You Can Shop Proenza Schouler's "Everyday" Line Very Soon

Proenza Schouler has always been a hot favourite under our fashion radar. Their youthful perspective on the New York aesthetic has cast a wide net of appeal to sartorial enthusiasts worldwide, but their upcoming launch is sure to convert many who have looked to the brand for their aspirational qualities into paying customers.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BapZIRiguMY/?hl=en&taken-by=proenzaschouler

They’re coming out with a a sister label called PSWL (short for Proenza Schouler White Label). While they’ve been deliberate not to call it a diffusion line, PSWL is set to feature more democratic staples like t-shirts, sweatshirts, denim and outerwear that are easier to incorporate into everyone’s wardrobes. These pieces will also cost from USD195 to as USD1195, which comes at a considerably more accessible price point than what their main line costs.
Part of Proenza Schouler’s millennial appeal is incorporating activism into its brand marketing and runway shows, and it seems like PSWL will continue to foster that authenticity, a large contributing factor to its success. According to a release, creative director duo Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez plan to feature use more diverse casting to help promote the label, which includes featuring their close friends who will help to communicate the more casual ethos of the new brand.

pswl2

In an interview with Teen Vogue, McCollough and Hernandez explain using Chloë Sevigny in their campaign to hype up PSWL. “Chloë has always been a dear friend of ours. Besides her huge heart, her style is iconic and truly inspiring. She can mix a bit of high fashion with a bit of the street like no one else.” In fact, the looks were styled by Sevingy herself and the pictures were taken by her boyfriend. Just the thought of how the photoshoot went definitely conjures the gritty atmosphere PSWL is striving towards.

Unsurprisingly, PSWL is gearing up for huge commercial success. With the official launch on November 6 and a second collection to be released in January 2018, PSWL will be made available in many of our favourite stockists and e-commerce sites including Farfetch, Browns and Nordstrom. You can also check out the whole collection of PSWL on Proenza Schouler’s official website when it drops.

Last Minute Halloween Ideas That Don't Look Like You Only Thought Of It Two Hours Before

If you love dressing up, then Halloween is the perfect holiday for you because you get to all-out in your costumes! From famous movie characters to real life music icons or – there’s no better way to put – things, there are endless options out there. Usually we’ll start planning way ahead on our Halloween costumes so that we don’t end up scrambling for ideas 5 hours before that exclusive Halloween party that we managed to score last-minute invites to.
Most of the time, other people can tell if you put effort into your costume, and you don’t want to end up looking frumpy. You might as well just have not put in any effort at all! As a makeup junkie, we’re pretty sure that you would have a lot of spare makeup on hand, so get creative and put those brushes to good use!
Contouring is a necessary part of every girl’s makeup routine, so let’s start off with a look that you can easily create with those contouring skills of yours. Disney fan or not, you would have heard of Bambi, the adorable little baby deer in the forest. All you need is a contouring palette and liquid eyeliner. Finish off with pair of dramatic falsies and some deer ears if you can find them will help you finish your look. Highlight and contour all the forest fairies out of your way!

You might have thought of resorting to recreating the Wednesday Addams look with pleats and a black dress, but that’s way too cliched. If you have mainly a black wardrobe, you might want to consider becoming a black and white photo. We don’t mean just wearing black and white clothes, but actually dyeing your skin to look like you just stepped out from a grayscale photo from the 1900s. Plus points if you have vintage clothes! If you have grey face paint lying around, or mix together black and white face paint to get your perfect shade of grey, which you can then apply onto your skin everywhere. If you have sensitive skin, you might want to get a water-based pigmented base like the Aquacolor in Deep Black. Do the rest of your makeup as per normal with (you can even use smoky eyeshadow and contour), but make sure to use a black lipstick! This would also work easier if you had deep brown/ black hair so you don’t have to worry about dying it too.

Pop art looks are also quite easy to do if you’ve got black liquid eyeliner on hand! All you have to do is just draw the lines on your face to look like a 2D comic book character. Don’t be pressured to follow any one character (Wonder Woman seems to be really popular this year), make yourself a comic book character. Red lips work well to finish the look, as well as bright eyeshadows like yellow or green. Liquid eyeliner in other colours (you would want them to be neon, bright colours) will also give you more room to play around with. You can also draw on a couple of tears or some add some lines around your neck and collarbones to accentuate them.

Some people go all out in full gory, while others go down the super slutty and trashy look. Here’s one where you can go full out on your makeup, and no one will be judging you too hard. This is your once chance to let your inner drag queen out! (By any chance if a guy is reading this, listen to heart and do it too.) Really, really go all out on the colours – the more garish, the better. Make sure all the makeup you’re using is ether all matte or super sparkly and shiny. Think super arched eyebrows, big hair and bright lips. Have an equally attention-grabbing dress or outfit and some huge-ass earrings, and you’ll be good to go.

You can also add in some falsies under your eyes for a cheeky look. Halloween is the only time we’ll accept this beauty trend because it won’t be the worst thing that gives us a heart attack.
Female-Drag-Queen

Finally, this one is a little bit trickier, and you would want to pull in a more artistically-inclined friend to help you out here. Makeup illusionists must love Halloween because their trippy makeup will have you looking at them more than twice to make sure that you didn’t have one too many drinks. Get ready to be mind-blown. We advise not attempting this, unless you are confident in your own or your friend’s drawing skills.

The Return Of The Scrunchie

Fictional fashion icon Carrie Bradshaw once said, when mocking her boyfriend Berger for mentioning a scrunchie in his novel: “I loved it…except for one huge problem. You have your leading lady running all over town wearing a scrunchie. A scrunchie!”.

3831f05a07219bd8009d98f96d0413fc

Berger’s retort, with squinted eyes

That was said circa 2003. As much as we like to deny it, the scrunchie was a hair staple in the 80s and part of the 90s. You might have owned one (or many) as a kid. Think shoulder pads, nylon tights, and legwarmers – all things we thought we left in the 80s.
gallery-1443036593-shoulder-pads

Remember this?

Don’t mind the embarrassing photos of you and your scrunchie because that chunky elasticised fabric wrapped around your hair is now due for a comeback.
Granted, its revitalisation has been long overdue. While designers like Missoni, Marc Jacobs and even street fashion labels like American Apparel and Topshop reintroduced the scrunchie in their 2013 collections, it never quite caught on.
Most recently, it made a debut at New York Fashion Week with Mansur Gavriel’s Fall 2017 show.

iPhone X in Singapore: Pre-orders Start Today, Prices Unveiled

It’s been just over a month since the iPhone X was unveiled. And while we’ve had plenty of time to play around with the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus since then, the game changer we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. Pre-orders for the iPhone X start today (Oct 27), from 3pm onwards on apple.com and the App Store.
The phone will be available in Silver and Space Grey in 64GB ($1,648) and 256GB ($1,888), making it the most expensive iPhone of all time.

iPhone_X_front_face

If you don’t mind waiting a little, the iPhone X will be made available a week later on Nov 3 at 8am onwards. Early birds can jostle it out for a limited number of sets at Apple’s Orchard Road Store. But be prepared for a really long queue. The iPhone X isn’t one of this year’s most highly anticipated phones for nothing.
Featuring an all-glass and stainless steel design, with a 5.8-inch super retina edge-to-edge infinity display, the iPhone X has plenty of new features that Apple fans can look forward to. It comes with wireless charging, facial recognition, and Animoji, which captures and analyses facial muscle movements to create wacky emojis.
All customers who buy an iPhone X from Apple will be offered free Personal Setup in-store or online.

Kim Kardashian is About to Launch Her New Crystal Gardenia Fragrance

Earlier this year, Kim Kardashian blessed us with an impressive lineup of cosmetics dedicated to contouring and baking our skin with a deep, healthy tan. And as if she thought she needed more proof of how hardworking she is, she took to her Instagram account just five days after her 37th birthday to announce the latest project set to be launched under her KKW Beauty label — a KKW Fragrance which we’re already expecting will fly off the shelves into the hands of her diehard fans (everyone).

In an interview with W Magazine, Kim casually revealed that her new fragrance is named “Crystal Gardenia.” The two entities have certainly been teased on her Instagram account lately, and if Kim’s hints are any indication of what the fragrance will smell like, we’re expecting ethereal, floral notes.

While this is Kim’s first solo endeavour producing a fragrance, she’s actually worked on a whopping seven other scents in the past with parent company Lighthouse Beauty. The girl clearly has an affinity for flowers, with orchids being the main extract of her first perfume. After she made a (cheeky) mistake captioning “Gardenia” on a post with an image of orchids, we’re predicting that she’s trying to tell us that she’s harkening back to the good old days with this new scent.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BarVqjNFVJk/?taken-by=kkwfragrance

Mark your calendars for November 15, the release date of Crystal Gardenia, and start following the official account for @KKWFragance, which will probably be a platform for BTS footage, close-ups of the fragrance being spritzed in front of pastel or nude-toned backgrounds, and announcements of future fragrance launches.

McDonald’s Launches Ninja Burger to Join Forces with Samurai Burger

McDonald’s has been busy lately. The fast food giant, fresh from unveiling a new delivery partnership with UberEATS, today revealed via a press release the launch of the all-new Ninja Burger, which will be available in all restaurants and via McDelivery from Nov 2 onwards.

Ninja Burger

Ninja Burger

Comprising of a crispy chicken thigh patty that’s propped in between two lightly toasted charcoal sesame buns, and slathered with the sweetness of Japanese Nanban sauce, the Ninja Burger will also pack sliced cucumbers and shredded white cabbage with tartar sauce for that Japanese flavour.

The Ninja Burger’s distant relatives: the Samurai Burgers

And what would McDonald’s be without its specials right? The Ninja Special meal will be available from $9.20, and will include Seaweed Shaker Fries (L), and Heaven & Earth Green Tea (M). The burger’s a la carte price is $6.40.
Will the Ninja Burger overshadow the recently launched Samurai Burger, or gasp, will the legendary Nasi Lemak burger be eclipsed? Well, there’s only one way to find out, and that’s to head down to the nearest McDonald’s on Nov 2.

Take A Closer Look At NARS' Mesmerising Holiday Collection At This NARS x NYLON Event

There are a lot of things we look forward to when the holiday season comes around, and among the festivities and gatherings and both the giving and receiving of gifts, there’s one thing that definitely ranks high on our yearly priorities too: holiday makeup collections. Come on, can you really resist those gilded cases and glittery eyeshadows and limited edition bundles? Suddenly, the year of matte gets thrown out the window, and we’re introduced to shimmery shades that are out to make you glow.
And then, there’s NARS. Sure, we can count on the brand for consistently delivering beautiful products (just check out that gold highlighter), but François Nars loves to imbue thought and culture along with his classy creations, which explains this mesmerising Man Ray for NARS Holiday 2017 Collection.

Each piece feels like an exquisite collector’s item, and that’s mostly because of the graphic elements that encase the gifting sets — lipsticks as well as cheek and eyeshadow palettes come packaged in cases that reflect the nature of Man Ray’s iconic images.
The artist was renowned for his influential work in photography and filmmaking, and for playing a major role in the development of the Dada and Surrealist movements across America and Europe; together with French artist Marcel Duchamp, they formed the New York group of Dada artists, while Man Ray also took the time to photograph portraits of Paris’ cultural elite, the likes of Pablo Picasso and Coco Chanel. NARS, then, celebrates his art with artistic cases and a palette of bolds and brights that evoke the artist’s wit and imagination.

nars-man-ray-3

We’ve talked a lot about it here, but some things just deserve a second mention. In particular, the Overexposed Glow Highlighter ($65) that promises a universally flattering golden glow, and comes complete with that seductive lip motif stamped on the powder formula too; some high-shine lip glosses in the Photogloss Lip Lacquer ($40); or NARS’ best-selling Anita Audacious Lipstick ($46), a pleasant rose shade, now in a luxe gold case that’s a gilded departure from the minimalist black ones, that we can’t wait to get our hands on it too.
nars-man-ray
Pretty much all the box sets are our immediate faves. You can’t go wrong with the Lipstick Coffrets ($85), the Veil Cheek Palette ($80) that has a buildable trio of shades including a bright watermelon, as well as the Glass Tears Eyeshadow Palette ($80), practically a steal because this festive stunner will turn you into one too in a range of unique light-to-dark shades. Then again, they may be tricky to master for the eyeshadow beginner; where do you begin to blend that on-trend gold shade with the rest of the dark moss, deep ocean and rich brown? Not to mention, all the “bolds and brights” mentioned earlier.
Get ready to find out. The NARS Holiday Collection drops in stores in November, and there are two exciting events where you can hone your makeup skills. First, we’ll be giving you a chance to master the mesmerising shades in the series, thanks to an exclusive NYLON x NARS Kiss. Play. Man Ray Party.
This will be happening on 10 Nov, Fri, 7 – 9pm at NARS 391 Orchard at B1-53, Ngee Ann City, and will include a makeup demonstration by NARS Regional Artist, Watchrothai K, Beam from NARS Thailand, featuring the Man Ray for NARS Holiday Collection. You’ll then be able to try out the Holiday Collection for yourself.

How To Rock Oversized Sleeves

Fall is full of baggy silhouettes because sweatshirts and hoodies are just too comfortable to resist! Other than your hoodie, there are also so many different ways of working oversized clothes into your wardrobe. While we love oversized clothes, sometimes we don’t want to be drowning in too much fabric because it’s way too hot but we still want that oversized silhouette. Well, maybe you would want to try out oversized sleeves. You can have a fitted shirt or blouse with elongated flare sleeves that gives you an added air of grandeur, and you won’t have to worry about losing your figure. After all, you go to the gym for a reason!
Need some ideas on how to wear oversized sleeves? Here’s some of our favourite ways of wearing it.

A How-to Guide Surviving "Hotumn" (Hot Autumn) In Style

We can’t believe we’re announcing this too, but the unrelenting weather has officially found its way into the fashion lexicon. Reports from NASA have confirmed 2017 to be the second hottest year ever, and as Singaporeans we can double-down on the sentiment that our country’s humidity and inconsistent weather dampens our mood to dress up every day.
“Hotumn,” as it is now being referred to, is a condition that has turned off many people from experimenting with their favourite fall trends. And while it’s nearly impossible for us to ever don insanely insulating pieces like a Vetements’ puffer coat or a Fendi fur jacket, we can nonetheless continue to look to the catwalk for inspiration and interpret those aesthetics to suit the climate of our everyday lives. We have curated a series of items representing key trends of this season from Zalora (we have a promo code, scroll all the way down!) which are affordable, and with their new express delivery service, incredibly convenient to buy online.
Remember the Primary Colours: Red, Yellow and Blue

redblueyellow
Red Tapered Leg Trousers SGD69.90, Petite Blue Ruched Bardot Top SGD29.90, Front Pocket Cropped Hoodie SGD69.90

Throw out the idea that “an outfit can only have a maximum of three colours or you’ll look like a clown.” Colour block a look so that it packs as much punch as possible. Experiment with bold tones to liven up classic structures and stick to materials like linen, cotton and denim that are comfortable and cooling but still look fresh.
Small Bags That Are As Fun As Your Personality

smallbag
Pom Pom Detail Basket Bag SGD39.90, Rosie Bug Jewel Crossbody Bag SGD63.90, Falorni Woven Hobo Shoulder Bag SGD1,560

The smaller the bag, the easier they are to manage. Plus, you don’t have to scramble through an endless pit just to extract tissue paper so that you can wipe your forehead full of sweat. And since they don’t have to conform to the weather as much, this gives you a greater opportunity to express your personal taste and style.
Don’t Get Your Boots Wet, They’re Literally Precious Jewels

boots
Leore Boots SGD51.90, Chisel Glitter Boots SGD119.90, Glitter Sock Boots SGD89.90

Thanks to Chanel, we’re all drooling over the idea of coveting glitter boots at the moment. We’re not yet ready to invest in $1,000 in anything to be honest, but it won’t be the worst sight to be caught dead in a pair of shoes that sparkle like diamonds.

What You Need To Know Before Bingeing On Stranger Things S2

Stranger Things was an instant hit since its release last July.
Its refreshingly analog world and nostalgic 80s atmosphere propelled the show into a cultural phenomenon. It was the TV series everyone was talking about. Part of Stranger Things’ appeal is its supernatural storyline that’s set in complete contrast to the wholesome suburban town. Up to now, we’ve been reminiscing over Stranger Things S1 but since finding out that the next season is released 27 Oct, we’ve decided to prepare a quick recap for those who can’t quite remember what they thoroughly enjoyed.

gallery-1499785028-stranger-things-2-full-poster

Here goes:
A bunch of kids were riding their bikes, playing Dungeons & Dragons in their parents’ basement, the scrawny kid (Will) went missing, a girl with psychic powers (Eleven) appears, a creepy monster called a Demogorgon existed in walls accompanied by a rhythmically pulsating synths – wait, what?
Throw in a secret CIA experiment on humans at the Hawkins National Laboratory, completely irresponsible adults (all but two: scrawny kid’s mum and drunk Police Chief), and pop culture references to the works of Stephen King and Steven Spielberg. There you have it, the very basic gist of the show.
Of course, there are still so many holes to fill but instead of reading a block of mass text, why not check out Matthew Roger’s video below?

Matthew Roger’s recap of S1

Now, we left the first season with one hell of a cliffhanger. During a Christmas dinner with his family, Will went to the bathroom to cough up a slug. Did he bring something back with him from the Upside Down? What ever happened to Eleven? Many budding theories are already floating around the net.

Will dashing off midway through Christmas dinner.

That gruesome demon slug.

Some say that the Demogorgon monster needs a human host for its eggs, suggesting that Will could potentially be hosting the spawn of the monster.
As for Eleven, many are wondering if she’s transported herself to the Upside Down – but what about the toxic air?
We’re also curious about the Nancy-Jonathon-Steve love triangle. Steve’s meant to be the more attractive but Jonathon has that whole misunderstood “nice guy” image going for him.
We’ll be finding out tomorrow on Netflix. Meanwhile, check out the trailer below.

Netflix will release Season 2 with all nine episodes on Oct 27 worldwide. Just in time for the weekend.

Jabra’s Waterproof Earbuds Actually Tell You How to Get Fit

The fitness wearable market is yugeee (say that like Donald Trump). Exercise used to be just you and your reps – well, not anymore. Whether it’s smartwatches, fitness bands, or even earbuds, more and more people are using technology to keep in shape, and there’s been a seismic shift in exercise trends, so the way we listen to music while working out has changed too.

Enter the Jabra Elite Sport. As its name handily suggests, these earbuds are an “elite” form of sport earphones – completely wireless, with two microphones in each bud to filter out background noise and a waterproof rating of IP67 (you can dunk it up to a metre underwater for 30 minutes, and it won’t come close to spoiling).
jabra_elite_sport1

Jabra Elite Sport in Lime Green with Charging Case

But that’s not the real draw of this petite gadget. The Elite Sport comes packed with a precise heart rate monitor. It can then be paired with the Jabra Sport Life app to track and analyse your fitness. That includes automatically counting your reps, predicting pace, getting recovery tips, and monitoring your absolute fitness levels.
All this happens via “in-ear coaching”, which basically means that this operating system literally tells you how to get fit, like in the movie Her, just that everything’s fitness-focused here.
jabra_elite_sport2

The Elite Sport is pretty much waterproof

And you know what they all say: battery life is king. Look forward to 4.5 hours of playtime with the Elite Sport, and bump it up to a total of 13.5 hours of power with a portable charging case. However, we suggest that you find the right ear tips for a secure fit, lest they feel too bulky when you exercise.
The Jabra Elite Sport isn’t a new gadget by any means (having been released last December), although this is a new version that has upgraded battery life. It will retail for $368 and will be available from early November 2017 at authorised Jabra retailers. The Elite Sport is available in Lime Green Grey and Black.

These Minimalist Watches Are Perfect For Every Outfit and Occasion

Now that they’re practically on everyone’s wrist, you’ve probably been introduced to the Daniel Wellington brand by way of their signature multi-coloured strap watches. It’s easy to see why plenty of people own one, though. Depending on your outfit, these thin, recognisable NATO straps can lend an instant nautical vibe or give it a slight touch of the Hamptons, making it an incredibly versatile option for all. As much as Daniel Wellington himself loved those straps, however, that’s not all the brand is known for.
Today, we’re taking a closer look at 4 outfit-elevating offerings from the brand for both women and men.

(L-R): Classic Petite Bondi, Classic Petite Melrose

Since white shoes have made a comeback this season, white watches too have made quite the statement this year, but Daniel Wellington’s Classic Petite Bondi watch has taken it to a whole new level. Fusing the rose gold stainless steel detail with an eggshell white dial and fresh white leather strap offers an elegant and contemporary look that’s imbued with attitude. True to its trademark versatility and clever design (who doesn’t love the idea of interchangeable straps?), the Classic Petite range also lets you switch out to a mesh strap, and since we’re suckers for rose gold, we’ve got our eyes set on the Classic Petite Melrose which has that lovely finish against an ebony black dial for a chic contrast.

(L-R): Classic Oxford, Classic Cornwall

Of course, we can’t talk about Daniel Wellington without heading back to their famed NATO straps. These classic timepieces were designed with great attention to detail, evident in the Classic Oxford design. Weaving playful colours together allows the strap to blend in seamlessly with the simple dial, crafting the perfect accessory to suit laid back and even formal occasions. If you’re looking to kick that formal element up a notch, the Classic Cornwall will do just that. The all-black NATO strap on black dial proves that minimalism is truly timeless. Coupled with touches of silver detailing, this classic will always be there to elevate any attire.
If you’ve noticed, each watch is one that’s minimalistic in nature, svelte and sophisticated with its clean, streamlined form. It’s no wonder these watches have become mainstays in many an accessory drawer. With that, we went ahead and got 4 members of the NYLON team to style their look around these elegant wrist staples from Daniel Wellington. Have a look at what we picked out to go with our casual and formal ensembles.

Let’s kick things off with my pick. When I’m not entirely clad in black, I stick to a white and blue palette, so you’ll often find that colour combination wrapped under a denim jacket on weekends. To pull this whole relaxed look together, I went for the Classic Petite Bondi, which is just the complementary touch of elegance that’s missing from the ensemble. While it is indeed comprised of leather and stainless steel, it wraps around my wrist comfortably and bears none of that clunky weight you’d expect, thanks to the slim watch face and strap. For someone who doesn’t like wearing watches, this one may have finally changed my mind.

Amelia Tan, Associate Editor
FORMAL: Classic Petite Melrose, $249

Her style may lean a little more feminine, but instead of steering into the predictable cocktail dress route for a polished evening look, Amelia’s opted to style herself around the Daniel Wellington Classic Petite Melrose. Like we said, it’s a trendy shade we love to incorporate into every look! Here, she’s picked out a bronze skirt with a sheen that mirrors the rose gold, and she’s paired that with a navy top with sleeve embellishments to keep an otherwise simple top interesting. From accessories to beauty items, we’re pretty sure you can tell she’s got a good eye for subtle details, and they definitely go a long way in making one stand out against a sea of black attire.

Joel Conceicao, Writer
CASUAL: Classic Oxford, $239
joel1
joel2
Joel likes to keep his outfits simple with an unexpected twist. For this look, he’s gone for a loose-fitting shirt with a tropical print on it, playing up the element of colour against his dark skinny jeans. In the same vein, the Classic Oxford he’s chosen sits well with the bands wrapped around his wrist, adding nautical vibes to their rustic charm. Slip-on shoes are a universal pick for comfort and convenience, and to top off a chill outfit, he loves to don on those circular shades which make him “unashamedly feel like Morpheus from the Matrix.”

Adli Sazali, Editorial Assistant
FORMAL: Classic Cornwall, $229
adli1
adli2
Black is versatile colour that goes well with everything, which is why the all-black Classic Cornwall caught Adli’s eye. And while it’s easy to follow suit with an all-black outfit, Adli’s actually gone the opposite direction. Here, he’s paired a preppy white mandarin-collared shirt with beige chinos – one of his go-to combinations when it comes to colour-blocking. To give the overall look an athletic appeal, he’s also thrown on an olive bomber jacket and coupled it with a curved baseball cap, toning down an overly formal attire.

Available now at all official Daniel Wellington stores located at Raffles City, Suntec City, Vivo City, Tampines One, TANGS at Tangs Plaza and online at danielwellington.com and cocomi.com.

We Like Our Sunnies Slightly Oversized And Mostly Edgy

So many elements to consider when you’re on a hunt for your next new pair of sunnies – frames, textures, patterns, gradients, what else? Whether you like them covering your face à la Victoria Beckham or with a retro cat-eye frame that sharply turns upwards, this season’s sunglasses are back oversized but not necessarily chunky. We’re more than ready to experiment with these sunglasses styles – some of them are timeless classics with a unique twist, some of them edgy enough to be a standalone accessory.
We know. Oversized sunnies have been on trend on and off over the past few years. But hey, why deny it when some of the best designers out there are crafting some of the best oversized designs?
Not to worry, oversized doesn’t instantly equate to looking “bug-eyed”. Rest your niggling fears, and here’s a trick to pulling off oversized sunnies: find a pair that contrasts the shape of your face. If your face tends towards a rounder shape, then a square frame is the perfect fit and vice versa.
Gentle Monster recently opened in Singapore (boy, were we pleased about it), and gave us access to the cult-favourite South Korean eyewear brand.

Miu Miu’s following right on track too, with their square framed acetate pair that’s playfully lined with blue shimmering glitter.

Chloe’s Gold Oversized Round Sunglasses come with yellow gradient lenses that don’t seem that great at protecting you from sun exposure. But why complain, when it makes you look this good?

And of course, Fendi’s Run Away glasses. Featuring Fendi’s new round F-logo, these sunglasses come in striking colours including Blue, Brown, Pink, Red and Black. Although they look startlingly plain at first glance, a closer look lets us appreciate the playful metal frame that comes in with a double bridge to emphasise the rounded structure.

If you’re not after conventional frames, why not try something a bit more quirky – like a heart-shaped mirrored pair from Saint Laurent? Almost a cat-eye shape but not quite, this frame promises to flatter almost all face shapes while defining your cheekbones.
