Recently unveiled at Paris Fashion Week, Polène’s recent collaboration with Irish designer Róisín Pierce has resulted in two sculptural handbags. The Button Bow Box and the Button Bow Sphere both come with hand-sewn lattices consisting of buttons and bows on the bags, with the name clearly indicating what shape the bags take.
Both bags are handcrafted in Ubrique, Spain, from Dutch full-grain nappa leather in porcelain, cloud or ink tones. The Button Bow Box takes a more blocky shape, but bevelled edges soften the sharp lines of the bag and the handle strap is decorated with a delicate bow on either side.
The Button Bow Sphere is the polar opposite, with a circular shape that splits down the middle for an opening and it comes with a looped handle that allows the bag to swing freely from the wrist.
This collaboration marks the first time that Polène has invited an independent brand to design a collection of bags, and it’s a harmonious blend of Polène’s leather mastery and Róisín Pierce’s intricate designs that heavily feature lace and crochet.
THE COLLECTION IS NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE AND AT POLÈNE’S FLAGSHIP CHAMPS-ÉLYSÉES BOUTIQUE. THE BUTTON BOW BOX RETAILS FROM 1,190 USD AND THE BUTTON BOW SPHERE IS PRICED AT 950 USD.
