCrab will be right up your alley.
And with the option to order booze from Joo Bar, this tiny joint may just very well carve a permanent place for itself in Singapore’s crab crazy market.
HolyCrab is located at 2 Tan Quee Lan Street, #01-03, 188091. Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday, 11.30am to 2.30pm, 6pm to 10pm; Sunday, 6pm to 10pm. Tel: 84442722

Chiara Ferragni's Instagram Pregnancy Announcement is Just Awwww

Also referred to by her cult fashion brand The Blonde Salad, our favourite fashion influencer Chiara Ferragni announcing her five-month pregnancy on Instagram is the most adorable thing we’ve seen in a while. After only recently named the top social media influencer in the world by Forbes List, Ferragni took to her Instagram account to announce that she and her musician fiancé Fedez are expecting their firstborn child.

In her Instagram post, the couple is seen wearing mismatched Daddy-Mother headgear, smiling lovingly in embrace as they lay in a New York hotel suite bed wearing white bathrobes. In it Ferragni also reveals that she’s currently five months pregnant, and that they’re expecting a baby boy named Raviolo. Unless, it’s an affectionate term — we might have to wait for pics of monogrammed baby clothes to find out (because you know that’ll be a thing). Probably unsurprising for a social media influencer of her stature but still exciting for us, the post has now over a million likes and a wave of support from her somewhat eleven million followers and fans.

Ferragni then expressed her gratitude for the well wishes and congratulations in a video of Fedez dotingly playing with her tiny baby bump. She says, “This year has been the most magical year I’ve experienced,” and we don’t question why. With a well-documented lifestyle of glorious trips, front-row vantage at fashion shows and now awaiting motherhood, Ferragni seems be living out her best self.

With such a gorgeous couple, we can only expect that their kid is set for a life of abundance and opportunity. We can’t wait to see baby pictures of baby Raviolo — we’re already counting down to February 2018!

Esplanade’s Mosaic Music Series Returns with Star-Studded Line-up for 2017 Edition

Calling all music lovers! Clear your schedules. Mark the dates. Esplanade’s Mosaic Music Series is returning from Nov 10 to 14, and it’s going to be a musical extravaganza of epic proportions. The mini festival, which will take place over four days, is back with a stellar line-up featuring the likes of Feist, Shugo Tokumaru, Bernhoft, and more.

Feist_photocredit_Mary Rozzi

Feist (photo credit: Mary Rozzi)

This year’s theme is “The Art of Song”, which celebrates singer-songwriters all over the world; hence every artist here is more or less a solo act – chief among whom is Canadian songbird Feist, who had her last performance at Fort Canning Park for the 2012 edition of Laneway Festival.

Joining her are two exciting debutants – Norwegian multi-instrumentalist and composer Jarle Bernhoft and Danish jazz troupe Sinne Eeg and the Jacob Christoffersen Trio, with Japan’s Shugo Tokumaru completing the line-up. There will also be a collaborative set between Singapore’s Ferry and Canvas Conversations.

What’s cool is that Mosaic Music Series has always been a breeding ground for excellence. Grimes graced the Mosaic stage in 2013, while other Mosaic alumni include Joss Stone, N.E.R.D, and St.Vincent – an impressive list, to say the least.
If you’d like to head down, grab your tickets over here. You probably won’t regret it.

If You're a Lipstick Junkie, You Need to Try a Lip Powder

Through the years, we’ve seen plenty of innovative offerings flood the beauty market, but to this day, the reinventions just keep coming. Take lip products, for instance. From glossy goodness to matte madness, you may think you’ve tried on every formulation out there at this point, but we’d wager you’ve never taken a lip powder out for a spin.

If you recall, we first got acquainted with a lip powder formulation last year by way of Cle Cosmetics’ Melting Lip Powder, and the magic was all in the application. As soon as the powdery product touches the lips and cheeks, the formula begins to liquefy, leaving behind a pigmented stain in a flattering emollient finish.

Riding on the waves of this K-beauty formula, Clinique has launched their new Pop Lip Shadow Cushion Matte Lip Powder. Similar to the Cle Cosmetics Melting Lip Powder, these matte lip powders deliver a vibrant burst of pigment for a bold lip that doesn’t budge or bleed. These babies may have just arrived on the beauty scene, but celebrities like Heidi Klum and Westworld’s Ingrid Bolso Berdal are already fans of this, both flaunting their matte pouts on the red carpet. For added comfort, just prep your lips with a balm first before swiping on the lip powder.

Clinique’s not the only major beauty brand who’s jumped on the powder craze, though. Just last week, we got a sneak peak at Chanel’s Neapolis New City Spring Summer 2018 Collection through the Instagram accounts of all the attendees. Needless to say, one particular product caught our attention. The brand’s key product for January 2018 is none other than their lip palette, which houses a lip balm for the base and a powder lip colour to be dusted on top. Here’s how to use the palette:

Just pat on the balm, and use the cushion tip brush to apply the powder on. You can even use a lip brush to blend out the rest of the product. Simple enough, even for a lipstick novice.

Clinique Pop Lip Shadow Cushion Matte Lip Powder, US$19.50. Available from nordstrom.com.

Pre-order Gucci's Rhyton Sneakers, Like, Right Now

The Bata-esque sneakers featured on the Gucci Cruise Runway 18 show earlier this year that had everyone gossiping about is officially available for pre-order.

rhyton
Rhyton leather sneaker for USD740, Rhyton Gucci logo leather sneakers for USD820

They come in two versions, distressed and logo-ed.
Initially we also wondered if the faint, almost transparent Gucci lettering that appears on the sneakers was a digital watermark and not actually part of the design of the shoes. After scrolling through the product shots and zooming on them in tight close-up, we can confirm that it actually is. They also feature Gucci’s insignia, with red and green stripes that frankly look like they were applied with highlighters running out of ink.
With that being said, these shoes are an acquired taste we think we can get on board with. It’s the kind of shoes that make us thankful for the fashion system — at first we might viscerally despise what we see, but over time it grows on us to the point where we just know we can’t live without it. With the enormous success over the recent Triple-S sneakers (hurray resellers!), we’re predicting that these shoes will be gone in no time.
And if you need any more conviction to try the “ugly” shoe trend, just ask Jaden Smith, the new face of Louis Vuttion womenswear. Or Denma Gvasalia of Balenciaga. Or Christopher Kane. Or… you get our point.

Benefit’s popular Gimme Brow Eyebrow Gel has just been pulled from shelves. It’s time to look at other alternatives, and meanwhile check out our list of cult products for every brow need (and yes, Benefit’s Gimme Brow was then included too).

The silver lining is that you can get a full refund of the product by returning it to your original place of purchase. According to a statement released on their website, they’re “initiating a voluntary recall…after discovering that recent batches of the product did not meet our stringent quality standards”. The product is described as risk-free if applied on the brows, but might cause eye irritation if it comes into contact with the eyes.

Benefit

Well… we could’ve told you that too but it sounds like Benefit’s simply looking out for you and your brow needs. Good to know that one of our favourite beauty brands cares.
In mimicking the look of real hair for fuller brows the Gimme Brow Eyebrow Gel received stellar reviews online. Customers were gushing over the Gel’s natural-looking coverage and ability to hold brows in place. We’ve always relied on Benefit for good ol’ brow styling, trusting that they know what’s best for our brows and we’re singing the same tune here.

Products to wow your brows

Even without the Gimme Brow Eyebrow Gel, we can still shape and style our brows with the Brow Zings Eyebrow Shaping Kit ($56) or Soft & Natural Brows Kit ($60). Both kits come with everything you need to sculpt, shape, and fill your brows. The Foolproof Brow Powder ($42) is another favourite in transforming sparse brows to full brows, giving you a natural eyebrow look.

All Gimme Brow formulas have since been removed from authorised retailers.
