Review: The Activity Tracker Made For The Fitness Newbie

By Tami Lai
I’m more used to reviewing somewhat more frivolous things like bubbling face masks and liquid eyeliners, so when my editor asked me if I wanted to give this activity tracker a go, I was pretty stumped. What am I even supposed to be looking out for…?
The activity tracker in question is TomTom’s Touch Cardio, launched a couple months back. What it is is a basic model that has the main functions of measuring your heart rate, physical activity, and sleep. Aesthetics-wise, it’s nothing too fancy as well – both the main module and the silicone strap come in a standard black (though you can switch out the strap for other colour options), basically what I imagine a very normal activity tracker is supposed to look like.

tomtom-touch-cardio

So, with zero experience in reviewing fitness tech products, I give this a whirl, to see if it’s really as newbie-friendly as it’s meant to be.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The Touch Cardio’s module features a finger-sized indentation at the bottom, which you’re supposed to lightly press to wake up the screen. This turns on the OLED display shows the white numbers and icons, which is nicely contrasted against the black screen.
It takes me a while to figure out how to move beyond the main home screen, which tells me the time. Turns out, the rest of the screens are accessed by either swiping up or down. Swipe upwards to see the heart rate and activity trackers; swipe down to see your steps count, number of calories burnt, distance travelled, length of activity time, and sleep monitor.
This takes some getting used to; it’s easy to forget what swiping in either direction shows you. Also, the screen isn’t the most responsive, so sometimes it takes a few swipes to get things moving.

GENERAL PERFORMANCE
My exercise routine comprises of pretty much just… jogging a few kilometres around my neighbourhood a few times a week. Which is, after all, cardio, so I guess I’ll be using the Touch Cardio right.
So I brought it out for one of my runs, and made sure to check my stats right after. To get the Touch Cardio to start tracking your activity, you’re supposed to press down on the indentation until you feel the module vibrate; a flashing green light will also appear at the back, indicating that it has entered Sports mode. To exit Sports mode after your workout, press down on the indentation again.

Touch_Cardio_Black_Back

All TomTom devices do so via the TomTom Sports app, available for free download on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Here are some of the key metrics displayed on the app after my workout:
tomtom-active-time tomtom-distance
tomtom-heartrate tomtom-summary

The app does have nice aesthetics, and breaks down the key info in a way that’s easily understandable and digestible. The Touch Cardio doesn’t have a GPS function, nor can it measure altitude, so these are really just a basic set of statistics for an average workout.
I also tried tracking my sleep, which took a little getting used to, because I find the idea of wearing an activity tracker to bed strange. I gave this function a try over a couple of nights last month, and here are my results:

tomtom-sleep

I gave this sleep tracking thing a couple of tries, and both times, the TomTom gave me quite puzzling results. After while, I realised what could be the cause: the strap was a little too large for my wrist, causing it to fall off in the middle of the night, hence the disrupted readings. To be honest, it didn’t bother me much, because I never really saw the point in tracking your sleep anyway…

WHAT I LIKED
Essentially, the TomTom Touch Cardio is nothing fancy, and that works out for a complete activity tracker newbie like me. By reducing the number of functions, it makes the device easier to understand; after all, when it comes to my own workouts, there’s really nothing much I need or want to measure besides the distance I’ve covered, time taken, and calories burnt.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE
TomTom promises a battery life of up to 5 days for this, which is reasonable enough. However, I assumed this was with regular use; there were a couple of occasions when I wanted to use it for a run after a few days of not using it, only to find that the battery had gone flat.
And as previously mentioned, the touch screen’s functionality could do with some improvement. When you’re pounding the pavement and trying to take a quick glance at your stats, there really isn’t time to be fiddling with a not-so-responsive touch screen.

TO SUM IT UP…
Trying the TomTom Touch Cardio as my first-ever activity tracker was a simple enough experience. Using it with the well-designed TomTom Sports app made me more keen on setting workout and fitness goals for myself, so it’s a relatively good product to get you started on a healthier lifestyle.
Price-wise, the Touch Cardio is relatively more affordable than many of its closest competitors, another factor that makes it suitable for a first-timer. But as time goes by and you’d like to up your fitness game, you’ll probably need a more sophisticated model that can keep up.

Outfit Inspo To Help You Tackle Singapore's Sweltering Heat

Dressing up to accommodate to Singapore’s weather can leave a lot of people in a dilemma. Should one wear long sleeved or short sleeved tees? Shorts or skinny jeans? To bring or not to bring along a jacket? Because here in Singapore, one moment it could be scorching hot as if we’ve been teleported to the Sahara Desert, leaving us with boob sweat, thigh sweat and the horrendous underarm sweat stains. And the next, it’s raining cats and dogs, and we just wished we wore sandals out instead of sneakers. So ahead, we came up with seven outfit inspirations for you to combat the annoying humidity that unfortunately is unavoidable but can be worked around with.

When it comes to dressing up for work, do note that the only time when you’re out of the air-conditioned office is when you’re making your way to work, for lunch, running short errands, and when you knock off. So an airy top together with a pair of long working pants would be a great combination since you can simply prop a jacket over when it gets cold in the office, but still stay comfortable when you’re out. For casual office wear, camisoles are always a great option. But instead of going for a simple one, switch it up a bit by opting for straps that are a lil playful like this ruffled camisole from Topshop. Pair it with lightweight trousers and heels that are easy to slip into, and you’re good to go!

Look1

1. Mango Chalk-Stripe Trousers via Zalora, $49.90; 2. Topshop Ruffle Cold Shoulder Camisole Top, $59.90; 3. Zara Mini Tote Bag with Metal Handles, $49.90; 4. Zara Flat Pointy Leather Shoes, $79.90

Ruffles will always be a trend for summer and there are many ways you can style them, and skirts are a smart option if you want air to circulate “down there” so as to avoid nasty thigh sweat. With this ruffled gingham skirt from Stylenanda, you can get two looks in one. For a formal look, tuck in a simple black wrapped blouse into the skirt and complete the look with a pair of pointed pumps. And when you’re going out for a casual meet-up with friends, this breathable preppy crop top from Zara and old school Nike Cortez sneakers transforms the look immediately. Saddle bags are always a classic addition to any look, so sling across this one from Mansur Gavriel to finish off.
Look4

1. Style Nanda Flounce Trim Tiered Gingham Skirt, US$48; 2. Zara Top with Bow at the Back, $45.90; 3. Zara Long Sleeve Crossed Front Blouse, $69.90; 4. Nike Leather White Cortez Trainers via ASOS, $140.08; 5. Mansur Gavriel Saddle Leather Shoulder Bag via Net-a-Porter, US$796

For the summer holidays, sundresses are your best friends. Floral and feminine pieces are definitely our favourites and this flowy dress from Topshop is your best bet to tackling Singapore’s fiery temperatures. Sometimes, carrying bags can be a chore when all you want to do is dry yourself with a pack of tissues, without bits of it sticking on your forehead. So why not go for some hands-free action with this belt bag from Rebecca Minkoff? And girls, whether you are long or short-haired, hairs always tend to stick to the back of your neck when you start sweating. Talk about #girlpains. Avoid that by bundling up your hair with a pretty pleated head scarf that matches with these beach-friendly espadrilles.
Look2

1. H&M Pleated Head Scarf, $14.90; 2. Topshop Daisy Print Frill Tea Dress, $76.90; 3. Rebecca Minkoff Belt Bag via Nordstrom, $143.50; 4. Kendall + Kylie Ariela Espadrille via Revolve, $182.53

Wearing clothes with heavy embellishments or accessorising with chunky jewelry is a big no no in Singapore because not only do they weigh down your clothes, it leaves sweat marks on them! Eek! Well, the trick here is to wear patterns and designs so you don’t have to add on anything to spice up your look. But of course, earrings are still acceptable and tassels are super in trend, so you’d better get in on them. And although slabbing on sunscreen is second nature to us, hats are always a yes especially when they go well with our flowy summer dresses.
Look3

1. H&M Straw Hat, $19.90; 2. H&M Off-the-shoulder Dress, $54.95; 3. Chan Luu Shell and Tassel Earrings via Net-a-Porter, US$64; 4. Zara Bucket Bag with Zips, $79.90; 5. Zara Monochrome Slides, $25.90

If for whatever reason you decide to wear out long-sleeved tops, just make sure they are loose fitting and made of materials like cotton. Cotton is generally more breathable than other fabrics such as polyester, and hence is superior for cooling the skin and drying up sweat faster. Alternatively, you can opt for mesh or open knit tops to have better air circulation. For a bohemian look, pair this tunic top with loose cut culottes and slip on some plain black sandals, along with a cute beaded tassel bag. Remember to bring out dem sunnies to block out those harsh sun rays!
Look5

1. Zara Short Tunic with Embroidery, $59.90; 2. Zalora Kyfers Eyewear, $23.90; 3. Helmut Lang Crepe Culottes via Net-a-porter, US$428; 4. Shashi Leela Clutch via Revolve, $119.95; 5. Zalora Slider Sandals, $19.90

For the boys, we know it’s hard to not reach out for your simple t-shirt and Bermuda shorts combo, but chinos are gonna be your best replacement. Not only are they extremely comfortable and lightweight enough, they are durable and long lasting so you can wear them everyday all you like. Also, Hawaiian and tropical-inspired shirts are gaining popularity once again in fashion shows, as seen on Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga. Tuck them in or out with your chino pants, add in a simple black belt, and round off the look with a classic pair of embossed brogues.
Look6

Topman Zebra Floral Print Smart Shirt, $79.90; 2. Zalora Clean Cut Twill Chinos, $19.90; 3. Zara Embossed Black Brogues, $89.90

If you’re looking for something casual, an oversized button-down striped shirt and a pair of ripped jeans is another outfit look to consider. Of course, you can switch it to your normal blue denim jeans when it’s hot out, and wear black when it’s night time. It’s totally up to you! Top off the look with a functional yet versatile messenger bag and a pair of classic white shoes with contrasting black soles to stand out from the rest.
Look7

1. Zara Striped Shirt, $59.90; 2. Topman Black Ripped Stretch Tapered Fit Jeans, $103; 3. Zalora Nylon Messenger Bag, $30; 4. ASOS Contrast Trainers, $53.88

The Nikon D7500 Will Meet All Your Photography & Videography Needs

By Adele Chan
“You don’t need to know photography. You just need to know photographers.” — For the last three years, I’ve lived by these words. When I started taking photos, my biggest challenge was getting the camera settings right for each lighting situation — and what I did every time was to call my photographer friends for advice. They did all the settings for me: aperture, ISO, and shutter speed, and they even positioned and configured the studio lights for my various shoots. This was when I was shooting with the Nikon Df — a fully manual full-frame DSLR with absolutely no automatic settings. It was a steep learning curve but very fulfilling — the experience with the Df fast-tracked me into the world of professional photography and I’ve since used it to shoot campaigns and celebrities for NYLON and my beauty book, Editing Beauty.
But the one thing the Df cannot do, is film video. And now that NYLON has gone fully digital, we get requests to shoot videos almost every day. So last month, I got my hands on the new Nikon D7500 to see if it could serve our video (and maybe even photography) needs. I’ve been using it for a month now, and if I’m going to be honest — I can’t live without it. It is by no means a replacement for my Nikon Df, but an excellent companion for it. Let me explain:

AT AN EVENT:
I need my camera settings to adjust quickly, according to the lighting situation, and to have continuous focus based on the guy jumping around and rapping on stage (I’m talking about G-Dragon and Pharrell here). The D7500 has a wonderful thing called Automatic mode… something that every camera has (except the Df), but is a luxury to me considering I’ve been shooting exclusively on the challenging Df for three years now (that was my choice). The D7500 is quick to auto adjust and I don’t have to worry about anything except to frame and shoot my subject. See below… the camera captures various lighting situations beautifully.

[G-Dragon with Kingmck, who took this photo off my Instagram and used it on his own without crediting me. Oh the woes of being a photographer…]

INSTANT SHARING:
Once of the best features of the D7500 is its ability to transfer photos immediately and automatically to a smartphone via the Nikon SnapBridge app. I limited each photo to 2MB and turned on “auto transfer”, so it runs in the background and anything I shoot with the camera is almost immediately reflected in the photo album in my phone. I always believe, if the technology is there, use it! I’ve been sharing photos with everyone within seconds of shooting, and everyone has been commenting how efficient I am (it’s not me… it’s the technology). I took these at a recent video shoot for Kat Von D Beauty and shared them immediately with the makeup artists and models.

TOUCH SCREEN!
Yes this camera has a touch screen that actually works like one! You can swipe, zoom in and out, and even touch to focus. When you’re in “live view mode” (viewing through the screen instead of the view finder), you can touch the screen to focus on that area and to fire off the shutter! It’s really like taking photos with a smartphone… which brings me to my next point.

TEACHING FRIENDS:
The main problem I have being the “photographer in the group”, is… I’m the one taking all the photos, hence I end up not being in any of them! With the D7500, I managed to teach friends, wait staff and strangers how to use the camera (Me: “See this screen? It’s touch screen. Just touch the face to focus and it’ll also take a picture.”) So for the first time in a long time, I have decent photos of myself that are not taken on a mobile phone!

[I even taught my 6-year-old how to use the camera! This is the picture she took of me and my two super pigs (Okja!!). And yes, all that shelving is Muji.]

SPECS:
For a camera at this price range, you can’t do much better than what the D7500 offers. It has a 20.9-megapixel CMOS sensor (it’s the same sensor as the much more expensive D500), a super wide ISO range of 100 to 51200, it can shoot at 8fps, it also shoots 4K movies, and for a DSLR, it’s considered light — the camera weighs approximately 720g with battery and memory card but without body cap, and approximately 640g for the camera body only.
Full tech specs found here.

BOTTOM LINE:
I’m not replacing my Nikon Df with this camera. The raw quality of photos I can produce with the Df will have me shooting portraits and fashion campaigns with it for years more (or until Nikon releases an updated version of the Df that looks just as good). But I will be taking the D7500 out with me a lot more now than the Df; to parties and events, to concerts and gatherings. Thanks to its immediate sharing capabilities, the built-in flash, and its ease of use (being touch screen and having auto mode for friends), the D7500 will definitely be replacing my smart phone’s camera as my everyday lens.
Videos filmed with the Nikon D7500 coming up soon on nylon.com.sg.

Why You Should Use a Facial Oil to Treat Acne-Prone Skin

Managing acne, particularly the cystic variety caused by hormones, can be quite an insufferable ordeal. Couple that with various other allergies and sensitivities, and you’ve got skin that’s a real pain to deal with. I’ve been there – in fact, I am still there, so you have my utmost sympathy. Curating an effective skincare routine is akin to conducting a science experiment, but after nearly a decade of playing chemist, I feel like I’ve assembled quite the reliable team of products to help my skin out.
In addition to using lightweight, fragrance-free formulas and salicylic acid treatments, facial oils have also made a remarkable difference in my turbulent complexion. Now, we tend to think of oils as the archenemy of clear skin, but what I’ve seen from my trials prove otherwise. Not all facial oils are created equal, though. A key factor that makes some oils work particularly well on breakout-prone skin is the ratio of linoleic acid to oleic acid in its chemical composition.
What the hell are linoleic acid and oleic acid?
Oleic acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid that’s also known as omega-9 fatty acid. Linoleic acid, on the other hand, is an unsaturated fatty acid often referred to as an omega-6 fatty acid. Stay with me. According to a medical study, patients who suffered from acne were found to have low levels of linoleic acid in the surface of their skin lipids.
What happens when skin is deficient in linoleic acid?
When our skin lacks linoleic acid, the sebum produced sort of coagulates and becomes tacky, and that sticky substance clogs up pores, transforming the area into an ideal breeding ground for breakouts. This is why we need to supplement our skin with oils that are rich in linoleic acid.
Of course, there’s no one-size-fits-all remedy when it comes to something as subjective as skin, so even if a facial oil blend is high in linoleic acid, doesn’t mean it’s going to perform miracles. Keep in mind that stress, diet, genetics (oh I KNOW it’s frustrating), and hormonal imbalance are a few major factors of acne too. Until you’ve narrowed down to the root cause of your breakouts, here are 5 facial oils that seek to soothe, strengthen, and restore balance to your complexion.

1 fresh seaberry oil
Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil

Grapeseed oil comes highly recommended for regulating your natural oil production, and Fresh’s Seaberry Face Oil has it. It’s mixed with several other lightweight oils such as sea buckthorn, cranberry seed, camellia seed, and sweet almond – all loaded with nourishing omegas and antioxidants to give your skin a quick surge of moisture (yes, oily skin can be dehydrated too). It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave an uncomfortable, tacky residue behind.
$84, available from Sephora

2 herbivore botanicals azulene
Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Oil-Balancing Azulene-Infused Facial Oil

This blend features a good amount of coconut oil, which is incredibly surprising since this ingredient is notorious for clogging up pores (it contains way more oleic acid than linoleic). The glowing reviews, however, beg to differ. Perhaps balancing it out with kukui nut oil and jojoba oil creates the perfect formula to suit our troublesome skin needs. It’s also tinted deep blue thanks to the Blue Tansy oil that carries Azulene, a potent anti-inflammatory and antibacterial component that helps reduce redness and clear up congested complexions.
$41 for 8ml, $112 for 50ml; available from Sephora

3 trilogy rosehip oil
Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

Ah, rosehip oil, my love… It’s certainly not the first time I’ve raved about this, and it definitely won’t be the last. Rosehip oil is a light, almost “dry” oil that’s able to balance out acne-prone complexions due to its higher linoleic to oleic acid ratio, and it’s also a NYLON team favourite (okay, so there’s really only two of us). Rich in both vitamin C and retinoic acid, a form of vitamin A, it doesn’t just repair your skin’s epidermal layer – it lightens unsightly acne scars too. An all-round winner in my book. If you’re looking for an affordable option that truly works, pick this one up, stat.
$42, available at Watsons and zalora.sg (pssst, it’s on offer now).

4 mv organics
MV Organic Skincare Rose Plus Booster

Under the influence of Emma Watson’s beauty routine, I forked out an exorbitant amount for this luxurious facial oil. If you have sensitive, acne-prone skin like myself, this is undoubtedly one of the best options out there. There’s rosehip oil and jojoba oil to soothe and strengthen the skin’s barrier, as well as an aromatic combination of rose and geranium essential oils. When I used this for the first time, the redness on my cheeks, around my nose, and from the mild breakout I had was visibly reduced, so imagine what happened with just a couple more uses.
£72.00, available on cultbeauty.co.uk

5 john masters
John Masters Organics Pomegranate Facial Nourishing Oil

Pomegranate seed oil doesn’t just contain a higher amount of linoleic acid, there’s also an omega 5 fatty acid present, known as punicic acid. This powerful antioxidant reduces skin inflammation, aids in skin repair, hydrates and prevents moisture loss. Even better, it’s combined with evening primrose oil – another linoleic acid-rich ingredient that helps balance out sebum production, thereby reducing breakouts. If you’re allergic to lavender oil though, make sure you steer clear of this one.
$49, available from budcosmetics.com

Fred Perry to Open New Store at Bugis Junction Inspired by Street Art

The streets. That’s the image conjured up for most people when they think of Fred Perry – gritty, nonconformist, yet ever-present. The company, long associated with subcultures like the rudeboys, skinheads, and punks, will open up its third store this August at Bugis Junction, with the space inspired by the brand’s maverick roots.

Instead of the clean, minimalist aesthetic that’s so popular these days, the exterior of Fred Perry’s new space at Bugis Junction will be emblazoned with street graffiti from top to bottom. An industrial-chic interior lined with concrete and reclaimed bricks will complete the whole set-up.
Digital renders of the new store’s interior:

But wait; it gets even better.
The new space will switch up its look from time to time with a series of creative takeovers led by underground local artists. First up will be a 12 metre-long mural by ZERO, founder of street art collective RSCLS. Following that, MR SABOTAGE (SBTG), a new-age DIY visual artist, will embellish the space with his punk rock-inspired artworks.

So there’s plenty of reason to head down to Fred Perry’s new Bugis Junction store, besides satisfying your appetite for designer labels of course. If you’d like to do just that too, the new store will be carrying both the Authentic Men’s and Women’s collection, as well as the new FP Logo series from the upcoming Autumn collection.
Fred Perry’s new shop will be located at #02-03 Bugis Junction, 200 Victoria Street.

We Tried The Eyeliner That Looks Like A Pizza Cutter

At the beginning of this year,  Instagram posts from backstage of New York Fashion Week brought to us a very intriguing product indeed: an upcoming liquid eyeliner that was made to resemble a pizza cutter.

A pizza cutter?!! 🍕 Okay, the M.A.C Rollerwheel isn’t going to slice through your eyelids, obviously, but what it is is a liquid eyeliner with a revolutionary applicator: a thin round wheel that you use by rolling the edge over the eyes. This means that the eyeliner goes on ultra-thin, and yes, you’re essentially applying it with a hard plastic edge.
mac-rollerwheel
The M.A.C Rollerwheel finally landed on our desks last week, and of course, all of the eyeliner-wearing people in the NYLON team jumped at the chance to give it a try. It comes in 4 shades: matte black, shiny black, brown, and electric blue.

mac-roller-wheel-1

A quick try of the roller wheel applicator showed that indeed, it was able to draw extremely thin lines. But obviously, how it feels on the back of the hand can’t be compared to how it performs on the eyes. So, will roller wheels be the next big thing in eyeliner, or should they just be kept for cutting pizza? Here are our reviews.

Adele Chan, Editor-in-Chief
WHAT IS THIS?
I think this is going to be one of the most polarising beauty products of the year. M.A.C’s new Rollerwheel liquid eyeliner is exactly what its name implies — it’s a liquid eyeliner with a roller wheel for a tip. To line eyes, you roll the wheel along your eyelid, and it will supposedly paint on a smooth, intense, liquid line. It’s meant to be fast and easy to use, and there’s already a lot of hype about it online.
I TRIED IT AND…
I injured myself. I rolled the wheel too close to my eyeball and yup…I scratched the surface of it. It was sharp, and it was painful. The accident made me tear for the next five minutes, and I eventually had to wipe off and redo my entire eye makeup for the day. I know I should have been more careful, but the roller wheel was hard to control; it had a mind of its own and rolled a path straight into my eyeball. There’s no way in hell I’m going to try this product again. When I returned to my brush pen eyeliner, the smooth, soft tip felt like heaven. HEAVEN!
ON YOUTUBE VIDEOS:
See here: This vlogger keeps saying how fast and easy it is to use this roller eyeliner, but watch how she applies the product, and look carefully at the lines she has drawn… they don’t look smooth at all, and I can actually see her struggling to control the tip to draw a straight line. She ends her review by saying that if you’re not really good at applying liquid liner, this is a good way to get started. WRONG! This is a terrible way to get started. A brush pen with a tip that is not too soft and not too hard is the best way to get started. I currently think this one from Chanel is the best in the market right now.
RATING: 1 out of 5 wheels.

Tami Lai, Associate Editor
LIQUID EYELINER REALLY IS MY THING:
I’d like to think I’m pretty good at doing my eyeliner. After all, it’s been a daily routine for a few years now, so at this point, I can line my eyes with a variety of liner types: pen, brush, crayon, thick, thin… all without taking too long.
HOW IT FARED:
This M.A.C Rollerwheel, however, completely delayed my makeup routine. Somehow, I just was unable to get the rollerwheel to draw smooth curves along my upper lashlines – all I got were crooked, patchy lines, no matter how steady my hands were. When I tried to draw in the flicks, it became even harder to control, and I ended up drawing a much larger wing than I originally intended. After about 15 minutes of frustrating removal and reapplication, I gave up, and just grabbed my regular eyeliner to get the job done, so I could finally leave the house.
IS IT BEGINNER-SAFE?
Maybe I don’t have the skills of the vloggers and makeup artists who have been putting up videos of themselves very effortlessly using the Rollerwheel Liner, but a liquid liner should never require the skills of a pro to use properly. And if someone like me, who lines with liquid liner pretty much every day, can’t get it right, then eyeliner beginners shouldn’t even go near this product.
RATING: 2 out of 5 wheels.

Amelia Tan, Associate Editor
EXPECTATION:
To be honest, liquid eyeliners that we review mostly look the same, with a pen or brush tip in some slim black packaging, but the idea of the “pizza wheel-style” of the M.A.C Rollerwheel intrigued me; is this little tool boldly going where no others have gone before, is this the new future of beauty innovation? Yeah, I tend to be optimistic about these things. On paper, this sounds like a godsend — we’re supposed to get a smooth line with fuss-free and quick application. When I tried it out on the back of my hand, I was impressed at the incredibly thin line it produced, which became smudge-proof in no time. Ooh, fingers crossed!
REALITY:
Okay, so… I’ll try to be fair here, but I have to say, things did not go well. At all. I was genuinely excited while holding the product in my hand, but on my first roll, I went way past where I usually draw my line without meaning to. It was also rather difficult to navigate the curvature of my eyelid too, since the wheel favours straight lines. The good thing though is that a wing tip was slightly easier to achieve (create a triangle at the edge of your eye), and it does create a dark, intense black.
Still, I cleaned off the edges and started again, but because I took so long, the liquid had already dried on my wheel and went on patchy and flaky. Sigh, that’s another redo… I then scrambled for an instruction manual of some sort, then thought, hey, why does an eyeliner need to come with instructions? That’s a clear sign the product isn’t as intuitive as beauty bloggers have lauded it to be. I’m supposed to feel confident, not doubt my mastery of makeup!
Of course I refused to be belittled by it, so I then used it over the next three days. The verdict? While I got used to the motion (apparently, rocking it back and forth makes it more controlled), I felt constantly worried about how it will turn out, and no way should your daily eyeliner be a scary experience. Plus, I realised it coats my lashes and makes filling small in-between spaces more tedious than it should be.
SHOULD YOU GET IT?
It’s truly innovative — we’ve never heard anything quite like this before. And if you’re confident of creating defined lines, along with the graphic look, go ahead. For beginners and amateurs though, I’d say, go to a M.A.C store and try it for yourself before investing in this one.
RATING: 2 out of 5 wheels.

Amazon to Launch its Services in Singapore this Week

After months of speculation, Amazon is finally going to launch its services in Singapore, according to a report by TechCrunch.
The tech site, which cited a source with close knowledge of the e-commerce giant’s expansion plans, said that the move could happen as soon as this week, with the launch marking Amazon’s arrival in the Southeast Asian market.
As of now, an official statement has yet to be released by Amazon. Although there have been more than a few teasers posted by popular Instagram users in Singapore showcasing the company’s trademark blue tick and the hashtag #dontsaybojio on a “delivery package” – a dead giveaway if there was any.
Check out the posts below:

Once Amazon is available in Singapore, users can look forward to using services like Amazon Prime; a paid Netflix-like subscription program, as well as Amazon Prime Now fast delivery and the usual e-commerce services.
The imminent launch is also a timely one for the US-based company. Chinese rival Alibaba has been busy ramping up its presence in the region after buying a majority stake in Lazada, which also recently acquired Singapore-based grocery company Redmart.
Whether Jack Ma’s Alibaba funds and operational experience is enough for Lazada to withstand the Amazon onslaught; that remains to be seen. But there’s no denying that there’s plenty of potential for e-commerce growth in the Southeast Asian region.
According to a frequently cited study by Google and Singapore-based fund Temasek Holdings, the e-commerce economy in Southeast Asia is expected to hit $200 billion by 2025, so there’s definitely plenty of pie up for grabs.
The real question is: who will dominate that pie? Well, we guess the only way to find out is when Amazon launches its services proper in Singapore. Stick with us for more updates.

This New Sponge Applicator Mimics the Way Your Fingers Apply Makeup

With a slew of innovative makeup blending tools on the market, a newcomer really has to stand out to garner everyone’s attention. At this point, we’ve seen makeup sponges of every kind, but there’s also a set of tools that may feel primitive to us, but they’re pretty darn effective at blending out our foundation and concealer seamlessly. Yup, we’re talking about our fingertips.
Don’t believe us? Even makeup legends Pat McGrath, Charlotte Tilbury and Tom Pecheux swear by their own skilled hands to create a natural, even finish on the skin. So with that in mind, Smashbox Cosmetics made a new applicator that’s shaking up the blending tool game yet again. The brand combined the hygienic, waste-less feature of a silicone makeup sponge with a grooved texture that’s similar to that of a fingerprint.

Dubbed “The Photo Filter: Gel Cushion Applicator”, this gel-like cushion sponge is reportedly equipped with a flexible nature and a diamond shape that contours to reach every plateau of your face. From our first look at the applicator, it seems like a pretty arbitrary way of accomplishing what you could do with the hands you were born with or with any other makeup sponge, so this might be yet another feeble attempt to reinvent the wheel.
Similar to every silicone makeup applicator out there, it’ll probably give you a fairly decent finish without wasting a drop of foundation – and it sure beats using your dirty fingers, too. If you’d like to try it out yourself, you can purchase one from the brand’s website.

A Case For Using The Humble Brow Pencil

How far brow makeup has come in the past couple of years. Filling in your arches is now no longer the straightforward process of just putting a pencil to them; the insane amount of variety we now enjoy when it comes to makeup means that there’s also the option of using powders, liquids and waxes to get your brows looking, as they like to say, “on fleek”.

Yet, with options, brows don’t seem to have gotten any easier to master. In fact, with more ways to draw them in, there’s actually more room for mistakes, especially with all the fancy new formulas that are difficult for a relative amateur to master. Those waxes all your favourite beauty YouTubers like to use? In an untrained hand, they could go very, very wrong indeed.
So, let us make the case for the humblest of brow tools: the brow pencil. Sure, it may not be as exciting as a fancy brow palette, but it has the one trait that might be the most important one of all: it’s easy to use.
Whether you’re an absolute brow newbie or someone who has her brow routine down pat, Revlon’s ColorStay Brow Pencil is a solid option, to perform the straightforward task of filling, defining and sculpting your arches.
revlon-colorstay-brow-pencil
In 4 shades: Blonde, Auburn, Soft Brown and Soft Black.

As you can see, it has two very important traits we need in our brow pencils: one, an angled tip that can draw in the precise lines and doesn’t require sharpening, and two, a spoolie brush on the other end to tame brow hairs, and spread the colour evenly.

revlon brow steps
With Revlon’s ColorStay Brow Pencil, your brow routine is kept straightforward and mistake-proof – as it should be.

The beauty of a brow pencil really is in how the formula will never go onto your skin too strongly, and leave you in a Crayon Shin-chan kind of situation. And with the spoolie, blending out the colour properly is just a matter of a few quick strokes.
And more importantly, this formula won’t melt off. It’s waterproof and longwearing, promising to stay on for 24 hours – because to quote a member of the NYLON team: Heaven forbid one be left browless.

Travel Guide: 7 Lesser-Known Islands to Check Out in Thailand

Food, shopping, nature – Thailand has it all.
But sadly, it’s no longer the paradise it once was 30 years ago. The country’s reputation as a popular holiday destination has seen the arrival of numerous Western brands, and that’s not forgetting the money-sucking tourist traps hidden everywhere.
Thankfully, not all is lost. Thailand is still a place of unimaginable beauty, and believe it or not, there are plenty of untouched islands that aren’t Phuket, Krabi, or Koh Phangan for you to visit. Here are 7 of the best:
Koh Phayam

With its crystal clear waters and powdery white sand, visiting Koh Phayam is like taking a step back through time. The island has a population of approximately 500 people, and is probably what Koh Samui or Koh Phangan looked like before the all bars and restaurants started sprouting up. Do visit here quickly though as word is spreading fast about the island’s beauty.
Koh Tarutao

Remember Survivor? Koh Tarutao is where the Thailand edition of the reality TV show was filmed. But despite its commercial past, the island is still a relatively undisturbed paradise, with hardly a soul stepping foot on its coastal shores or venturing inside one of its many caves. That said; if you’re looking for peace and quiet, this place is the spot for you.
Koh Kradan

Known for its gorgeous two-kilometre long beach and towering limestone outcrops, Koh Kradan is the place to visit if you’re a true blue nature enthusiast. The coral-lined waters are teeming with all sorts of colourful marine life, while you can kayak around the island in just three hours. Oh, and here’s a fun fact: you can even get married underwater here.
Similan Islands

Despite a name that would sound pretty crass if you’re thinking in terms of Hokkien (no explanation needed), the Similan Islands are a spectacular set of islets located off the coast of southern Thailand, forming the Similan National Park – meaning it’s well-protected by the government. Over here, you can look forward to hopping between a total of nine islands and exploring the area’s unique rock formations.
Koh Jum

Don’t have a care in the world for parties or bar hopping? Then Koh Jum should be right up your alley. The island, which actually has two names – the flat southern part called Koh Jum and the mountainous northern part called Koh Phu, is the perfect destination for tourists looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. For gorgeous views, climb Mount Phu; a rainforest-clad mountain that’s 422metres high.

Even though there’s been an increase of tourism at Koh Kood in recent years since the introduction of a high-speed ferry, it’s remained as one of the most idyllic and pristine spots in Thailand. Of course, the unsullied beach and waters make it a great spot for divers and snorkelers, but there’s also a few bars to head to if the peace and quiet gets a little too much.

Situated near the border with Myanmar, Koh Phra Thong is home to the world’s largest species of sea turtle, the 700kg leatherback. If you’re thinking of heading here, visit during November to January. If you’re lucky, you might just catch these migratory creatures laying their eggs in vast pockets of sand. Animal lovers may also want to check out the oriental hornbills and sambar deer residing here.

A Comprehensive Roundup Of Warm Eyeshadow Palettes

The warm eyeshadow trend had been bubbling for some time now, but it’s clear that it was this month’s launch of the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette that single-handedly brought this look to the forefront; suddenly, warm tones are all everyone wants to wear on their eyes.
As we’ve established, it’s a tricky look to nail (hence our handy guide here), but this doesn’t mean our rediscovered love for warm eyeshadow palettes is in any way diminished. Thanks to the Naked Heat, all the new eye colours we’ve been picking up recently all belong to the warmer side of the spectrum. Do we need so many? Maybe not, but since when was buying makeup a logical process? Ahead, more palette options to fan the flames. 🔥🔥🔥

NYX Professional Makeup Perfect Filter Shadow Palette in Rustic Antique
$32, available at NYX Professional Makeup stores and Sephora.

nyx perfect filter

Like the Naked Heat, this NYX Professional Makeup palette holds shades in shimmer, metallic and matte finishes. Other than that, the warm shades are more orangey, with a metallic yellow and brown to mix things up a bit.

Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Clay Palette
$72, available at Sephora.

Tarte-Tartelette-2-In-Bloom-Clay-Palette-(3)

If you find it hard to stray too far from the familiar neutrals, this Tarte palette is a good middle ground. Most of it is made up of the “safer” shades like taupe, nudes and bronzes, with a few warmer hues like a peach, chestnut brown and aubergine (Sweetheart, Rebel and Leader) to slowly introduce into your eyeshadow routine.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
US$42, available at anastasiabeverlyhills.com.
anastasia-beverly-hills-modern-renaissance

This ABH palette has often been compared to the Naked Heat. We’ve tried both, and UD’s is more rooted in the orange/terracotta family, while ABH’s is more about a greater variety across orangey/berry tones; also, 11 out of the 14 shades are matte. There are some very close shades in both palettes though, such as UD’s Low Blow for ABH’s Burnt Orange, and UD’s Cayenne and ABH’s Realgar.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Scandalust
$69, available at Sephora from August.
marc-jacobs-beauty-eye-conic-palette-scandalust

It’s essential a palette of warm neutrals, with a single pop of red. While there are only seven shades, the variety is in the types of finishes: matte, metallic lamé, satin and silk. Marc Jacobs’ palettes tend to veer more towards glamorous, so the bold metallic finishes and inclusion of darker hues come as no surprise.

M.A.C Eyeshadow x 15 in Warm Neutral
$145, available at M.A.C stores and counters.
mac-warm-neutrals

Once again, mostly a neutrals palette filled with hues like champagne, peach, and golds. That doesn’t mean it isn’t a gorgeous palette though, because it is, and it’s one of our favourites. Just dip your brush into the darker shades like Gingersnap, a deep rosy pink, Dark Brew, a deep chocolate with pink pearl, and Amber Lights, a peachy brown with shimmer, to warm up the look.

Zoeva Caramel Melange Palette
$39, available at Sephora.

zoeva-caramel-melange

This one is such an underrated find. Zoeva eyeshadows have great colour payoff, flattering shades, and all at a very reasonable price indeed. So far, our favourite is this Caramel Melange palette, which take inspiration from desserts like butterscotch, crème brulée and toffee. Shades you definitely have to try: Alchemy, Start Soft and just a touch of Aftertaste.

Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Palette in Ablaze
$52, available at Sephora ION.
Smashbox-Cover-Shot-Eye-Palette-Ablaze

“Hot, desert-inspired shades” translate into super saturated tones in this compact palette, which starts from a light peach base shade, and goes all the way into a deep brown with warm undertones. The shades also cover shimmery to matte finishes, so all in all, a very versatile palette.

ColourPop Heavy Hitter Pressed Powder Shadow Palette
US$12, available on colourpop.com.
colourpop-heavy-hitter

If you don’t like having too many options, this 4-pan ColourPop palette keeps it as simple as can be. A matte warm ivory as base, a metallic warm champagne for highlight, and for warmth, accents of two types of matte terracotta, one with gold flecks, and the other in a deeper brown hue.

Morphe 35O – 35 Colour Nature Glow Eyeshadow Palette
US$22.99, available at morphebrushes.com.
morphe-35-nature-glow

And on the other end of the spectrum, if you like having as many options as possible – this Morphe palette has a whopping 35 colours to choose from. They’re not all warm ones though; there are quite a few cooler ones like grey-toned browns and taupes, but also plenty of sunset-inspired ones to nail that sunset eye.

Kylie Cosmetics The Burgundy Palette
US$42, available on kyliecosmetics.com.

kylie-cosmetics-burgundy-palette

But of course, we had to include the Kyshadows in this list, since Kylie has been so on the ball with jumping on just about every recent eyeshadow trend with her products. This selection of 9 shades really is quite gorgeous, especially with the essentials like a matte reddish-orange, metallic warm bronze, and a matte dirty brick.

Nasi Lemak Burger Sold Out Island-wide at McDonald’s

It’s been less than two weeks since the “Nasi Lemak” burger was launched by McDonald’s on 13 July, but guess what? The dish is now completely sold out island-wide, along with other menu items like the Chendol McFlurry and Bandung McFizz.

aRY23

We won’t be seeing this anytime soon

The fast food chain announced via a press release today (25 July 2017) thanking Singaporeans for their “overwhelming support” and that the locally inspired menu “far exceeded their wildest imagination.”
“We are both heartened and honoured to receive so many positive reviews from customers and food critics who have truly enjoyed our latest creations. And we will certainly consider suggestions to bring it back sometime in the future,” said Agatha Yap, Senior Director of Marketing, Menu and Digital Innovation, McDonald’s Singapore.
The release also included a preview of the next menu item that customers can expect – a “Made for Singapore” chicken burger called the EggCellent McSpicy. The new creation features a regular McSpicy chicken patty tucked under the same golden fried egg that was used in the Nasi Lemak burger.

Also, the Vanilla Cone will come in a special “camouflage” sleeve as part of Singapore’s 50 years of National Service (NS50). Past and present NS men will receive a free apple pie or hot fudge sundae with every Extra Value Meal purchased after breakfast hours from 4 to 10 August. Eligible customers must present their SAFRA Card, 11B or Pink IC for redemption.

Lastly, the Vanilla Cone will be going at a special price of 50-cents from 4 to 10 August. So, don’t be upset if you can’t get your Nasi Lemak burger fix anymore. There’s still plenty of reason for you to head to the nearest McDonald’s!

Here Are More Mermaid-inspired Makeup Collections To Stock Up On

Over here at NYLON, news of any upcoming beauty drops and releases is sufficient to excite the inner beauty geeks in us. But if there’s one thing that will never fail to always intrigue and fascinate us, it will have to be mermaid-themed collections. No matter how many times we’ve seen brands come up with mermaid-esque products, we just can’t seem to get enough of them. So when not one, but two different beauty brands decided to launch mermaid-inspired beauty collections at the same time, you bet we were freaking out all right!
First up, Bitter Lace Beauty’s latest mermaid creation – the Mermaid Dreams collection. This collection right here, mer-friends, is every mermaid-wannabe’s dream come true. In this range, the palettes and shades are sold separately so you can have full control of what goes into your palette.

Screen Shot 2017-07-25 at 4.47.59 pm

The magnetic Mermaid Dreams Palette is a treasure trove that can store up to 10 different highlighting gems of your choice. It is covered in a holographic scale-like material and features a mirror inside that is in the shape of a mermaid’s silhouette. But if you’re looking for something 10 times smaller, you can also opt for their Shellfish Compact which has room for only one pan, so you’d better choose your treasure wisely for this one. The Shellfish Compact only costs US$8, but we think the Mermaid Dreams Palette, which sells for US$35, will be so much more worth the money.
Screen Shot 2017-07-25 at 4.50.02 pm

As for what goes into your palette, you can customise it personally by choosing from 33 different highlighting shades, with 11 sea-inspired hues such as “Shell Me About It”, “Mermaid Tears”, “Buried Treasure”, and “Coral Cove”. Single shades and marbled ones are priced at US$18 and US$20 respectively, while some special designs will cost you US$22.
Screen Shot 2017-07-25 at 4.46.53 pm

But of course you can go all out and get their Mermaid Dreams Bundle – that is if you’re willing to spend US$214. The set includes 11 of the mer-mazing multi-purpose shades, the Shellfish Compact, and the Mermaid Dreams Palette to house all your new-found treasures.
Up next, we have SauceBox Cosmetics’ Mermaid Brushes. The brand behind The Mermaid Life Palette and the Mermaid Tail Contour Brushes is back once again with another underwater-themed makeup brush set. Details of the collection are still scarce but one thing’s for sure – these brushes look downright gorgeous. As compared to their bulky Mermaid Tail Brushes, these are more streamlined, coming in with a black handle and reflective copper-gold seashell back. We’re pretty sure these brushes are Ariel-approved and are floating around somewhere on her vanity table, but for now, all we can do is to constantly check back on SauceBox’s Instagram account for further updates.

10 Cooling Beauty Products to Keep You Feeling and Looking Fresh All Day

Is it just us, or is the weather punishing Singapore by kicking its temperatures up a few notches? If a languid 2-minute stroll is enough to work up a sweat, one can only imagine what would happen when we’re left under the sun’s relentless glare for more than a few minutes.

An accurate representation, won’t you agree? Yup, we could all use an ice-cold beauty treat to put out that fire right about now. Thanks to a new wave of products that chill us out upon application, it’s easier to hit that proverbial refresh button now more than ever. Here, we’ve culled 10 of the, well, coolest cooling products to keep us from melting into a pool of sweat.

1 vichy (1)

Vichy Minéral 89 Skin Fortifying Daily Booster

It may not contain peppermint or menthol to give us that tingling sensation, but Vichy’s Minéral 89 serves as a lightweight, fast-absorbing facial moisturiser that feels equally refreshing on the skin and is particularly recommended for those with sensitive complexions. Loaded with hyaluronic acid to boost hydration levels, it absorbs into the skin quickly without leaving any trace of residue.

$62, available from Watsons and Guardian stores.

2 boscia
Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil

At the end of an uncomfortable, sweltering day, you’ll definitely look forward to removing your makeup with this cleansing oil. Boscia’s MakeUp-BreakUp features a blend of natural oils such a rosehip, avocado, and olive fruit to detoxify and shrink the appearance of visible pores, lifting away daily grime as well as waterproof makeup. It’s also formulated with a touch of menthol that feels oh-so good as you massage it into the skin.
$47, available from Sephora.

3 urban decay
Urban Decay Chill Cooling and Hydrating Makeup Setting Spray

Had another makeup meltdown in the blazing heat? Reach for this cooling and hydrating setting spray to shield your makeup and prevent mess-ups. Urban Decay’s offering uses an advanced technology that acts as a cooling barrier for your makeup to keep it dewy-looking for up to 12 hours.
$48, available from Urban Decay stores and Sephora.

4 dr bronners (1)
Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Pure Castile Soap

Made with saponified vegetable oils, the Peppermint version of this do-all is a bathroom staple for both designers in the NYLON team and it’s also the most popular fragrance in the lineup. The invigorating peppermint essential oil leaves a tingly sensation to kickstart your dreary morning and soothe your senses at the end of a tiring day. Just ignore the cult-ish ramblings printed around the bottle.
$11.90 for 237ml, $30.80 for 946ml; available from Bud Cosmetics stores and budcosmetics.com.

5 caolion
Caolion Premium Original Pore Pack

If your complexion’s a little congested, it needs a clay-based mask like Caolion’s to draw out impurities, sop up excess oils and tighten gaping pores. It’s made with glacial clay to tackle that onslaught of greasy buildup, and there’s added menthol to provide a cooling effect too. You’ll be tempted to leave this on forever, but please remember to rinse it off after 10 minutes to prevent epidermal dehydration.
$30, available from Sephora.

6 the body shop (1)
The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Cleansing Hair Scrub

Now, we’ve already given you a lowdown on the upsides of using a hair scrub. The Body Shop’s new Fuji Green Tea Hair Scrub is one that doubles up as a shampoo, using salt crystals, mint, and menthol to get your blood flow going and whisk away daily grime with its rich lather. It works perfectly on scalps that have accumulated a buildup of waxy residue from various styling products, so swap out your shampoo for this hair scrub every once in while.
$29, available at The Body Shop stores.

7 herbivore botanicals
Herbivore Botanicals After Sun Skin Soothing Aloe Mist

If you turn as red as a lobster each time your SPF loses a battle to the sun (actually, you may wanna trade it in for a more effective lightweight sunscreen), drench yourself in a soothing blend of aloe vera, cooling mint, and anti-inflammatory lavender. This skin saviour by Herbivore Botanicals will calm that sunburn right away, reducing redness and keeping your senses chill with its herbaceous, floral aroma.
$19 for 60ml, $32 for 240ml; available from Sephora.

8 tarte
Tarte LipSurgence Matte Lip Tint

One of Tarte’s bestsellers, the LipSurgence Matte Lip Tint combines the pigmented finish of a lipstick with the creamy texture of a balm. It nourishes and smooths the lips with carnauba wax and coconut extract, while it deposits a natural-looking shade with a soft matte finish. Basically, it’s how I hoped Glossier’s Generation G would turn out. Anywho, this automatic crayon-like lip product is also infused with peppermint oil that leaves a nice tingle on your lips while it freshens your breath (it does!).
$36, available from Sephora.

9 the body shop (1)
The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Cooling Foot Rescue

Our feet often bear the brunt of a long day (as well as our increasing body weight), so a peppermint-infused foot cream is just what they need to feel soothed and refreshed. This one by The Body Shop contains community trade peppermint essence from Norfolk, England to revive our tired, aching feet, while restoring some much-needed moisture to our hard heels and dry patches. Just… maybe don’t whip this jar out in the middle of work and start massaging your feet in front of your colleagues.
$24.90, available from The Body Shop stores.

10 tsubaki (1)
Tsubaki Cool Head Spa Set

We once equated the cooling effect of this haircare duo to the feeling of dunking our heads in an ice-cold basin of water, except that breezy sensation will last for hours on end, long after you’ve rinsed your hair. The pair will help clear the scalp of sebum and dirt while it softens and repairs the hair. Not to mention, it even contains an ingredient that blocks out damaging UV rays too, acting as a sunscreen for your tresses. Pretty impressive for a drugstore purchase.
$29.90 for a set, available exclusively at Guardian.

It's Time We Gave This Classic Longchamp Bag A Cute Revamp

Now, this particular Longchamp bag should be very familiar to you — the Le Pliage is an easy-to-carry tote that can surprisingly hold plenty of your daily essentials and still look sleek, a light, foldaway design in an array of colours that’s inspired by origami, and probably the first branded bag you own too. You might have even sprung for the upgraded version: the Le Pliage Cuir that’s made of soft and supple metis leather, a combination of the qualities of lambskin and goatskin, for a sophisticated and enduring look. Is it basic? Well, uh, kinda… But wait till you see its latest iteration — and we don’t mean just new fancy colour combinations.

PLIAGE-CUIR-BADGE-GIRL-ET-NAVY-copie_web

Customisation has certainly been a big trend for fashion brands in the past few years, and Longchamp is no stranger to this; in fact, you can say that they’re one of the first brands to have pioneered the trend, inviting customers to create their own Le Pliage tote online, and offering us to pick from various sizes, handles, colour combinations and hardware, or have our initials embossed or embroidered. This time though, you can make the ubiquitous bag even more unique, with these limited edition badges clipped to your tote.
badges

The limited edition Le Pliage Badges bag is a playful spin on the old classic, and with each design (there are four colours to choose from), you get to choose three badges to accessorise with. From hearts and stars, to kittens, and even symbols that remind us of the brand’s Parisian heritage, there are 14 original badges to choose from, so the trouble’s really narrowing it down to your three favourites. Each roomy bag, along with the badges, goes for $1,100 — still alright for owning a part of Longchamp, especially one you can truly call your own.
