But we might wave tradition goodbye for just this year, as Gardens By The Bay is inviting our families to celebrate lantern festival with them as the Gardens promises to come aglow every evening with a dazzling display of elaborately handcrafted lantern sets. We’re definitely looking forward to the nightly performances, cultural activities, and the myriad of food booths where we’ll find delectable asian treats to nibble on.

Cute Ways To Accessorise Your IPhone

We’re huge fans when it comes to customising our iPhones. Quirky cases, bedazzled earphones, stickers; you name it. We try our best to show,as evidently as possible, that the iPhone belongs to US. We spend so much of our time swiping away at these babies, it’s no wonder that we feel so attached to the point where we’re more than willing to spend hundreds of dollars dolling our phones up (please tell us we’re not crazy). And if you’re tired of that boring chunky “rugged” case that’s been guarding your iPhone from cracks and knocks, we’ll take you through some of our favourite tech accessories that’ll deck your phones out to perfection. And take it from us; if your iPhone is feeling pretty, you’ll feel prettier (okay, we’re definitely not crazy).

Who Needs Boxes When You’ve Got These Bunnies?

Rabbit Storage Boxes

In what is quite possibly the most adorable invention to come out of Japan, you can now store your everyday household items in these adorable little bunnies (or at the very least, multiply the amount of cuteness in your life).

Rabbit Box

Designed by Japanese company YOU+MORE by Felissimo, these petite storage boxes incorporate a tie function that’s been used in traditional Japanese furoshiki textile art for years. This style of wrapping goods dates back to the middle of the Nara period, and was used for bundling clothes at public baths, before being used by merchants to transport goods. So you know these things are pretty legit.
Rabbit Boxes

Each bunny is fairly sizeable, measuring 57 by 44 centimeters, and you can fit most household items inside, from soap to salt. All you’ve got to do is take the pointed edges of the fabric, and fold it together to form the bunny ears. Voila, your bunny is all set and ready as your personal storage box!
Tying Rabbit Boxes

Rabbit Box Measurements

Unfortunately, YOU+MORE doesn’t do overseas shipping, so you probably got to get a Japanese friend to help you out here. But judging from how sweet these cuties look, it’s got to be a worthwhile investment, no?
One bunny bag retails at $35. Click here to check out the online store and the full range of bunnies.

The Lomo’Instant Automat is Picture Perfect Magic

So many beautiful moments, so little time to snap them. There’s hardly anything worse in the world knowing that your chance to capture something slipped right through your fingers – maybe you couldn’t get your settings right in time, or perhaps you were too slow to rise to the occasion.
Nevertheless, it’s a sucky feeling to have, and one that Lomography has decided to rectify with their latest camera: the Lomo’Instant Automat – the ultimate automatic instant camera that is perfect for fuss-free shooting, whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned pro.
Lomo'Instant Automat Colours

Basically, what the camera does is automatically adjust its aperture, shutter speed and flash output for you, meaning that all you’ve got to do is frame your shot properly and capture the moment. There are also plenty of cool features that make this beautiful camera a joy to use – there are attachable close-up, wind-angle, and fish-eye lenses, as well as pretty colour gels to add vibrancy to your shots.
Lomo'Instant Automat Pictures

That said, the Lomo’Instant Automat doesn’t just take great pictures, it’s a real looker too. Its vintage-looking frame alone will appeal to most people aesthetically, while there a total of four colour combinations to choose from – you’ve got minimalist white, red leather, solid black, and a special design that is exclusive to Kickstarter backers only!
Overall, it looks like the Lomo’Instant Automat could very well be the next instant hit (pardon the pun). It’s gloriously easy to use, and we like the fact that Lomography put the project out on Kickstarter to get the photography community excited. As far as instant cameras go, this looks like the real deal.
The Kickstarter retail price of the Lomo’Instant Automat will be $152-$203. The launch price will be $203-$271. Visit their Kickstarter Page to fund the project. Visit Lomography’s official website at shop.lomography.com/en/.

Your Favourite Nike Roshe Is Getting An Upgrade

Our trusty Roshe sneakers never ever let us down, even on the most hectic days when we’re always on our feet. And that’s why we’re thrilled to hear that Nike will be releasing a new and improved version of the beloved Roshe – Nike Roshe Flyknit Two and Nike Roshe Two. Ah, just when we thought we were way past the mindset of “gotta catch them all” – sneaker style. Nike sure knows how to reel us back in into the hype of chasing after these minimalistic lifestyle kicks.

You wouldn’t want to underestimate the potential of these stylish upgraded versions of your favourite classics. After all, tons of research has been invested to ensure that we’ve got the most comfortable experience donning these dynamic successors to the much-crazed about Roshe Run. We’ve been promised a combination of stability, support and cushioning for our soles, and a minimal upper which will contour and form to our foot for maximum flexibility and comfort.
The Roshe Two Flyknit features rows of knit along the upper which will shift colours with your every movement. But if the price of these $209 sneakers is a little too steep for you, you can consider the Roshe 2, which is a cheaper option at $165. The colourways of the Roshe Two are to die for; starring Midnight Navy, Atomic Pink, a deep Yeezy-like camo green, and more. You’ll want to grab a pair as soon as these drop in stores so that you’ll be able to join the horde of Instagrammers snapping these as their go-to kicks everywhere.

Why 3.1 Phillip Lim's Newest Bag Launch Is On Top Of Our Wish List This Season

Our best investments made thus far have evidently been handbags. Timeless, functional and always there to add an à la mode cherry on top of our everyday outfits. You can trust that we were on the edge of our seats for the longest time, waiting for the launch of 3.1 Philip Lim’s Fall 2016 accessories. And alas, the ‘ALIX’ Saddle Crossbody bag is finally out.

AF16-A041ACT-NUDE-BLACK_4 AF16-A041NPP-BRICK_4 AF16-A041NPP-NAVY_4

A round-edged, classic silhouette, accented by the brand’s iconic paperclip fastener is here to strum more than a few heartstrings this season. Perk up your ears, fans of sleek and minimal dressing: this is the bag of the season that you need. Decked out in fall’s hottest hues – camel and rusty red – (we even spotted a black crocodile leather finish!), you may have to wrestle a little in order to land your hands on one of these seasonal must-haves.

See The Gorgeous Colours In The Victoria Beckham x Estée Lauder Makeup Collection

“Sweaty-sexy skin. Fiercely lined eyes. Nude lips. Wet finishes, liquid metals, foil shine. Sexy, cool with a bit of rawness and edge.” Basically, a look we can get behind anytime, and also the description of what you’ll be able to achieve with the very exciting Victoria Beckham x Estée Lauder Makeup Collection coming up next month.
VB already gave us a taste of her brand of beauty with her collaboration with Nails Inc last year, but that was really a mere taste since it only included two nail colours; but now, we finally get to fully channel her minimal and often-copied beauty look for ourselves with the luxurious products in this collection.

vb el 1
vb el 2
vb el 3
vb el 4
The four groups of products here have been categorised according to the different city-themed looks they’re supposed to help achieve: from top, London, which unsurprisingly is the closest to what VB herself always sports, with smoky, glittery eyes paired with a nude lip and lashings of mascara; New York City, which calls for a eye palette that marries both neutrals and brights, and illuminated skin; Paris, with an unexpected red lip and green lids; and Los Angeles, which is of course all about the summery bronzed skin.
We’re immediately drawn to the Highlighter in Modern Mercury (featured in the LA look), which is actually a relaunch of a previously limited edition Estée Lauder highlighter, since it’s a favourite of VB’s. Also, the Eye Kajal Duo in Black Saffron/Vanille, a double-ended eye pencil that features a classic black to be smudged around the eyes, and an eye-opening nude for the waterlines and inner corners of the eyes. And those eye colours, though – they’ll come in three different textures, one a gel-cream in black for seriously smokey eyes, two high-shine colours in a metallic finish, and the very exciting liquid Eye Foils that dry into a super-shiny vinyl finish.
The entire collection features textured black packaging accented with gold, really an accurate unity of both brands’ aesthetics. If you want to jump right in and treat yourself, go straight for the Daylight Edition, a whopping boxed set featuring eight handpicked signature items from the collection packed into a glamorous case that even comes with a removable lighted mirror.

Move Over, BB Cushions – The Stamping Foundation Is Here

Years after the BB cushion exploded onto the scene and became basically one of the biggest beauty trends that ever existed, the brands are still launching them and we’re still collecting them –  which just goes to show how integral a part these cushions continue to play in our makeup regimes.
But can we say that… we’re getting kinda tired of them? Don’t get us wrong, we still think cushions are great and very necessary as a base makeup item. The thing is, though, cushions tend to feel the same after awhile, so we feel like we’re ready for something new and revolutionary to shake up our make up a little.
And that’s exactly what Clio has given us with its new Kill Cover Stamping Foundation. It’s as straightforward as its name: you stamp it on.

clio model
The gorgeous Kong Hyo Jin, Clio’s ambassador, showing us how to use the Kill Cover Stamping Foundation.

How this works is that the creamy formula is stored under a flexible double-layer net; to dispense, you tap the sponge onto the net, and an appropriate amount of foundation will be dispensed onto it. It won’t be a large amount of product, so there’s a lot less chance of wastage; but if you need more coverage, you can always tap on the net a few more times.
clio mesh

Then there’s the very intriguing stamping sponge. Upon first look, we’re kind of reminded of a chess piece; but when we hold it in our hands, it’s firm yet with a nice and soft flocked surface. It’s flat on the bottom so you can cover a wide surface area of skin with each stamp, and rounded on the top to use on facial contours like the sides of the nose and around the eyes, to ensure those areas get even coverage as well. For touch up purposes, no fear about having to tote this rather bulky sponge around everywhere, because each product also comes with the regular flat applicator usually seen in cushion compacts.
clio stamp

As for how it actually looks on the skin, it goes on naturally radiant – no worries about going overboard on the dewiness here, such that it becomes more like a bad case of mid-day shine. We’ve learnt that when it comes to base makeup, most of the time it’s best to stick to a texture that looks as close to natural skin as possible, with just a bit of glow.
Verdict: This is no passing trend. We believe the stamping foundation is here to stay and is set to become a whole lot bigger, because we see it as an upgrade from the traditional BB cushion application: with the stamping sponge, the firmer texture allows a more even coverage, while the sponge’s unique contours get the hard-to-reach areas of the face. The net dispenser is also a winner in our books, as less product wastage is always welcome – we don’t want our foundation constantly running out in no time.
To go with the Kill Cover Stamping Foundation, Clio also offers a range of other complexion products that form a well-balanced meal for your skin, with the following Clio Morning Beauty Booster Recipe. The Kill Cover Egg Pore Primer is like the appetiser, creating a poreless surface for subsequent makeup to go on as smooth as a dream, via a creamy and comforting texture that helps with moisturising the skin as well. After the Kill Cover Stamping Foundation goes on, round off your skin’s meal by setting it all in place with the Kill Cover Airwear Skin Smoother Pact, which helps keep makeup even and glowing all day long. Lastly, as a refreshing drink of water, the Micro Fine Oil Control Fix Mist keeps the excess sebum at bay, and your skin hydrated with each spritz.

Work Your Wardrobe Around These Styling Tips From The Runway

Graphic Prints and Fur
Marlene Birger’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection shows us that the “everything furry and pink” trend is here to stay. We’re extra grateful for the heads up on pairing them with a bold statement print that’ll get heads turning.

Dress code: Dress coat
Coats no longer solely belong in the “outerwear” category anymore, at least not in the books of Saks Potts they don’t. And we’re totally with them on this, the idea of going commando underneath a coat just seems liberating at its best. You’ll agree with us once you’ve tried pulling your chunky coats off as dresses too.

Bring out your dad’s dress shirts
We’ll be scrambling through thrift stores and begging our dads for their old dress shirts to achieve this look. We’re digging the oversized dress shirt look, which adds a stylish laid back quality to what’s otherwise meant to strictly look preppy and neat. Shoutout to Vetements for enlightening us on this!

Cut it out
We remember when everyone wore outfits with cut-outs in them. We’re glad these geometric slices and graphic slits are back to dominate the streets once again. Lolitta shows us how to keep things incredibly breezy with a tangerine vest and crop top coordination, paired with unexpected cut-outs on a graphic skirt with its 2017 Spring Summer showcase.

Neck and neck
It seems like the tie neck look isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Reinaldo Lourenço drops us in on how we can effortlessly slay the streets with a skinny scarf tied loosely around our necks (which, fortunately for us, goes super well with any outfit you choose to pair it with). What an elevated tweak to how the cool kids are currently doing it; with one of those suede strings to go with something low cut or buttoned down.

Mr. Robot’s Mobile Hacking Game is Devilishly Good at Screwing With Your Head

Mr. Robot Hacking Game App

If you loved following the adventures of super hacker Elliot Alderson in the hit TV series Mr. Robot, then you’re probably going to be hooked on this mobile game that’ll immerse you in his neurotic, cyber-destroying world.

Titled Mr. Robot: 1.51exfiltrati0n, the game is set in the show’s first season, between episodes 5 to 6, and in it, you are a random person who either finds or steals a mobile phone. Sounds innocuous enough right? Well, it is. Till you discover that the phone belongs to a member of the infamous hacktivist group fsociety, and that’s where things begin to get interesting.
fsociety Mr Robot

The gameplay is entirely text-based, which is honestly a lot more fun than it sounds because you’re actually ‘communicating’ with the show’s characters, like Darlene and Elliot. So when the game kicks off proper, you’ll get swarmed with numerous texts from them and random people, and how you answer these texts, will determine the direction the game will take you.
Mr Robot Text

Mr Robot Text Hack

The situations you face at first are fairly harmless. For example, one challenge requires you to extract a password from a low-level E Corp employee. Sweet-talking her into giving it to you will do the trick. However, things progressively get darker as the game goes on, and soon, you’ll be traversing in the realms of blackmail and manipulation, which morally isn’t quite right of course. That’s what the game is all about though: screwing with other people through technological means.
“It’s an adventure game you play entirely through the guise of texting, so you get to mess with people and ruin relationships and destroy some lives and help characters on the show perform the BIGGEST HACK OF ALL TIME,” wrote Adam Hines, co-founder of Nightschool Studios, on his company’s page.
Mr. Robot E Corp

What makes this game unique is that it’s basically just a separate texting app. Plus, the storyline itself is constructed to last only seven days, although you could easily finish it in three to four days if you really wanted to.
So will this game help you enjoy Mr. Robot’s TV series even more? It probably wouldn’t. But it’s no doubt a great way to have a better understanding of your favourite characters and how they operate in the grim, shadowy world of hacktivism.

Your Favourite Peanuts Characters Are Taking Over The Bata Tennis Shoes

We’re not sure about you, but if school shoes looked this cute all the time, we would never complain again. Seriously, how adorable are these Peanuts x Bata canvas shoes? We love the witty play of words on these adorable prints: Peanuts characters playing tennis on (that’s right, you’ve guessed it) the classic Bata Tennis lace-up sneaker. The fun crossover between these two iconic brands sure do speak to us, and we’re literally fawning over how we can now bring our favourite childhood comic characters out with us while we’re on the go.

Ah, if these had only existed back in our secondary school days. We’d like to think that we’d be the coolest kid in class with these adorable dainty kicks.

MONOPOLY’s New Singapore Board is as local as Char Kway Teow

Monopoly Singapore Edition

Short of producing the entire game in Singlish, MONOPOLY’s revamped Singapore edition is now going to be more local than ever, with new features that only true blue Singaporeans can understand.

For instance, there will now be MRT breakdowns (how legit), as well as the possibility of getting fined for smoking outside the yellow box at hawker centres! The board’s street grid has also been updated with the additions of MRT stations like Punggol, Bishan, Botanic Gardens and City Hall, as well as new neighbourhoods such as Bidadari and Joo Koon. You also get to cash in via Chinese New Year Ang Bao draws or the baby bonus scheme.

Monopoly Singapore Edition Board
These changes are all part and parcel of MONOPOLY’s attempt to create a singular entity that is recent, relevant, and easily understood by Singaporeans of all ages. It’s also a tribute to Singapore’s unique culture as a young but successful country. “With Singapore’s rapid growth over the years and having just celebrated her 51st birthday, it seems only appropriate to recognise her success and culture in a fun way,” said Brand Manager of Hasbro Singapore.

Whether that culture is going to be fully represented by MONOPOLY; we’ll leave that to you. But there’s no denying it’s going to be a blast showing off your baller skills by placing properties all over Sentosa Cove, and owning every MRT in town.

The new MONOPOLY Singapore Edition will retail at $46.90 at authorised retail partners from 1 September onwards. Visit Hasbro’s official website at www.hasbro.com/en-sg.

The Coolest New Ways To Wear Your Watch

Chanel’s brought us plenty of lustworthy timepieces over the years – most recent of which is the Boy.Friend watch; at the start of this year, it was the colourful Première Rock Pop, and then there’s the evergreen classic, the sporty J12 made of high-tech ceramic, the brand’s first automatic watch that was launched in 2000.
Over a recent trip to Seoul with Chanel, however, we got acquainted with a whole new range. Meet the J12 XS, and as its name implies, yes, it’s a compact version of the J12, featuring a 19mm dial. But other than that, the J12 XS is far removed from the sporty chic of the original J12, and has a personality that’s completely its own.

j12 xs 1

If you think your eyes are fooling you here, they’re not – that’s indeed the J12 XS worn as a multi-row black cuff, an accessory that nails rocker chic right on the head. And that’s not the only way the J12 XS can be worn: the entire range of 16 designs spans large and small cuffs, leather gloves both long and fingerless, and even an exquisite ring that’s quite literally one of a kind, all with the J12 XS watch built into them to create bold accessories that contradict the delicate nature that such a small dial usually implies; but it’s a contradiction of the best kind possible.
The collection is divided into three categories: the boutique pieces, including calfskin cuffs in black or white and a pair of fingerless gloves; the Lesage pieces, featuring the most exquisite embroidery work by French embroiderer Maison Lesage, whom Chanel has been turning to for its couture pieces for decades, on calfskin cuffs and lambskin leather gloves; and the high jewellery pieces, which includes the watch ring made of high-tech ceramic and 18K white gold, as a way to completely revolutionise the way you tell the time.
j12 xs 2
j12 xs 3
j12 xs 4

Maybe you’re inclined to not call the J12 XS a watch, but rather, a piece of high fashion that happens to be plenty useful as well when it comes to keeping you on schedule. We love how Chanel has deliberately challenged watch-wearing conventions with this collection; it’s an idea that takes a while to get used to, that’s for sure, but once you do, you might find that you won’t want to tell the time any other way.

Check Out The New Paul Smith Mobile Game That's Got Us Hooked

Paul Smith seemed to have immortalised the endearing dinosaur motif on knitwear, shirts and accessories in the 2016 Autumn/Winter men and women’s collection. As if that wasn’t enough to introduce the bold little graphic T-Rex into our humble 21st century, Paul Smith is casting it as the star of a new mobile game: “Dino Jumper”.

We’ve gotten addicted to this 70s style arcade inspired game. We can’t stop going at our phones, guiding the dino through different levels of leaping gaps, shooting ghosts, and collecting rainbow charms. It gets better; we stand to win Paul Smith prizes if we share our high score on social media. What a way to pay homage to Paul Smith’s established signature of colours, prints and unexpected cheekiness.

Handpresso Portable Coffee Machine

If you’re the sort of person who can’t do without caffeine (and you need a solid cuppa joe every now and then), well, we have good news for you. With the Handpresso Pump – a portable coffee-making device that allows you to make espresso on-the-go – you’ll never have to worry about finding a barista again.

So how does the Handpresso Pump work? Basically, it pressurises air in order to drive hot water through grounded coffee. It’s shaped like a bicycle pump, and works similar to one too – you need to manually pump the air yourself. After a few pumps, just pour the coffee out, and you’re good to go! Due to its petite frame, the Handpresso Pump is great for carrying around, whether you’re hiking, camping, or just plain old commuting on the bus.

The catch? The capsule holds a very limited amount of hot water, and you’d probably be able to make only one cup for yourself, unless you bring an additional flask along with you of course. On the plus side, the device requires no batteries or electricity, so it’s eco-friendly that’s for sure. And if you’re too lazy to do the pumping yourself, there’s still the Handpresso Auto to go for, which is basically a coffee machine that can be plugged into your car’s 12v socket.

It may not be a new invention (the Handpresso has been around for a few years already) but whatever the case may be; there’s no denying that it’s still quite the revolutionary product. Besides, it’s a great idea for a birthday or Christmas gift if you ever need one.
