adidas Originals shines light on the influence of the Superstar for FW25

Created for basketball and adopted by pioneers of streetwear and every generation after, the Superstar is an original icon that has made a journey from sports to culture. Since launching “The Original” campaign earlier this year, adidas is back with a new campaign focusing on the influence of the Superstar.

Inspired by the iconic silhouette’s legacy of transcending cultural spaces, “Superstar, The Original” adopts a living stage as its backdrop for the campaign that is captured in dramatic high contrast black and white as a star-studded cast show off the magnetism of being an Original Icon.

Directed by visionary photographer and filmmaker Thibaut Grevet, the campaign brings together an unprecedented roster of cultural trailblazers who exemplify what it means to be an Original icon.

This includes legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson, who narrates the film, multi-award winning songwriter and producer Missy Elliott, skateboarding legend Mark Gonzales, NBA sensation Anthony Edwards, multi-platinum Memphis powerhouse Gorilla, American singer-songwriter Teezo Touchdown, boundary-pushing model and actress Gabbriette, and global music icon JENNIE.

At the heart of the campaign is the Superstar, which returns in two classic colourways alongside the iconic Firebird tracksuit.

The campaign unfolds in two chapters — Pyramids and Clocks. 


Pyramids is a powerful teaser that sees Samuel L. Jackson reflect on enduring monument to human achievement that withstand the test of time, drawing a parallel between these ancient structures and the lasting cultural impact of the Superstar.


Clocks is a hero film that brings together the complete cast of seven cultural icons in a singular powerful statement.
